In the charming town of Desenzano del Garda, among the ancient ruins and intricate mosaics, this fascinating home invites you to experience the history that lives within its walls. Dating back to the 1900s, this apartment has many tales to tell, having been built by a local winemaker in the 30s. 

Combining history and culture, the building has been beautifully restored and retains many of its original features. Think fine marble staircases, wrought iron railings and intricately carved window frames – stepping into this home will transport you back in time. The interiors are super homely with pops of sunshine yellow, which perfectly mirrors the exterior.
Open up the French doors and take a seat on the comfy sofa to enjoy your morning coffee and gaze at the spectacular views of the lake. The private balcony looks out over the piazza, and is the perfect place to breathe in some fresh air and watch the world go by. You'll be ideally situated for exploring both the town and the beach, giving you the best of both worlds. 

Known for its ancient ruins and artifacts, head to one of the local museums to learn more about this fascinating part of Italy. Desenzano Castle is just 450 yards away, which has enjoyed a rich and varied past – climb up to the tower entrance for incredible views over Lake Garda.

When dinner time comes around, you'll be spoilt for choice, with an array of authentic Italian restaurants practically on your doorstep. But if you fancy a quiet, more private meal, we recommend buying some fresh ingredients and then heading home to try cooking some local delicacies yourself, washed down with a glass of wine and a movie on the sofa.


Sunshine Square

While gazing out from the infinity pool over Lake Garda, the air fragrant from the olive grove in the backyard, the only challenge is choosing between an opera at the Arena di Verona, a boat race at Centomiglia or a summer performance at the outdoor amphitheatre in Gardona Riviera. But why choose when you can do all and unwind at the indoor spa, take a helicopter tour or a horse-riding session by the villa. Built for romantics, Olive Branch celebrates nature, culture and the rustic delights of the Italian countryside in a strategic yet luxurious location. It’s even surrounded by a 1000-tree olive grove that still produces artisan oil. 

Olive Branch

With sweeping views of Lake Garda’s crystal-clear waters, this home is the perfect base for a couple looking to enjoy all the romance of Italy’s largest lake. Just a five-minute walk from Brenzone’s colourful centre, this bright, modern apartment enjoys easy access to local shops, cafes and restaurants, while maintaining a real sense of serenity. Wake up in the fresh white bedroom with its traditional brick hearth, then head out to explore the sights. With Lake Garda’s eastern shore less than a five-minute walk away, enjoy the many walking and cycling trails that surround it or take a boat trip to experience the lake’s beauty up close. After a day of sightseeing, come home to watch the sunset over Monte Baldo from the shared garden before sitting down to an aperitivo and a romantic meal on the balcony. 

Dolcemente

Housed in an elegant building in the Piazza Duomo in Desenzano del Garda, this home has a fabulous setting. The apartment is located just 50 metres from Lake Garda and the many shops, bars and restaurants. It's just 150 metres from one of the lake's sandy beaches too.

Back at this apartment, relax on the balcony off the main bedroom with a glass of wine. Inside, we love the feature ornate fireplace in the open plan living space, but the real highlight here is the beautiful view of the city's cathedral from the main bedroom window (this room also has vibrant botanical wallpaper).

Later, if you don't fancy eating out, rustle up some risotto con la tinca (rice with fish and chard) in the modern kitchen and enjoy the fruits of your labour at your dining table. After a busy day, get ready for bed in the marble-clad bathroom with its large shower and then get some rest.



Pink Fuchsia

Sharing its outdoor pool with just one other apartment, this modern home sits in large gardens, in a quiet spot overlooking the rolling hills – the blue of Lake Garda just visible across the trees. With lovely lawns, old olive trees and plenty of green all around, it's a comfortable and practical home-from-home. 

Inside, it's a ground floor apartment well suited to family life. Modern in design, its big windows and spacious rooms keep it bright and sociable, with all eyes on the view to the rear. There's a well kitted-out kitchen and a dining table inside, but we think you'll be spending much of your time eating on the covered terrace. 

After breakfast, head to the gated outdoor pool for a morning of swimming and playing on the trampoline, or hop in your car and you'll be by the lakeshore in a little over five minutes. 

From your home, it's a short walk into the village of Soiano del Lago, with its grocery shop and small restaurants, making this the ideal choice for a quiet family holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the busy resorts. Drive to the nearby beaches for fun at the lake, or spend a day at one of the nearby amusement parks – Gardaland is around half an hour's drive away.

