It’s also very well-connected, just fifteen minutes from the historic centre by public transport yet tucked away from the tourist hustle and bustle. You’ll find this stylish home here, nestled amidst pastel-hued Pombaline architecture and providing the perfect base for those seeking an authentic slice of the city.  

Inside, it’s a timeless canvas of high ceilings, hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling French windows, ushering in heaps of natural light. Though compact, the interior is exquisitely renovated and offers all the bells and whistles for a comfortable stay, including a modern kitchen and a cosy mezzanine bedroom. However, the real highlight is undoubtedly the little balcony. Drenched in sunlight and furnished with a table and chairs, it's a lovely spot for alfresco breakfasts in the sun. Spend mornings roosted here, sipping coffee amidst the terracotta-tiled rooftops before a stroll through Eduardo VII Park, just seventeen minutes away on foot.

If you like a spot of shopping followed by lunch (who doesn't?), then this home near Avenida da Liberdade, Lisbon's answer to the Champs Élysées, is within walking distance. Here, you'll find plenty of boutiques, bars and restaurants, and the Praça dos Restauradores is nearby, too. We love this home's small balcony with its views over the area's rooftops. And while the kitchen is compact, there's everything you need to make some Portuguese cuisine. One thing we must mention, though, is two people will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room at full capacity.

This slick, multi-level apartment sits in cool and central Príncipe Real. Inside is characterful, warm, and welcoming. We’re talking hardwood floors, walls filled with bold prints in artfully mismatched frames, sleek leather sofas, and beds that wouldn’t be out of place in a high-end hotel. The kitchen has everything you would need if you weren’t dining out in one of the gazillion acclaimed restaurants that Lisbon is famous for. Get the coffee maker on and wake up leisurely, and if you can, claim the master bedroom that comes with its own balcony and city views. We love the elevated touches in this home, like the HD projector you can plug your laptop into for film night on the mezzanine. Location might be the most important consideration when you’re booking an escape to the city, but with this home in the heart of Lisbon that doesn’t mean compromising on style. Already crisp, minimal, and understated, you can also add bright to the list as soon as you open the shuttered windows dotted around this home. With the light streaming in, the contrast of the mostly white interior will make the green of the house plants look all the more vivid, whilst creating a calming and rejuvenating atmosphere. Enjoy the mezzanine bedroom by staying in bed with a good book and a cup of coffee. Eventually, you can make your way down to the sleek kitchen to grab a bite to eat before setting off to explore the city on your doorstep. 

The iconic Lisbon Cathedral is a thirty-minute walk away, but there are plenty of restaurants and cafes along the way to make a pit stop, or two, at. Put your photography skills to the test as you try to capture the vibrance of the city as you make the twenty-three-minute walk to the monumental 1940 Fonte Luminosa. There are also plenty of museums to explore and then Time Out Market lies in wait at the other end of an eighteen-minute trip on the public transport. While most visitors flock to the likes of Alfama and Bairro Alto, this stunning apartment is located in the heart of Principe Real. Admittedly, it's further away from the historical city centre, but its pastel-coloured mansion apartments and wide boulevards provide it with a charm all of its own. You'll find the enchanting ten-acre Jardim Botânico de Lisboa and the lush Jardim do Príncipe Real within a five-minute walk. While your capable kitchen can handle anything you can throw at/over it, you're spoiled for choice when it comes to local eateries – it's a veritable foodie heaven. Choose to chow down at A Cevicheria, where you can indulge in a light and zesty menu of citrus-cured fish and mouth-puckering pisco sours. Alternatively, Atalho Real plates up melt-in-the-mouth meat in a relaxed environment. Once you've eaten your fill, there's a tempting choice of local bars where you can keep the party going – Pavilhão Chinês serves imaginative long drinks in an old grocery store packed with flea market finds and bric-a-brac. At the same time, cult favourite Foxtrot might be reminiscent of a good old British pub, but the creative cocktail menu promises so much more.

At the top of the Avenida de Liberdade, Parque Eduardo VII is a gorgeous, green beacon of the Santo Antonio district. And with the annual Lisbon Book Fair taking place here every August, this cultural hub doesn’t just offer lush lawns and perfect views of the Tagus. Eight minutes away on foot, this apartment (like the nearby park) is yet another example of a serene oasis in the middle of this vibrant city.

Without any typical Portuguese features, this home is in a world of its own. The host’s Saharan-influenced decorations create a relaxing atmosphere that transports you into nature. We love the cacti alongside wicker furnishings and rugged, handmade tapestries on the walls. Then ornate hanging lamps bring a desert vibe to the dining area, where the entire space is complemented perfectly by a sandy colour palette.

Kick back on the sofa and put the record player on while you settle into your new surroundings. As music softly plays, you might find yourself gazing at the geometric, monochrome artworks on display. Or when you need to ground yourself back in reality, take a look into the four arched mirrors – your reflection would look even better with a glass of douro in hand.

We tested this home in the winter, so the outside spaces don't look as appealing as they will in the summer, but the building itself hides the remains of a Roman settlement, so you'll be living and breathing history.

