Just a short stroll from Balestrate’s golden beach, this apartment will transport you straight into authentic Sicilian life. Mornings can begin with coffee on your terrace, or why not whip up something tasty in the kitchen? When planning your itinerary, know the town’s famous “100 steps” will lead you to the shore in minutes, while San Vito Lo Capo, Scopello, and the Zingaro Reserve are all within easy reach. Add in vineyard tours, countryside adventures, and a host of optional services, and you’ve got the perfect base for your Italian adventure.

Oceanic Breeze

This serviced apartment in Balestrate is a five-minute stroll from the beach. You’ve also got the amenities of the main street a stone’s throw away. And if you fancy a day trip, the coastal village of Scopello is just over half an hour away by car. The set up here won’t suit everyone – at full capacity, four guests will be sleeping on two sofa beds in the living area, so privacy will be limited. With that in mind, we think this home is best suited to two couples, or a family, who want a fuss-free base near the sea.

Sea & Land

Situated a short walk from the sea, this villa puts crystal clear waters right on your doorstep. It’s also in a great spot for exploring the local area, with the pretty village of Scopello nearby when you want to sample Sicilian cuisine. The home itself is undeniably dated in parts, with vibrant decor not everyone will love. And if ten of you are staying, one will sleep on the sofa bed, making the living space a little cosy. But it’s comfortable and conveniently located, and the pool is a plus on warm days – which sunny Sicily has plenty of.

Coastal Sunbeam

This villa rests on a hillside, 600 metres from Cala Mazzo di Sciacca beach. If you want to explore traditional Sicilian cuisine and wine in the local bars, the seaside village of Scopello sits prettily nearby. The coastline here is dotted with sweeps of soft sand and crystalline water, and the nature reserve of Zingaro is in the area.

 The home’s burnt-sienna facade is striking against a near-constant blue sky, and a terracotta roof and wooden shutters speak of old-world Sicily. In the private garden, olive trees shade the outdoor kitchen and the group can dine with a view of the endless sea. A bamboo pergola keeps things cool in the outdoor lounge and, when the heat gets too much, there’s a plunge-style swimming pool to cool off. The interior is crisp and clear with pops of sea-blue and turquoise matching the view from the corner windows. 

Sicilian Seascape

Set on the cliffs of Scopello, this villa is all about the views. The private pool overlooks the countryside and the coast of Castellammare del Golfo, and there's also a dining terrace and cliffside barbecue area that make the most of the scenery. Inside, the decor is rather no-frills, and there’s no lounge. However, the large kitchen is perfect for gathering, plus each bedroom has its own bathroom. One even has a balcony for sunset views. You’ll need a car to explore, but beaches, bars, and restaurants are all within a fifteen-minute drive.

Cliffs of Scopello

Discover the charm of Sicily with this beautifully located holiday home. It offers serene views over the sea and mountains from the garden’s terrace, and there’s a hot tub to relax in too. Inside, you can enjoy more vistas from the colourful open-plan living area – it’s a great space to spend quality time with family and friends. And, when you want to explore the area, nearby attractions include Tonnara di Scopello Beach with its crystal-clear waters and the Segesta Thermal Baths.

The Sicilian Sea Vista

With views of the ocean and easy access to the beach, this apartment is perfect for small groups or families looking for a coastal break. It's a sociable space, with a sofa bed and a dining table in the living room. There's also a balcony with a table for two that makes an ideal spot for evening drinks. From here, it's a ten-minute walk to the beach and you'll have your pick of local restaurants and bars to choose from. For a special touch, you can even ask your host to organise daily breakfasts or activities like hiking or 4x4 safari tours – an exciting way to explore the region.

Crimson Seashore

Looking to base yourself right in the heart of Balestrate? This apartment set less than a five-minute walk from the beach and port is a no-brainer. Granted, while it’s not the most characterful of homes, and the sofa-bed set might not suit everyone, it makes for a practical choice. There’s parking outside, so exploring Sicily is a breeze from here. Or leave your car at home and ask your host to organise a sightseeing trip for you – they can arrange hiking and 4x4 safari excursions for an additional fee. There’s also a handy on-site café bar to grab fresh morning pastries for lazy mornings at home. 

Slice of Sicilia

This pretty little villa sits in seclusion up in the hills of Sicily’s north coast. Days can be spent in complete tranquillity on the terrace overlooking the rugged hills and the sea. When the heat gets too much, there’s a lagoon-style swimming pool for cooling off and a picnic table in the shade of a bamboo pergola for long, lazy lunches. This spot is particularly beautiful at sunset as the sky streaks pink and gold. 

Stepping inside the villa, pale turquoise tiles keep things cool underfoot and the pristine white motif is livened up with a seaside palette of deep blue throws and cushions on the sofa and lagoon-blue kitchen cabinets. It’s a bright, open space designed for guests to spend time chatting and chilling together.  

Location-wise, it’s a short drive to the coastal village of Scopello where you’ll find restaurants and shops. Zingaro nature reserve is also only a short and scenic drive away, and in less than ten minutes by car, you can reach the beautiful beaches of Sicily’s rugged coast.

There’s plenty of local restaurants to discover just a ten-minute drive away, while the livelier resort of Castellammare de Golfo isn’t too far.

For explorations beyond this rural hideaway, you’ll find it’s just a short drive to the historic town of Trapani, while the beautiful beach of San Vito Lo Capo is also within easy reach.