Oranges & Almonds

This historic villa is in Gargano, a small town with a beautiful town centre, right on the shores of Lake Garda. There are restaurants and shops to explore nearby if you can tear yourselves away from the terrace, where you can admire breathtaking views of  Lake Garda. There’s an alfresco dining area and a private swimming pool, in addition to a garden spread over five levels. With its olive and lemon trees, fragrant bougainvillea, and ancient stone walls, it feels like something from a storybook. 


The Garden by the Lake

Experience peace and comfort on the banks of Lake Garda when you stay at this modern apartment, just ten minutes from the heart of Riva del Garda. The well-outfitted home comes with a large private terrace, boasting panoramic views over the staggeringly beautiful landscape that surrounds it.

Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the outdoor dining table, plus the odd aperitif – you are on holiday, after all. The balcony is shaded, which means you can enjoy the views and hilltop breeze without the sunshine overwhelming you. Inside, you'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay, from the inviting seating area to the fully equipped kitchen. Slide open the doors as you cook to let the warm Italian air waft in.

The town is famed for its ideal windsurfing conditions, so it would be a shame to leave without trying it out. If you're seeking a more laidback getaway, we suggest a gentle stroll around the fascinating Museo Alto Garda. Its unique collection of art and archaeology is housed in a historic former fortress.

Lakeside Lookout

Set within the boundary wall of the Botanical Gardens, this villa has peace and tranquillity at its core. With all of the bedrooms on the upper floor, it’s not the best choice for those who struggle with stairs, but it’s a comfortable home with all the mod-cons you could wish for. The Mediterranean gardens and private pool offer a little slice of solitude to soak up the sun, and with the ferry dock just a short walk away, you can be out on the lake exploring the local area in no time. 

The Green Retreat

Surrounded by the beautiful countryside of Valpolicella, this home makes the perfect setting for an adults only escape. Slow down and savour blissful days by the communal swimming pool. There’s also a peaceful terrace with a barbecue for alfresco dining. Inside, the rooms have been thoughtfully designed to inspire instant relaxation. There’s plenty of space for socialising and all of the bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms for optimum privacy. You will need a car to get around here, but it’s just a short drive to Lake Garda and Verona. Plus, the Adige River is just a short walk away. 

River of Grace

This charming home is a pastel-toned delight. Chandeliers and peach hues combine to create a home that could be a Sofia Coppola set, with screen-worthy views to boot. Spread over two floors, this home is full of thoughtful touches to make your stay memorable for all the right reasons. 

Start your day on the spacious terrace, drinking in the breath-taking views of the lake while sipping your morning coffee. Whip up breakfast in the elegant stone-tiled kitchen then plan how to spend your day. We could easily spend hours in the rooftop pool, lazily floating in the sunshine with a backdrop of exquisite scenery. 

After you’ve dried off in the sun, head into the historic centre of Padenghe and enjoy lunch in a trattoria. Wander the streets with a gelato, or call into cafes for coffee and watch the world go by – there’s no need to rush, you’re in Italy after all. The jewel in Padenghe’s crown is undoubtedly the castle; whether you’re a history buff or you’re just in it for the views of Garda, it’s well worth strolling five minutes up the hill to explore. Further afield, beautiful Sirmione is less than ten miles away. 

However you spend your stay, make sure you spend at least one evening on the terrace with a glass of something local, watching the sun set slowly over the lake. If you’re anything like us, you’d kick yourself for missing it. 


Cotton Candy Castle

Perched on Lake Garda's western shoreline, this two-storey home offers plenty of opportunity to gaze longingly out across the water towards mountains – if you're so inclined, of course. With two separate but connected apartments, you'll find the space ideal if you're travelling with two families – both floors offer views, and while downstairs has quick access to the pool, upstairs has its own terrace with an alfresco dining area to compensate. You always enjoy private access to the stony beach out front here, a space ideal for soaking up some sun on a sun lounger.

Villa Rossa

Enjoy a peaceful retreat at this renovated farmhouse apartment just fifteen minutes from the banks of Lake Garda. The characterful home enjoys its own private terrace, as well as shared access to a flower-filled communal garden and children's playground. With a range of water sports and scenic walks just a short drive away, there really is something for everyone – including your furry friends, if you choose to take them along.

Inside, the characterful home has been traditionally decorated with red and green accents (all we can see is the Italian flag!) letting the striking exposed stone ceiling do the talking. In the homely bedroom, double doors lead directly onto the terrace, so you can wake up and immediately step out into the morning sun.

The lakefront town of Gargnano is within easy reach. Here, you'll find picturesque streets lined with colourful centuries-old buildings. Choose a down-to-earth Italian restaurant to sample the local cuisine, and enjoy a creamy gelato as you stroll along the water. Don't leave without picking up a bottle of the region's wine to sip in your garden as the sun dips into the inky lake.
