Tucked away on the top floor of a historic building in Lucca's charming old town, this chic suite is perfect for a solo traveller looking for their Eat, Pray, Love moment or a couple looking for a romantic retreat.

Beneath its exposed beam ceilings dotted with skylights, you'll find comfortable contemporary furnishings, antique decor and elaborate Renaissance-style touches, all bathed in golden Tuscan sunlight. We loved the elevated shower cubicle behind the bed, though we recognise it won't appeal to everyone. 

Step out, and you'll find yourself within the ancient city walls, which enclose charming streets lined with medieval buildings, quaint shops, and delicious restaurants. Enjoy leisurely strolls along the top of the walls, which offer stunning views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. The city's main square, Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, is a must-see and just a few hundred metres away. Additionally, the Basilica di San Frediano, the Cathedral of San Martino, and the Guinigi Tower are all shining examples of its awe-inspiring architecture.

Piccolo

Explore Lucca from a cosy little love nest right at its heart. This studio apartment can be found in an historic palace – dating back to the 1500s – on Via Fillungo, the city’s main shopping street. You need only walk a few steps to discover a wealth of cafes, restaurants and pizzerias, so you’re never far from your next great meal. Despite its central location, this apartment makes for a peaceful base as it faces a renaissance-era courtyard. 

Each morning, sip your coffee in the courtyard as you plan your day. Will you fill your time with visits to museums and galleries, or soak up the culture of the city through a walking tour? When you return, you’ll be glad to have a comfortable space to call home. 


Amore in Lucca

Tucked away within the historic walls of Lucca, this apartment is for culture lovers. Outside, you can wander the picturesque streets towards the iconic Piazza Napoleone and Piazza San Michele. It’s also within easy reach of restaurants, bars and shops, as well as the nearest bus station. Private parking is included in your stay and the apartment is located in the penthouse – offering wonderful city views. It’s also the ideal spot to relax and unwind thanks to the cosy living room and bedroom. 


The Light of Lucca

Housed in an old farmhouse at a leading winery in the Lucca Wine Country, this apartment is just three kilometres from Lucca. Or take a day trip to Viareggio Beach, just a twenty-minute drive from this home. Set among the vineyards, your hosts can arrange a tour to show how the wine is made or book a table at the gourmet restaurant here. This home has its own private garden (the apartment is on the first floor, so you need to head downstairs and out of the building to access it) and there’s a shared pool to enjoy too. 

Grapes & Vines

Located on a quiet side street just off Piazza San Martino, this apartment is perfect for those seeking a peaceful hideaway in the heart of Lucca. If you fancy taking trips further afield, the train station is no more than a ten-minute walk away. While the place sleeps six comfortably, there’s only enough room for four on the sofas and at the dining table in the living area, so we’d recommend this home for those who are always on the go. 

Lucca Heart

While the renaissance heart of this city is beating, this vast home offers modern sensibilities right in the heart of the walled city. A six-minute walk from delightful alfresco dining spots at the Piazza Napoleone, or seven minutes from a play at the Teatro del Giglio, you’ll love coming back to this palatial apartment. Enter via the ground floor and pour yourself a prosecco to prepare to start exploring all three floors. This is a romantic space for two, with a wonderfully open yet intimate feel. We love the sophisticated white furniture, accentuated by luxury touches like velvet cushions and ornate lampshades. The rich wood of the lofty ceiling reminds you of the traditional, rustic feel of the location, in stark contrast to the industrial-style wire banisters and the unique layout. Cosy up on the sofa beneath the high ceilings of the living area, with bold artworks offering a taste of classical Tuscan culture. And if the in-house art and design isn’t enough for you, take a two-minute stroll to the Museo Nazionale di Palazza Mansi. This home might sit right among Lucca's medieval streets, but you’ll enjoy all the 21st-century comforts.

Renaissance Air

Keeping its original signage over the window, this former graphic arts studio offers a charming apartment along the road from the Piazza San Michele. We love how the arched mezzanine adds character to the living space, which transforms into a second bedroom for guests three and four. Though there isn't an oven here for home cooking, you'll find a variety of restaurants within strolling distance. Fancy an outing? Tour some of Lucca's churches before visiting the Museum of Villa Mansi and Puccini's birthplace.

Urban Hideout

Right next to the Santi Giovanni e Reparata Church, set on the Piazza San Giovanni itself, this home is completely immersed in local history and culture. And at less than a minute walk to the San Martino Cathedral, you’ll hear the chimes from the ancient bells of religious buildings all around. Located inside Lucca’s city walls, this loft apartment is the perfect base for discovering the medieval heart of this breathtaking city. As soon as you arrive, pour a Bellini and step out to the huge private terrace – the views are simply unmatched. What Lies Beyond

Located within the city walls, this fourth-floor home is perched above one of Lucca's main shopping streets. Promising pretty skyline views, this designer-furnished space offers a base for sightseers to plan out their itineraries. The lack of a handrail on the staircase calls for eagle-eyed parenting, as all guests will have to take care climbing up to the loft. With not much keeping you indoors, the famous Torre Guinigi is a stone's throw away, plus medieval churches and historic piazzas.

Bianco Scorcia

Nestled within Lucca’s historic walls, this apartment places you in the heart of the action. Comfortable for four people, this is an ideal choice for those keen to explore the city on foot. Sure, the second bedroom is a bit of a squeeze and has very little space around the bed, but it’s a small price to pay for such an enviable location. There’s no lift here, so bear in mind that on arrival with your suitcases, and after a long day of exploring, you’ll need to climb the stairs to the third floor.

Lucca Blush

Bright and stylish, this apartment on the second floor of a renaissance building is wonderfully laid out, welcoming guests in with fresh, open spaces, comfortable furnishings and a relaxed ambience. The ancient city of Lucca is the perfectly-juxtaposed backdrop to this chic, modern home. The open-plan kitchen, living room, and dining area make this home distinct yet comforting, thanks to super-high ceilings and a colour palette that mixes clean white with vibrant reds and greens. Each room is saturated in warm sunlight, thanks to the huge huge windows, and the patio terrace is ideal for early morning coffee and candlelit, star-strewn evening dinners, overlooking the city square and church. 

You’re close to the action, with quaint cobblestone streets and little avenues waiting to be explored, as well as sumptuous restaurants to sample local delicacies and produce. For those looking to explore further afield, the iconic city of Pisa is just a twenty-seven-minute drive from home and offers a wealth of bars and restaurants, as well as more historical and cultural sights than you could possibly fit into one day.
