As you can imagine, it's a truly idyllic location and what's perhaps most impressive is that the home is just as easy on the eye, too.

The main portion of the home sits within a villa that dates back to the 15th century and you get a sense of this history with the high ceilings, large fireplaces and wooden beams. There's also a real sense of grandeur when it comes to the interior design — you only have to look at the chandeliers, artworks and lavish dining areas to see what we mean. This opulence can be witnessed in the pool house and suite house, as well.

Stepping outside, there are plenty of terraces, verandahs and lounges out on the lawns populated by olive trees and flowers where you can sit and admire the scenery. That being said, the views are equally as dreamy from the home's swimming pool, too.

When you can prise yourself away from this tranquil address, you can hop in the car and be wandering the historic streets of Lucca in a little over ten minutes, while the Italian coastline takes around thirty-five minutes to reach.

It’s light and airy with lots of character features, but we should probably mention that the bathroom is a bit dated. And although there’s a lift here there’s still a flight of stairs to climb. We’re sure you’ll love the location here. It’s situated between the vibrant Piazza San Michele and the Via Fillungo, so you’ll have plenty of boutiques and restaurants on your doorstep.

This fabulous home is set in a tranquil rural position, in the hills outside the medieval city of Lucca. With incredible views, a private pool and bags of character, it's everything you could hope for in a Tuscan escape. 

A barn conversion that spans three floors, inside it's all about terracotta floors, historic beamed ceilings and classic Italian country furnishings. We particularly love the flow of the living space, with its cosy sitting area, well-stocked kitchen and formal dining room and we think the bedrooms here are just knock-out. From the master bedroom with its exposed stone wall and four-poster bed to the two versatile twin rooms, there isn't a single one we wouldn't happily retire to after a day in the sun. And each comes with its own ensuite so there won't be any need to queue for the shower.

Outside, the undulating landscape offers excellent viewpoints all over the grounds. Sit outside on the terrace with your drinks in the evening, wander down to the pool or serve your meal under the pretty pergola. And there's an extra surprise in store at this villa – a luxurious Turkish bath on the ground floor.
