Settle into this cosy wooden cabin on the Minho coastline, ideal for a long weekend or couple's retreat. The large communal pool and children's play area offer entertainment and a refreshing break from the Portuguese sun, while the private patio boasts room to dine alfresco and work on that perfect tan. While space indoors is limited, the kitchen is fully equipped and one guest can be accommodated on the sofa bed. We think it's worth having a car here for getting around with ease, but if you don't drive, fear not. The centre of Fão is a breezy stroll away, while the golden sands of Praia de Ofir are easily reachable on foot.

Floral Field

Whether you're visiting the Douro region to sample its produce, soak up some sun, journey into Porto or head away with the family, this Peso da Régua apartment is a real find. On the ground floor you'll find a characterful living room, dining area and kitchen, while upstairs features two bedrooms and two bathrooms with standalone showers to ease any morning traffic. This home also grants you access to a glimmering communal pool, proximity to several inspiring hiking routes, and unique views of the remarkable mountains and river running through them. You'll be around an hour and twenty minutes from the vibrant city of Porto, although a car is strongly recommended for getting around.

The Grapes of Joy

This carefully renovated country house, where old and new seamlessly combine, provides you with everything you could need for an unforgettable stay in this picturesque part of northern Portugal. 

Inside, you'll find a calming palette of neutral tones, accented with restored original stone features, while outside a range of inviting seating areas put together with comfort in mind await you. Then of course there is that lovely lawn (perfect for a picnic or for any little ones to play on), the beautiful swimming pool that's simply made for sun-drenched afternoons, and even a mini football pitch and volleyball net for those who feel like getting active. If you fancy firing up some more friendly competition, there's also table tennis that's sure to get everyone involved. 

For something extra special, you can arrange cooking classes at the home – ideal if you would like to try your hand at replicating Portuguese specialties (and the well-equipped kitchen or typical outdoor churrasco provides the perfect place to do so). As evening turns to night, grab a chilled glass of regional Vinho Verde, head out to the terrace and listen to the sounds of the cicadas as the mouthwatering cooking smells begin to fill the air.

Red Stone

It's hard not to pinch yourself as you gaze down from The Scarlet Letter, at the charming vineyards and olive groves on the hill slopes of Douro Valley. There are several nooks to hang out by the pool and we especially love the quirky classroom setting in the gaming room that nudges towards the home's past as a school for kids. Secluded and pristine, a short drive takes you to the town of Pinhão, renowned for its vineyards and high quality Port, while a relaxing boat ride down the river gives you glimpses of the native wildlife. Still further away, the town of Provesende is a peek into the historical architecture and life of this picturesque region. When you're done with the day, recharge by the fireplace with a port and a plateful lovingly cooked by your own personal chef right at home.

The Scarlet Letter

Set amidst age-old vineyards, this stately 17th-century home invites you to experience the idyllic beauty of the Duoro countryside. And with mesmerising views across the river, this is the kind of location that will captivate you from the moment of arrival. 

Spread across two floors, the owners have styled this home to honour its unique heritage. Featuring an eclectic mix of antiques and art alongside contemporary comforts, every detail inspires a wonderful sense of intrigue and curiosity. And with two living rooms as well as an elegant dining room, this is the perfect setting to relax and indulge in life’s simple pleasures. So whether you’re sipping a glass of local wine by the fire, playing a game of cards or simply admiring the views, it's easy to settle in and make this space your own. 

Outside, you’ll find the garden transports you to an instant state of relaxation. From sunrise to sunset, this is an idyllic place to watch the sky transform whilst swimming in the heated pool or enjoying drinks on the terrace. And for an authentic taste of Portuguese living, you’ll find perfectly positioned tables for al fresco dining as well as a majestic wine cellar –  a striking setting for a celebratory dinner. 

The owners have also transformed one of the old farm buildings into a gym. With fitness machines sitting alongside old stone troughs (where grapes were once pressed), this might be one of the most unique workout locations we’ve ever seen. 

Days can be spent hiking and cycling across this beautiful countryside – the village of Mesao Frio is just a short drive away, while the beautiful city of Porto is less than an hour away. 

River of Sun

Find total relaxation in the immersive countryside of Portugal’s verdant Minho region. With bucolic scenery of rolling hills and picturesque valleys, this renovated stone brick villa is a gorgeous place to unwind. As much as lounging by the pool and basking in nature will keep you entertained for hours, the kids might get itchy feet – luckily, they have plenty to keep them busy with a play area and an array of sports games.

Although this villa has been renovated, it’s retained its original charm. Bursting with countryside character, it has a warmth that’s perfect for families. From dinners around the banquet-style dining table to cosy evenings watching films on the sofa, you’ll love the comfort of this traditional vila. But this home is not without its luxuries – there’s even a Turkish-style steam room.

The interior is lovely, but the commanding outdoors takes the cake. Spellbinding views pull you out to the pool, where you’ll spend blissful hours reading, drinking fresh smoothies, and taking dips in the water to cool off. And after an afternoon of badminton or volleyball on the grass, you’ll love sipping a glass of Vinho Verde, the local wine, while looking out to the changing sky.

