Lots of shops, cafes and restaurants will also be on your doorstep. So, the location is a highlight, but so is the home. Designed by a local architect, it’s a bright sanctuary merging modern luxury with timeless charm. We love the views over one of Lucca’s iconic towers from the open-plan living space's window, too. And the state-of-the-art kitchen is ideal for creating memorable meals.

Tuscan Inspiration

This villa was once home to the owner's grandmother, and it retains all the cosy charm and elegance that you would expect. It's nestled in the village of Sant’Alessio, in a quiet spot where you can really settle into the Tuscan way of life. The interior is bursting with traditional details, from the chandelier to the stunning staircase, and of course there are some iconic terracotta floortiles. Budding chefs will love trying out classic Italian recipes – just like nonna used to make – in the beautiful kitchen, before serving up their creations outside on the terrace. It's the ideal spot for long, relaxed dinners, perhaps with a bottle or two of prosecco to make the evening extra special. The surrounding village has a couple of local restaurants and cafés within walking distance, and it's a perfectly peaceful area where you can truly relax. Plus, the beautiful Renaissance city of Lucca is just 3kms away – pick up a tub of gelato and spend a day strolling through the cobbled streets. 

Nonna's Smile

Located on the top floor of a Renaissance building that once housed the Bank of Italy, this penthouse apartment blends antique charm with contemporary luxury. There's a cosy bedroom, a small but well-equipped kitchen, and an open-plan living room perfect for couples. Vaulted wooden ceilings add a touch of character to every room, and the panoramic views across Lucca's rooftops are not to be missed. But the biggest perk is the location. All you'll need is within walking distance, from bustling piazzas and famous landmarks to shops, restaurants, and museums.

Bank on It

Located within the city walls, this fourth-floor home is perched above one of Lucca's main shopping streets. Promising pretty skyline views, this designer-furnished space offers a base for sightseers to plan out their itineraries. The lack of a handrail on the staircase calls for eagle-eyed parenting, as all guests will have to take care climbing up to the loft. With not much keeping you indoors, the famous Torre Guinigi is a stone's throw away, plus medieval churches and historic piazzas.

Bianco Scorcia

Situated next to the historic walls of Lucca, this luxurious home is within walking distance of the city centre with its array of attractions. Surrounded by a beautiful garden, this place has a private pool, a variety of seating areas and table tennis to keep everyone entertained. Inside, there are several sitting rooms and a modern kitchen – this house is ideal for families or friends. We love the views from upstairs of the ancient city walls too and despite its central location, this home has parking for up to six cars. This home has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. 

Walls of Lucca

Prepare to be swept off your feat at this beautiful Italian home, deep in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Once a farmhouse, the plot has been transformed into something poetic - we could write sonnets about the wooden beams, paved floors, and plush cream furniture. Central to the home, the living space is a cool mix of whites, statement glass chandeliers, and big potted plants, while outside, wicker garden furniture is backdropped by mountain views. There's a similarly romantic theme in the bedrooms - with added nods to Italian history. Look out for the prints of famous sculptures in the twin room, while coats of arms and velvet blue headboards hint at something more regal in one of the doubles. Vineyards and cute Tuscan towns are only short drives - with goodies bought best enjoyed watching the sunset from the home's veranda.

La Romanza

In the very heart of the walled city of Lucca, this family-size apartment for four puts restaurants, bars and historical monuments right on your doorstep. But the real standout here is the large outdoor terrace, complete with a lounge and dining area so you can enjoy dinner and drinks alfresco after a busy day spent sightseeing. Overlooking Piazza San Giovanni’s celebrated church and the Cathedral of San Martino, you really couldn't be better set up for a relaxing stay in Tuscany's medieval gem. 

We particularly love the boutique living room with ornate flooring, velvet sofas and striking pieces of art. With the glass double doors thrown open, instantly extending your communal area, the grand dining room is the perfect place for a group get-together. You can take a seat in the chic bar for evening cocktails, or retreat to the elegant bedrooms for a restful night's sleep. 

My Lucca Garden

From the moment you approach this elegant apartment in the heart of the walled city, a deep sense of history is tangible. A three-minute walk from the 12th-century San Michele in Foro church, it almost sits right in the shadows of this imposing building. And at just a four-minute stroll from the iconic Torre Guinigi, this home is a base for picture-perfect moments at every turn. As the city is at a crossroads between ancient history and the 21st century, it's very fitting that the apartment’s modern, understated interiors still offer a few nods to the past. Huge windows illuminate the lounge, where a white Scandi-style dining set sits neatly beside an antique sideboard, ornate vases, and rich, timber ceiling beams. Clean, fresh, and simple – a hallmark of Tuscan living – we love the white walls and pale wooden floors making this space feel lofty. From your windows, you’re so close to the sights of the city that you can plan ahead as you sip your cappuccino in the morning. After visiting every landmark, you’ve got boutiques, bars, and enough eateries to satisfy all your culinary desires.

Old Silk Road

You’ll find this cosy apartment within the ancient walls of Lucca. The city's characteristic cobblestone streets are on your doorstep, lined with restaurants and boutiques. And many of its much-loved attractions such as the cathedral, the Guinigi Tower and Piazza Anfiteatro are within walking distance. Back at this home, you’ll be glad it has air conditioning on those hot Tuscan days. We think this home will appeal to lovers of traditional decor and character features – it sits well among this city’s historic heritage.



Tuscan Sunshine

Tucked away on the top floor of a historic building in Lucca's charming old town, this chic suite is perfect for a solo traveller looking for their Eat, Pray, Love moment or a couple looking for a romantic retreat.

Beneath its exposed beam ceilings dotted with skylights, you'll find comfortable contemporary furnishings, antique decor and elaborate Renaissance-style touches, all bathed in golden Tuscan sunlight. We loved the elevated shower cubicle behind the bed, though we recognise it won't appeal to everyone. 

Step out, and you'll find yourself within the ancient city walls, which enclose charming streets lined with medieval buildings, quaint shops, and delicious restaurants. Enjoy leisurely strolls along the top of the walls, which offer stunning views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. The city's main square, Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, is a must-see and just a few hundred metres away. Additionally, the Basilica di San Frediano, the Cathedral of San Martino, and the Guinigi Tower are all shining examples of its awe-inspiring architecture.

Piccolo

Set within the old town walls of Lucca, this elegant apartment captures the artistic beauty of its location.

In the rolling hills outside of Lucca’s historic city walls, this Italian getaway is full of charm. The farmhouse, originally a church, has been beautifully renovated, turned into an elegant home-from-home perfect for two. A spiral staircase leads to the wood-beamed bedroom, which is partly open to the floor below, where you’ll find an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space. The wrap-around garden is peaceful and pretty, with a wisteria-draped gazebo for romantic dinners. There’s also a Jacuzzi to take your vacation relaxation to the next level.
