For a central Taormina apartment, look no further. This bright and cheerful home is right in the centre of Taormina, just a few steps from the main street. You can spend your days exploring medieval churches, shops, and restaurants, all right on your doorstep. Best of all, when you return to the apartment you’ll be able to drink in wonderful sea views from the terrace. Sip cocktails in the sunshine as you watch the world pass by, three floors below. Given its central location, you might want to pack earplugs – you’re in the thick of things here.

One of our favourite things about this home is that it's close to public transport – giving you the chance to dive deeper into Sicily. This cozy apartment is perfect for a romantic getaway to Italy, and this central location means you can treat yourself to authentic wines and delicious Italian cuisine for date night. Visit gorgeous art museums or head to the shopping district to find gifts for your loved ones back home.

Evenings can be spent snuggled up in front of the TV, with the moonlight pouring in through the balcony door. Notice the streets below become quieter as the day draws to a close, and drift away ready for another day of adventuring.

On its perch in the hillsides of Mount Etna fringing the bucolic town of Randazzo, you’ll find this elegant manor house bringing all the old Sicilian vibes you’re chasing.

Climb the showstopping steps to the entrance and step inside this carefully restored home. A glorious mish-mash of old and new, original ceramic floor tiles and lofty beams remain to tell of its historical past. While sleek, marble-clad bathrooms and a made-for-action kitchen are firmly in the 21st Century. 

Groups of friends or extended family will love the separate annex housing a sitting room, kitchen, and two bedrooms for that added sense of space. But it’s the gardens outside impressing us the most. With large terraces hugged by citrus groves, tiers of dry-stone walls, and Sicilian hills beyond, the views out here look good from every angle. Spend lazy, hazy days hopping between the heated pool and tasteful sun loungers. Get together for Mediterranean alfresco feasts under the shady veranda. And then slope away to that outdoor antique daybed – it’s got siestas written all over it.

When it’s time to dip your toes into the local culture, the nearby medieval town of Randazzo (a five-kilometre drive) is an afternoon well spent. For something a little more glitzy, mingle with the high-rollers down at the chic resort town of Taormina (40-kilometre drive). Or pack up a picnic and head for the silky sands of Giardini Naxos – the scenic 30-kilometre journey is worth the drive alone.

You can’t help but immediately be drawn to the panoramic balcony and roof terrace. Views out to Isola Bella are simply unmatched, especially when you’re perched on the tower’s ramparts with a glass of Sicilian wine, reclining on a sun lounger, or soaking in the outdoor hot tub under the stars.

Upon the Ramparts

With the sandy beaches of the Ionian Sea at its doorstep, this home is heaven for snorkelling lovers. For those who enjoy a slightly slower pace of life, the nearby charming fishing and lavish seaside resorts are just a few minutes walk away.

Whether it's rock-climbing to Monte Toro in the historic town of Taormino or summer events at the ancient Greek Theatre in the lap of Mount Etna, Nerello is surrounded by points of history, water-sports and culture. 

However, when you have your very own private paradise, you don't ever need to leave. Find two apartments with a private beach and hot tubs on the roof-terrace – it’s hard to imagine a more idyllic setting. Sip on sumptuous local wine on the roof terrace before settling down for some seafood linguine. 

For an afternoon somewhere in between relaxing and snorkelling, you can just while away the hours on the golden sands of the beach. Bask in the sun-kissed glow of the Mediterranean sun whilst taking in the beauty of your surroundings.
