This tranquil Venetian haven is spread over four floors in the city's San Marco district. The rooftop terrace offers space to dine alfresco and some lovely views over the rooftops of the surrounding buildings. There are a lot of stairs here, making it unsuitable for children under the age of 6, but babies and older children are welcome. The main living space is on the second floor with multiple Juliet balconies – they're great for letting the outdoors in, but you won't have room to sit out on them. The kitchen is small, but fear not – there's a range of restaurants within walking distance, as well as vaporetto stops close by for exploring.

Casa della Terrazza

This cosy apartment is just moments from St. Mark's Square and overlooks the maze-like beauty of Venice from its private balcony on the third floor. You'll need to climb stairs to reach it and the decor is on the simple side, but it's ideal if you want to be close to the action without being in the centre of everything. The kitchen is small here – good for cooking light meals, but fear not. You'll find a wealth of Venice's fantastic restaurants right on your doorstep, along with shops and the famous canals.

The Vaporetto

This colourful apartment in the heart of Venice is ideal for sharing among couples. Its interior is a tad dated, yet charming, and worth noting is that it’s located on the second floor with steps only. Having said that – we’re sure you’ll be busy sightseeing in a city as unique as this one, with some of its most famous landmarks, such as San Marco Square and the Rialto Bridge, within walking distance. Looking to accommodate a larger group? There are two more apartments in this building which you can try to rent out. 

Venetian Dream

Located inside a 15th-century palace, this luxurious apartment is quite literally fit for royalty. Experly restored, the interiors blend original gestures with chic Italian design for a cosy retreat that’s right on the canal. Easily accessed via water taxi, so you can easily spend your days seeing the sights of Cannaregio. French windows in the lounge open up onto the water, making for spectacular views and a sense of being immersed in your surroundings. This is a studio apartment, so the kitchen is on the smaller side, but the bedroom is on a mezzanine level with creates more space. 

Once Upon a Time in Venice

Close to the domes of the Salute, this cosy apartment lies on a tree-lined avenue near the Grand Canal. Both beds can be configured as doubles or singles upon request, making this home a great choice whether you're travelling as a family, friend group, or couples. There is a chance you might hear some outside noise, but you won't be fully central and there's a water taxi stop close by for getting around. To help you get the most out of your stay, your host can arrange additional services from wine tasting to private tours.

Gondola Retreat

If you're looking for a quiet little base to set up a romantic trip in Venice, you can stop looking. This home is more functional than stylish, but it has everything you need for extended stays, including a well-equipped kitchen. And while the courtyard's furniture could do with an upgrade, the space is still perfect for spending some time away from the throng of tourists. Despite being tucked away in a quiet part of town, you're within walking distance of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Zattere promenade here.

Quaint Courtyard Abode

Tucked down an alleyway in Venice's artsy Dorsoduro district, this apartment is a sweet retreat in a city famous for its heavy footfall. The main drawback is the lack of canal views, although you're just a short stroll from the water here. The Juliet balcony is a nice touch, and we like the traditional decor, even if it won't suit everyone's tastes. Part of a typical Venetian building, there's no lift here, so prepare to climb steps to reach the second floor – we suggest packing light. Nearby, you've historic buildings and a plethora of museums to explore, not to mention plenty of bars and eateries within walking distance.

Sunburst & Pine

Hidden in one of Venice's charming alleyways, this apartment may be pocket-sized, but it sure delivers on location. You'll find it in Dorsoduro, just a short walk from the eye-catching Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute and the artsy Gallerie dell'Accademia. It's on the first floor without a lift, so pack light. We love the Farrow & Ball wallpaper, and in a more practical sense, it's a good size for couples and the addition of a sofa bed makes sleeping arrangements flexible. We reckon you'll spend most of your time here out and about, however – especially since your host can arrange guided tours, gondola rides, cooking lessons and other special experiences.

Golden Florals

Just steps from the famous St Mark's Square, this stylish ground-floor apartment enjoys views of the nearby Rio de San Zulian canal. You won't get much natural light here and the front door opens onto a courtyard which is frequented by tourists, so there is the potential for outside noise. The kitchenette is well-equipped for light meals, and while the decor is simple, we think the location more than makes up for it. You'll find a myriad of Venice's fantastic restaurants and shops just minutes away on foot, and the Rialto water taxi stop is easy to get to if you want to explore this iconic city further.

Enchanting Venetian Escape

Set in a restored Venetian building near St. Mark’s Square, this bold and elegant apartment drops you in a prime position for exploring the city. Tucked into a peaceful courtyard between San Marco and Castello, this pad is on the doorstep of the city’s canals, restaurants, boutiques, and attractions. As this is a studio, you’ll need to share the sleeping-cum-living area with your loved ones, so it may not be the right fit for those seeking privacy. But with a practical kitchenette, unique designs and a central location, it makes for an idyllic base to explore Venice.


Venetian Blush

Tucked away in a charming palazzetto at the meeting point of the three sestieri – Castello, Cannaregio and San Marco – this apartment puts you right at the heart of Venice's action. You won’t exactly feel like a local here – the decor’s a little too generic for that – but you’ll be within easy reach of all the hotspots, as well as plenty of restaurants dishing up hearty Italian fare. Even better, your host can arrange a plethora of extras for an additional fee – from cooking classes to private chefs and guided tours – giving you the chance to fully immerse yourself in Venetian living. 

Venetian Flowers

Located on the peaceful border of Cannaregio and Castello, this bright penthouse is perfect for those looking for a base to explore Venice. With easy access to St. Mark’s Square and the Biennale Pavilions at Arsenale, you can experience the city at your own pace here. This third-floor penthouse is only accessible by stairs, so be prepared to carry your luggage up – though with two terraces above the city, it’s worth the climb. Take in the characterful street of Barbaria de le Tole and admire the monumental statues on the facade of the nearby church of the Ospedaletto with a glass of Prosecco in hand – you have all the ingredients for a memorable Venetian stay.
