Blending the lines between traditional and modern, natural and manmade, this home is the perfect start to a memorable trip. This exquisite villa can be found on the slopes of Mount Etna, just outside of Santa Venerina. It makes for an excellent base for exploring Etna’s villages, restaurants and wine cellars, and is just a thirty-minute drive from both Acireale and Giarre. The sights of Taormina are just 30 kilometres away, too.

On the Cyclops Riviera, this modern home calls families of four to relax, steps away from a rocky inlet. We love how the main bedroom soaks up the scenery through a glass wall, inviting you onto the private terrace with sea views. Though the second built-in bed may be hard to access for some, it's a cosy nook for kids. Strong wi-fi isn't guaranteed, but the communal garden and seasonal pool offer tech-free highlights. And exciting excursions are at hand, including trips to nearby Acireale and Catania.

The King of Sky

Composed of a main farmhouse, a smaller house, and an annex, this estate is ideal for groups who want plenty of space to chill out in perfect peace. And, with incredible vistas across orchards and vineyards from the slopes of Mount Etna, along with a range of fabulous amenities, you'll settle into Sicilian life in no time at all. 

The former manor house is a true sanctuary, with cool tiles and crisp tones, where you can seek some respite on hot days. Along with a stylish living space, there's also a fitness room and a collection of gorgeous bedrooms – and all of which have been restored using environmentally-friendly materials. On the lower floor, you'll find a spa area composed of a Turkish bath, sauna, jacuzzi, and salt room, where all your troubles will evaporate. And, outside, you can splash around in the swimming pool or soak in the hot tub as you drink in the stunning views. 

Walkers can join one of the trails in Etna Park, winding through the volcanic landscapes – or, in the winter months, you can even ski. Catania, the ancient port city with a golden, sandy beach, is just 15kms away. So, whether you're feeling active, hungry for Sicilian cuisine, or want to lose yourself in the island's rich history, you're in the right place. 

Volcanic Rock

From the dining area, you’ve got a stunning view of Mount Etna’s ash-topped peak looming above this fabulous villa. If you’re not swimming laps in the outdoor pool, perhaps take advantage of the full spa within the old walls inside – a Turkish hammam, sauna, salt grotto and Jacuzzi await. Bedrooms are spread across three buildings – the main villa, a separate annexe and a self-contained cottage. Lounges and dining rooms set around old fireplaces whisper of the old world and you can choose to cook in the full kitchen or outside at the barbecue. Let the kids run free on vast lawns turned football pitches or spend the day hiking Etna or visiting the nearby city of Catania.

Lying on the slopes of Mount Etna, the two guesthouses that make up this villa are built from distinctive lava stone, and you have practically uninterrupted views of Etna from the gardens. Speaking of, the pool is the perfect place to soak up the sunshine, surrounded by native trees and vineyards. If you want to try some of the local wine, you don't have to go far – there's a hidden wine cellar carved into the rock, filled with bottles of the region's characteristic Etna DOC wine. If you want to explore more of Sicily's unique culture, the city of Catania is just a 30-minute drive away.

Just a forty-minute drive from the vibrant city of Catania, the easy-going lifestyle in the village of Stazzo offers a relaxing stay in Sicily. While the glorious, blue Ionian Sea laps the shore at the local marina, a five-minute stroll (passing waterside restaurants and diving centres) will take you home to a similarly coastal abode.

This modern, mid-century villa has quite a striking appearance. But surrounded by lush foliage and palm trees, it’s almost hidden from sight. Its gently undulating, curved roofs mirror the shape of the calm waves of the neighbouring sea. And to add to this theme, a glistening infinity pool sits in the garden.
