Beautifully designed, this apartment is a gem in Sicily’s capital city. Two sets of French doors lead to a balcony – the perfect spot for breakfast or a glass of Prosecco in the evening. Location-wise, it’s within walking distance of the heart of Palermo (there’s also a bus stop a short stroll from this home). There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood too – here you can live like a Sicilian. Apart from the wonderful apartment and address, what also makes this place special are its hosts. They really care about the little details that make you feel so welcome.

Peering out over the harbour, this apartment places you in the heart of beautiful Palermo. Inside, the sleek and contemporary touches really caught our eye, as well as the sociable chef's kitchen ideal for preparing lunches to be enjoyed out on the private terrace – equipped with comfy chairs and an outdoor dining area, it's a lovely spot for enjoying the warm Sicilian sunshine. You will have to climb about 76 steps to reach this apartment and there's a floating staircase without a railing, which won't suit everyone. When you're ready to explore, historical landmarks such as the Cathedral of Palermo are a short walk away, as well as plenty of traditional restaurants and wine bars.

Arrive to be welcomed by a bright and inviting open-plan living room, with a comfy sofa from which you can choose to either watch TV or gaze at the sea views outside – the choice is never easy! Step out onto the large balcony and allow yourself to be wowed by the vistas – this is the place to be at sunset, with some delicious wine and in great company. Nothing beats a candlelight supper under the stars with the sound of waves crashing in the distance. 

You can easily put together lovely meals in the charming little kitchen, and there is also an indoor dining table in case a chillier evening catches you by surprise. We love all the unique pieces the host chose for this home – it’s clear that a lot of heart went into decorating and maintaining this place, and the warm ambience will make you feel instantly relaxed and comfortable. 

Wake up well-rested in the plush bedroom and enjoy the breakfast provided by your host as you welcome a new day out on the terrace. You can also plan your exploring here – a short drive will take you right into the heart of Palermo, where you can wander down the winding streets, or you may also opt for an idyllic beach day, with the Addaura seafront a five-minute walk away.

Ideally nestled between the sandy beaches of Mondello and the urban bustle of Palermo, this charming Sicilian apartment offers gorgeous views of the Tyrrhenian. You might be tempted to spend the whole day here, whether preparing local produce in the good sized kitchen or enjoying a cool bath. Welcome to this retreat, which is just a short walk from the stunning Mondello Beach and a variety of cafes and restaurants. When you’re not exploring the town, you can relax in this home’s colourful private garden. Or dine on the balconies with their beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and sea glimpses. Set on several levels, the villa has a good-sized living room which also sleeps guests seven and eight on a comfy sofa bed. We love the primary bedroom with its terrace, and if you need to work while away, a couple of the bedrooms have desks. So, if you’re looking to stay near the heart of Mondello, this home could be the one.

Meanwhile, the terrace serves as a lovely spot for enjoying sundowners after a busy day of sightseeing. It's also worth noting that some street noise should be expected, due to the central location.