When it comes to exploring, this dreamy corner of Portugal really has everything. Explore the charming town of Paredes de Coura, a fifteen-minute drive away, and spend an afternoon on the Taboão River Beach. Or take to Corno do Bico Protected Landscape for gorgeous mountainous terrain, overlooking the town below.

Eternally Green

Nestled within mature gardens and surrounded by hilly countryside, this Portuguese pad is both stylish and secluded. Located between the historic fortified town of Caminha and the golden sands of Vila Praia de Ancora – just 10 minutes away – this captivating casa offers access to a wealth of stunning natural landscapes, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture and sensational local food and wine. We don’t know about you, but that sounds like heaven to us.

You’ll love taking your morning coffee at the breakfast bar in the open-plan living area before stepping out into the garden. Bagsy one of the loungers and get stuck into your holiday read while topping up your tan on the poolside patio. You’ll be treated to countryside and even sea views from here. Feel revived with a refreshing dip in your private, outdoor pool before sauntering over to the barbecue area. Gorge on Portuguese eats while sat around the wooden dining table on the covered terrace.

If you fancy amping up the luxe factor, why not indulge in an at-home massage? Believe it or not, you’ll also be able to enjoy the services of a beautician and a private chef. Alternatively, if you can bring yourselves to part with such privacy, you’ll be able to try your hand at wine and olive oil tasting, horse riding, golf, and a variety of water sports.


History & Hedonism

This bright and modern two-bedroom apartment offers a stylish base in the quaint town of Peso da Régua – perfect for soaking up the charm of the Douro Valley, with its wineries and rolling hills. With two spacious bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living area, it comfortably sleeps up to six guests - meanwhile, the open-plan layout is full of natural light, and the fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to settle in. After a day exploring local wineries or cruising the river, head back for a swim in the shared pool or relax in the outdoor lounge area. Thoughtfully designed and ideally located, this is a great spot to experience the beauty and rhythm of the Douro.

Golden Douro

With commanding views of the rural Douro and an infinity pool, this expansive villa is a dream holiday destination. Inside, multiple balconies and windows mean those stunning views are always in sight. 

The home has five bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, a dedicated kid’s pool and gardens – it's the ideal base for families travelling together. The interior is bright and offers plenty of space to relax and enjoy communal meals and movie nights.  

Days begin with pasteis de nata on the terrace – the hosts drop off fresh baked goods for breakfast every morning – followed by lazy hours by the pool with a book in hand. If you can prise yourself away from your lounger, the surrounding area is fine hiking territory. 

Sunsets here are show-stoppers, so make sure you’re back in time for a cold glass on the terrace as the sky turns every shade of orange and red. Round off with a night-time dip in the pool under a sky full of stars to make the most of every minute in this Portuguese oasis.

Pilot Star

The nearest city is Braga; just a twenty-five minute drive away, where you'll find shops, bars and restaurants alike. And if you don't mind venturing a little further, the unmissable city of Porto is reachable in fifty-five minutes by car. 


Modern Talking

With terracotta shingles, and painted mellow orange, this beautiful villa in the Portuguese countryside doesn’t just look pretty against the bright green surroundings, but the hilltop location gives it bragging rights to some of the most incredible views of the Lima Valley.

Needless to say then, this home is the perfect retreat for families looking for a little seclusion. Bask in the peace and quiet as you wander the grounds amidst trees, feeling the lush grass between your toes as you go in search of the shaded vegetable garden. Spend entire mornings simply soaking up the sun poolside and when it gets a bit hot, slip into the crystal clear waters for a lazy paddle. 

Indoors you’ll find a combination of rustic comfort and more modern touches. The small breakfast nook by the large kitchen window is another real highlight of the home  – sit there first thing in the morning sipping your coffee to a scenic backdrop. 

Enjoy family movie nights in the cinema or sneak away to the sauna for a bit of alone time. Dine alfresco on the balcony or socialise around the barbecue whilst the kids expend their energy running around the garden. 

Drive fifteen minutes to the historic town of Ponte de Lima where you can shop, top up supplies, eat at one of the local restaurants and wander the narrow streets until you find a bar servicing delicious vinho verde.

Window into Paradise

There’s no price for guessing what the city of Porto is famous for. However, you may be surprised to find that this fortified wine begins its life far from the city, in the vineyards found upstream and on either side of the river Douro, and it’s here where you’ll find this eye-catching villa. Overlooking the slopes of Portugal’s wine region, this home boasts panoramic views that are almost impossible to tear your eyes away from. At sunset, make a beeline for the infinity pool that stretches out across the width of the house. There’s a second heated swimming pool to the side, best reached through the open-plan living and dining room. Take a dip beneath a starlit sky or sunbathe during the day. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors and windows can be found from the kitchen to the three bedrooms, effortlessly bridging the indoors and outside. The best views can be found from the balcony on the first floor. Since this area has been granted UNESCO World Heritage status, you’ll find that there’s plenty of exploring and hiking to do. But there’s also fun to be had at home on a rainy afternoon – challenge the group to a championship of billiards and table football and may the best team win.
