From its beamed ceilings, traditional kitchen and bright study that leads out in the garden, this compact but comfortable villa feels like an intimate country hideaway made for the sole purpose of your relaxation. And then there’s the bedroom with its forest palette, green gothic headboard and access to the terrace. Wake up and head outside for your morning coffee under a shady oak tree, then while away the hours in the pool or discover the babbling brook just beyond the home’s canopy of trees. The medieval town of Cetona with its sandy-hued piazza and palazzo is also just five minutes away by car. After a day luxuriating by the pool or exploring the nearby sights, come back home for a glass of wine in the stone courtyard before enjoying an intimate meal beneath the stars. 


Alberi

This stunning home – spread between the main villa and an annex – is a special base in Italy, tucked amid the Tuscan Hills yet within easy reach of the art and culture of nearby Montepulciano and Pienza. We love the alfresco dining setup and the private infinity pool – it’s a breathtaking spot for admiring sunsets over Val D’Orcia.

Drive to historic Cortona, sample the local chocolate of Perugia, or bathe in the hot thermal springs at Bagni San Filippo – you’ll never be lost for things to do. 

A Triumph in Tuscany

Culinary types, rejoice – Quattro Formaggi has everything an epicurean could need. Inside, the rooms are cosy and characterful, including one that sleeps four and is ideal for young families. And when it’s time to head out and explore, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Will it be dinner and drinks in nearby Cetona, or a day trip to the UNESCO-listed Val d’Orcia? Whatever your plans, this is a perfect pad for seeing more of Tuscany.

Warm Sunlight

Once the residence of a local noble lineage, this renovated country home provides a tranquil base for families and large groups. You'll find it nestled in verdant hillslopes, boasting five acres of lush landscaped gardens and panoramic views of the medieval town of Valfabbrica. Here, the famous Sentiero di San Francesco hiking trail is practically on your doorstep, while the beautiful towns of Perugia and Assisi are less than a thirty-minute drive away.

At first glance, this home charms with its rustic stone facade. Inside, it's all exposed beam ceilings, terracotta tiled floors and traditional furnishings. We especially love the country kitchen, fully equipped for home cooking and seamlessly connected to the lounge and dining room through wide, sweeping archways. After a restful slumber in the spacious sleeping quarters, fire up the Moka pot and enjoy espressos on the patio. 

Outside, expansive gardens offer ample space for relaxing in the sun. Spend your days catnapping on a sun lounger or tucking into a picnic amidst the foliage. On balmy evenings, gather for alfresco feasts on the wood-fired oven and masonry barbecue before curling up in the cosy lounge by the warm glow of the fireplace.

Divine Reverie

This period stone villa, filled with antique furnishings, is what we call love at first sight. You will have four spacious floors all to yourself for a dream Tuscan escape with your loved ones. The property sits in the open countryside among rolling hills dotted with cypress trees. Outside, in the manicured gardens, you can make the most of the sunny days and read a book beside the pool or unwind in the Jacuzzi with a cocktail. You will never get weary of listening to the rustling oaks and orchard trees or inhaling the scent of herbs and roses. Sweat out any remaining stresses in the sauna, then whip up some fresh pasta in the kitchen and round up everyone for dinner under the gazebo. Should you need anything more, you’re just a one-minute drive from Sarteano, with its charming medieval houses, wine bars, restaurants and shops. 

Rustling Oaks

This hilltop farmhouse wraps you in rustic charm – think a cypress-lined drive, honeyed stone walls, and centuries-old beams – all in the peace and quiet of Southern Tuscany. Outside, olive groves and manicured gardens frame a glittering pool, while the horizon stretches to Lake Trasimeno. Spend lazy afternoons under the pergola, feast al fresco as the sun dips behind the hills, and wake each morning to a view that feels straight out of a postcard. Painted Stone Retreat

This incredible Tuscan villa dates back to the 1600s and has been lovingly transformed into an organic and eco-sustainable farm. The landscape surrounding this home is impressive too – especially from the panoramic pool – as it's situated in Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spread over two floors, the space includes a fully-equipped kitchen and plenty of outdoor dining space, as well as BBQ facilities and a wood-burning oven for alfresco cooking. If any guests have mobility issues, three of the en-suite bedrooms on the ground floor are easily accessible from outside. We recommend a car to explore the area with ease – the Medieval village of Trequanda is just 5km away.

The Masterpiece

Arriving at this Umbrian villa, you wouldn’t think it was a new build – it’s got all the character and charm of an old, Italian farmhouse with brick-lined, arched windows and a terracotta roof. It’s built with local stone and embraces organic architecture. Blending in with its bucolic surroundings, it looks out over the Oasi di Alviano nature reserve – home to protected Umbrian flora and fauna. It’s a short drive to Terni to explore ancient ruins and local cuisine in family-run restaurants and a traditional medieval hilltop town awaits at Todi nearby.

The first thing that catches the eye is the inviting, Roman-style swimming pool that looks out over the fauna-filled valley and patchwork fields to hazy hills in the distance. A loggia-style dining area houses a table for the group and a barbecue grill, all with that stunning view before you. Steal away to the olive grove and curl up in a hammock with a holiday read.

Inside, antique and vintage pieces throughout add to the old farmhouse feel of the home, alongside wooden ceilings and terracotta tiled floors. A huge double-sided fireplace sits between the dining and living room for cosy evenings in. The view from the arched window in here is simply sublime – framed like a picture on the exposed stone wall. Up on a mezzanine level, you’ll find a secluded little reading nook to hide away in.
