When you stay at this incredible apartment in Lisbon, it's like having your own miradouro – this big and bright home has the most amazing views we've ever seen in Lisbon. You won't find quaint azulejo details and other typical Portuguese touches in this home. Instead, there is an abundance of elegant modern decoration that flows well from one side of the home to the other. It's perfect for a family or group of friends looking for a stylish place to entertain. To top it all off, it's located just a three-minute walk to Bairro Alto, with all of its fantastic restaurants and bars. If you fancy a bit of shopping, on the other hand, Chiado, a ten-minute stroll away, has streets packed with chic boutiques – we love it here.

Sapphire Plush

Just steps from Lisbon's Praça do Comércio, this apartment welcomes you to unwind and explore the ease. With its enviable location, some street noise should be expected here, however, most of the major sights are a short walk away. Spend the afternoon sunbathing on the banks of the Tagus River, pay a visit to the Lisbon Cathedral, or sample the eateries at the Timeout Food Market nearby. When you return home, there's a fully-equipped kitchen for preparing laidback meals, a handy desk space, and a charming balcony, which may be a Juliet, but we still think it's a pleasant spot for enjoying an evening drink. Also note that at full capacity, two people will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living area.

A Slice of Lisbon

Right by Lisbon's thriving historical centre, this characterful building dates back to the fifties. Its elegant curved facade leads to an imposing clock tower that provides breathtaking views towards the river Tagus. Inside, the apartment is decked out with high-end furnishings and a fully equipped kitchenette. The contemporary decor is all clean lines and zero clutter, so it's more similar to the feel of a high-end hotel rather than a lived-in home. Step outside, and you're close to the neighbourhood's famous 'Pink Street', and Cais do Sodré train and tube stations. Perhaps best of all, the apartment is only a minute away from the lively Mercado da Ribeira – the city's main food market sells everything from fresh fish to sumptuous street food and is frequented by diverse crowds throughout the day. Slightly further afield, Downtown Lisbon is a five-minute walk, with numerous cafes and shops to tempt you in along the route. Finally, for a slice of history, head to Castelo de São Jorge Castle, a little under a mile away.

The Clock Tower

This apartment is all about location. It boasts a privileged position in Lisbon, adjacent to the Ascensor da Bica and just 300 metres from lively Bairro Alto. The TimeOut market – the best spot in town for a tasty lunch – is only 100 metres away. You’re also just a short walk from Cais do Sodre and Chiado, so you can spend your time seeing the sights and soaking up the city’s atmosphere.

Lisbon Love Affair

With its high ceilings, beautiful wooden floors and vibrant, jungle-themed decor, this glamorous home in Lisbon’s bustling Baixa neighbourhood feels like an elegant tropical wonderland. Bold and unique, you’ll instantly feel the holiday vibes as you relax amongst the leafy plants and luxuriate in the bright living room. We love the restaurant-style dining set with its marble table and velvet bench seat, and the decorative birdcage hanging from the ceiling. While the main room certainly makes an instant statement, the bedrooms are more sedately furnished, with a sophisticated muted palette that will help send you into a peaceful sleep. After enjoying breakfast in the colourful living room and catching up on work at the master bedroom’s desk, set out to see the sights. This home is right in the thick of the city’s action, with many of Lisbon’s main sights just a short walk away. Walk six minutes to sunbathe on the banks of the Tagus River by Cais das Colunas, visit São Jorge Castle – twelve minutes away on foot – and feast on delicious fare at the Time Out food market, just twenty minutes away.

From the Vine

Located right in front of Praça da Figueira with views of the square from its Juliet balcony, this apartment puts you in a wonderfully central spot from which to explore Lisbon’s sights. The decor is a pêle-mêle of styles that won’t be to everyone’s taste. And the great locale means street noise is to be expected. However, the interconnecting bedrooms make this spot a good choice for families, as well as those looking to spend their days visiting the myriad cultural hotspots within easy walking distance.

The Marquis of Jardem

Bespoke handcrafted furniture, curated Portuguese artwork, and a bed that practically demands a lie-in – this Lisbon apartment has been put together with real care. The living room sets the tone, with curated playlists and a built-in desk nook that makes it easy to work from home. A welcome kit of local wine and gourmet treats greets you on arrival, and you'll have access to a nearby rooftop and co-working space. With Baxia on your doorstep – the city's historic heart – there's always a reason to venture out.

Lisbon Arcana

This home is situated in the cultural hotspot of the Intendente district, close to the city centre, so you’ll find plenty of multicultural food options and azulejo-covered old buildings. There are some beautiful views from the nearby Chapel of Our Lady of the Mountain, as well as the Mirador Nuestra Señora del Monte. Intendente Station on the Green Line of the Lisbon Metro is under a five-minute walk away, so the rest of Lisbon is easy to access, too.

Inside this stylish apartment, multiple French doors allow light to flood in. Pour a glass of wine and take in the views over the neighbourhood from the small balconies. We love the polished wooden floors and grey colour scheme enlivened by pops of cheerful yellow.

Later, rustle up some tasty bacalhau (salt cod) with olives and potatoes in the sleek kitchen for dinner. If you need to catch up on work, upstairs, there’s an office area with an industrial vibe with its metal storage cabinet and concrete ceiling. This place is perfect for families, friends or business professionals.

Yellow Linaria

This Santos apartment delivers the kind of city stay that inspires and uplifts. Design lovers and creatives will find perfect contentment exploring the neighbourhood galleries, museums, artisan coffee shops and restaurants. The River Tagus is within easy walking distance and your host can help arrange extras like taxis for adventures further afield. Back at home, the living room sets the tone for total relaxation with a sound system and cosy features. You’ll also receive welcome gift with a bottle of wine and local treats.

The Leonor

Grab yourself a slice of authentic Lisbon life at this immaculate apartment set in the peaceful, hilly Lapa quarter – one of the city's most swoon-worthy residential districts.

Inside, this apartment's relaxed bohemian vibe is grounded in Lisbon, with modern ceramic touches and unique artwork throughout. Those clever designers have thought of all the modern creature comforts here, too. There's a dedicated desk space for guests planning to work, a super-sleek kitchen in the open-concept living space, and two high-style bathrooms with oligatory rainfall showers to kickstart your day.

But the clincher for us has to be that suntrap terrace with views over the emblematic terracotta rooftops of the city. It's the perfect spot to take five with a coffee and a pastel de nata around the bistro table.

When it's time to explore, get off to a flying start at the famous Time Out Market Lisboa to pick up picnic supplies, then follow the locals down to the beautiful Estrela Gardens and sprawl out in the sunshine. Or lose yourself to the bohemian Bairro Alto district – its cobblestone streets brimming with centuries-old houses, vivid street art, and traditional Fado bars is an afternoon well spent. And better still, it's all just a short walk away.

Lapa Luxury

As we walked past this apartment's hidden, shared courtyard oasis, we knew we had found something special. But that's nothing compared to the communal roof terrace with views over the city and glimpses of the River Tagus. It's a fantastic place to gather at sunset with your loved ones when the golden hour bathes Lisbon in a magical light.

Inside this home, plants and modern artwork create a homely vibe. Open the French doors to the Juliet balcony and let the warm, fresh air in. We love the marble bathroom here – very glam.

The area is a winner too. Tram 25, which takes you to the centre, is just down from the building, so getting around is simple. Time Out Market, with its twenty restaurants and stylish music venue bars, as well as shops and market vendors selling fresh food and flowers, is only a four-minute walk away. For art and history lovers, the National Museum of Contemporary Art is a twelve-minute stroll, while Lisbon Cathedral is twenty-two minutes on foot.
