Located in the centre of Terrasini, this home sits in a sunny position in this harbour town on the Sicilian gulf of the northeast coast. To the south and west of this town, there are the fruit plantations ‘Conca d’Oro’, and the area is surrounded by vast mountains which provide a stunning backdrop to your terrace views. 

A cappuccino on the terrace, as you admire the panorama is the ideal way to begin each morning here, before you head out for the day. Why not go hiking and explore the paths at the Riserva Naturale Capo Rama – 4km away? Or, for those looking for a more relaxing break, you can spend their time on the sandy beach of Magaggiari – just 1km away.

In the evening, return home and fire up the barbecue for meals on the terrace in the Italian alfresco style. Then, as the night grows chillier, snuggle up together in front of the open-hearth fireplace.

Set within acres and acres of olive groves, this villa is all about Sicily’s peace and quiet. If you do want to catch a bit of the island’s buzz and stock up on supplies, the historic town of Castelvetrano is a short drive away. But this place is all about the tranquil life, floating in the huge, turquoise swimming pool or enjoying a long, lazy lounge thanks to the full outdoor kitchen. There are plenty of shaded spots with comfy seating dotted around the grounds. 

The villa is set out courtyard-style, all on one level (except for one little turret) with white buildings clustered around the pool terrace. Bedrooms, living rooms and dining areas have their own entrances onto the terrace. Inside, we love the old-world feel of the place with its sloped, wooden ceilings in the bedrooms and Persian rugs in the living room. Furniture feels like it belongs to a 19th-century aristocrat. There’s a big wood-burning stove in the dine-in kitchen, though we doubt you’ll need it in the heat of spring, autumn and summer. All in all, this place feels like you’ve got your own castle in the Sicilian countryside.

This pure white home is situated close by to the bright blue sea of Sicily, which can be admired from the comfort of your very own terrace. You'll also notice a fantastic view of the nearby rock formations accompanied by the glistening skies and verdant scenery. This villa rests on a hillside, 600 metres from Cala Mazzo di Sciacca beach. If you want to explore traditional Sicilian cuisine and wine in the local bars, the seaside village of Scopello sits prettily nearby. The coastline here is dotted with sweeps of soft sand and crystalline water, and the nature reserve of Zingaro is in the area.

 The home’s burnt-sienna facade is striking against a near-constant blue sky, and a terracotta roof and wooden shutters speak of old-world Sicily. In the private garden, olive trees shade the outdoor kitchen and the group can dine with a view of the endless sea. A bamboo pergola keeps things cool in the outdoor lounge and, when the heat gets too much, there’s a plunge-style swimming pool to cool off. The classic stone build of this restored ‘baglio’ is characteristic of the local area. Less than a half hour from Cefalù, this villa boasts sensational views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. There's no better spot to enjoy them than the panoramic infinity pool. It may require a few steps to reach, but it's perfect for sunbathing, splashing, and swooning over the scenery. Inside, the design isn't the most modern, but the open-plan living area and trio of bedrooms ensure enough space for everyone. Plus, the terrace provides even more room for group gatherings. Ready to explore? While the drive to Cefalù is worth it, Finale di Pollina's rocky beaches and coves are closer to home if you'd rather stay local.

One of our favourite features is the cobbled floor of the dining space – the farmhouse style goes a long way in making this feel homely, which makes it the perfect room for tiramisu, copious amounts of coffee, and a board game or two.
