When you're not out exploring Ragusa and other UNESCO towns, the garden is the perfect spot to relax. Cool off in the private pool, then fire up the barbecue and dine on the terrace. Indoors, the breezy living area offers respite away from the sunshine. With three en-suite bedrooms, there's plenty of space for your nearest and dearest.

Opal Oasis

Be the king of your castle at this impressive villa – we love its clifftop location – the views of the rocky Sicilian landscape are incredible. In the morning, head straight out of the bedroom to the balcony, admire the vistas, and then go for a refreshing dip in the swimming pool. Later laze in the hammock with a good book amongst the fragrant olive trees or take a stroll around the extensive grounds. A stone pathway leads to a secret hot tub on the cliffside.

Built of stone, with its classic wooden shutters and wrought-iron balcony, this home is quintessentially Italian. Inside, a blend of terracotta floor tiles, white-washed walls and traditional furnishings create a comfy home to relax in.

If you fancy exploring the surrounding countryside, bicycles are provided or check out the UNESCO-listed city of Modica 10 kilometres away. For a day at the beach, it’s around a twenty-minute drive to the golden sands of Pozzallo – perfect for topping up your tan.



King Of Your Castle

Nested in the Modica countryside, this elegant terracotta-toned villa provides an idyllic base for families and friends seeking a rural Sicilian retreat. You'll find it just outside the beautiful Baroque city of Scicli – spend the afternoon admiring the impressive and ornate architecture and sampling the local cuisine in an authentic restaurant. 

During the long summer days, you can while away the hours stretched out on the poolside loungers with a book or make the most of the sparkling pool. We love its freeform shape and stoned border that slowly cascades into deeper depths – it's perfect if you’re visiting with young children. When the sun goes down, fire up the barbecue and enjoy an alfresco feast of aubergine caponata, grilled red prawns and artichokes – the outdoor dining table surrounded by palm trees creates the perfect setting. 

Inside, the home is modern and stylish with crisp white walls, soft blue accents and botanical plants – it’s a blissful space to unwind after a day in the sun. We particularly love the contemporary kitchen – why not whip up a cheeseboard of Ragusa’s well-known cheeses to share with a glass of Nero d’Avola?

Tones of Terracotta

Located just outside of Sicily, this three-storey villa is perfect for family getaways thanks to a range of impressive facilities. Featuring a private tennis court, swimming pool and a wellness area complete with a sauna and Turkish bath, there’s something to keep every member of your group entertained. You can even bring your canine companions along too, and with an extensive garden surrounded by olive groves, you won’t be stuck for picturesque dog walking routes. The centre of town is just two kilometres away, so we’d highly recommend renting a car and taking a tour of its historical sites.

A Taste Of Time

Nestled halfway between Sicily's south coast and the mountain town of Modica, this villa offers everything you need for a sun-soaked stay. The spacious garden features a large pool and patio, but if you want to cool off, there's a covered terrace – or under one of the many trees on the lawn. The hammock is surely the best spot for an afternoon nap, waking up just in time for a barbecue as the sun goes down. With a garden this big, you won't see much of the interiors, but high ceilings and natural stone walls offer a bit of character. You're in an ideal location for exploring Sicily's natural beauty – the beach at Marina di Modica is ten minutes' drive away, and bikes are provided for more local adventures.

Charming Sicilian Hideout

Nestled away in the Hyblean region of southern Siciliy, this farmhouse was recently treated to a four-year refurbishment that finished in 2021 and this hard work is immediately apparent as you take a tour around the buildings and the grounds.

We're full of praise for the way that period features have been retained alongside more contemporary features, which lead to super-sleek kitchens and bathrooms rubbing shoulders quite happily with patches of exposed stonework and wooden ceiling beams overhead. A former stable has been turned into a lavish dining space, while the wine cellar has been kept and filled with local bottles.

The very same climate that makes Sicily so propitious for wine production is a pretty sizable reason why people jet over to the island for a sojourn and there are plenty of ways to bask in the sunshine here. The large swimming pool and adjoining Jacuzzi are sure to see plenty of use, as are the barbecue and alfresco tables on the verandahs that are treated to peaceful views of the local landscape.

Although there's a welcome sense of isolation at the address, the nearest town – Frigintini – is only 3km away and has a few restaurants and shops to tide you over. A little further afield, there are beaches on the island's southern coastline starting from as close as 30km away – well within range for a day trip or two.

Rustic Reinvented

Only a short drive from the baroque towns of the Val di Noto and Ragusa, this villa is a solid choice for those who want to seize the day and discover this stunning part of Sicily. Set across two floors, the property is surrounded by sprawling countryside, with lots of outdoor living space and viewpoints to soak up the vistas. And, while its minimal, modern interiors may not be to everyone's taste, its size is indisputably suited for a group trip with family or friends. 

Sicily's Sweet Escape

Set just outside Scicli, this contemporary villa – complete with impressive sea views – is a tranquil retreat while offering close proximity to pristine beaches, quaint villages, and historic towns, too. Its interiors are all about form and function, with clean lines, minimal design, and modern finishes. And, while it may not feel like a cosy, lived-in, family home, for a summer retreat, it hits the mark with its sprawling outside spaces that include a saltwater pool, which is open year-round.


Sicily Chic

Soak up the sun at home from a poolside lounger or soak up the Baroque architecture of Modica – don’t forget to stop in at the Chocolate Museum, where you can learn about its history as well as admire the chocolate sculptures.

Head home and prepare an alfresco feast in the outdoor kitchen, then tuck under the pergola. Post-dinner, it's time to relax, and you couldn't be in a better location do to so. Sink into the illuminated waters of your private pool for a few laps under the stars.  

Baroque's Neighbour

Sicilian retreats don’t come much more chic than this – and locations don’t get much better either. Surrounded by ancient olive and carob trees for as far as the eye can see, it feels blissfully secluded. Yet, when the mood strikes, Rosolini village with its shops and weekly market is just a few minutes' drive, and a little further, the golden sandy shores and vibrant piazzas of Pozzallo. There’s plenty of reasons to stay put back at home, too. The private infinity pool and sun-drenched terraces leading to an outdoor kitchen are perfect for slow, Sicilian afternoons. While inside, the open-plan living area is every bit as inviting when it’s time to beat the midday heat.

Sicilian Chic

Situated in southern Sicily, this villa suits a family or a group of friends wanting to spend their days in the sunshine.