On a quiet corner of the leafy Amoreiras district, situated ten minutes from Avenida da Liberdade’s elegant boulevards—if you want to experience Lisbon’s contemporary side, then Brimstone is for you. Inside, the home is understated and fresh, with mid-century furnishings among crisp white walls. There’s a balcony with gorgeous rooftop views and space to sit out in the warm Iberian sunshine. The living area is light-filled and spacious—a comfy sofa calls for stolen moments with your favourite book, while the dining table inspires group dinners and animated schedule planning. Put Park Eduardo VII at the top of your list. Located well under a fifteen-minute walk away, the views of the Tagus river are some of the best in Lisbon. Plus, its home to the lush flora of the Estufa Fria (cold greenhouse) and nearby Marques do Pombal metro station, connecting you with some of the city’s most revered restaurants.

Of course, with Lisbon's glorious climate, you'd be amiss not to have your own private balcony where you can soak up the sunshine, sip your morning espresso and watch the world go by below – so, naturally, there's a wrap-around terrace at the front and another balcony at the back of the apartment.

You're just a short twelve-minute walk from Convento do Carmo and a twenty-four-minute stroll from São Jorge Castle. 

It's a bright and breezy living space with heaps of abundant natural light pouring in throughout the day, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows that frame calming green views. Return from a culture-packed afternoon of sightseeing and sprawl out on the plump sofa with a glass of Rioja, immediately noticing the tranquil atmosphere of your modern pad. 

The sleek, open kitchen and dining area mean you can prepare a few traditional dishes to accompany your aperitivo while keeping up with the conversation and customary card games. There's plenty of room for inviting guests over, without feeling on top of each other. Later on, head out for dinner in lively Baixa, where fantastic eateries and hidden wine bars await, just eleven minutes away on foot.

This exotic apartment has a fantastic location – it's situated in fashionable Príncipe Real, known for its art galleries and hip hangout spots, as well as tranquil areas like the Príncipe Real Garden. It's just a ten-minute walk to Embaixada – a 19th-century neo-Moorish palace filled with chic homeware and fashion boutiques, as well as stylish eateries. For more bars and restaurants, Bairro Alto is under a twenty-minute stroll away.

Back at this home, we love the Moroccan inspired flavour here. Think black metal lanterns and wooden carvings, as well as a rich blue and earthy colour palette – it's an atmospheric oasis. Open up the doors to the small balcony and let the fresh air in. Then, rustle up some chicken piri-piri in the modern kitchen, and afterwards, relax on the comfy sofa and have a few shots of ginja (sour cherry liqueur). There's a dedicated workstation, too, so you're covered if you need to work from home. This apartment is ideal for business professionals, a family, or two couples looking for a sought-after location.


From Lisbon To The Sahara

Taking inspiration from Indonesia’s beautiful landscapes, this bright apartment in Lisbon’s central Santo Antonio neighbourhood feels like a beachy paradise overlooking the city’s rooftops. Gaze out onto scenic views from the living area’s macrame hanging chair while a record serenades you, or, gather together for a celebratory Portuguese feast around the palm-framed dining table as the sun dips through the large windows. There’s a desk space here too should you need to catch up on work, but if you ask us, this room is primed for pure relaxation. 
 
The two bedrooms, meanwhile, are oasis-like spaces that feel as decadent as they do calm, with the main bedroom, in particular, catching our eye with its sumptuous canopy bed. 
 
When you’re not soaking up the serene atmosphere of your city pad, go out and explore your surroundings. You’re a four-minute walk from the wonderfully manicured Parque Eduardo VII, a thirteen-minute stroll from luxurious Avenida da Liberdade, while the Botanical Garden of Lisbon is fifteen minutes away on foot. 


Serene Serendipity

Beautifully decorated and centrally located, this Lisbon apartment has a lot to offer. It’s great for remote workers, with a dedicated office that’s separate from the living and sleeping areas. The well-equipped kitchen and cosy decor also make this a wonderful choice for a long-term stay – you can even bring your pet. The balcony is a lovely touch, too. The views are slightly blocked by a tree, but you can always take in the quintessential Lisbon street views from the living area’s Juliet balcony. In terms of location, Avenida Liberdade and its shops, restaurants, and cafes, is close to your base in Santo António, and a stroll through Parque Eduardo VII is a must.

Le Problème

The streets between Jardim do Princípe Real and Avenida da Liberdade are far from touristy – the houses are populated with real Lisbon residents, who go about the business between small shops and cafes. Rainy Night is located inside a typical Portuguese townhouse, albeit one that looks a bit more scruffy on the outside – unlike the apartment. The home has a lovely view and lots of natural light, with a simple, functional design that doesn't clutter. We particularly liked the French doors and the wooden headboard in the master bedroom.

The host has made it their goal to create the epitome of fairytale glamour. His quest to find the best furniture for the job has taken him all the way to Indonesia, which is where most of the hand-carved pieces have come from – from the wood slice coffee table to the bedroom doors. This home doesn't get as much light as it deserves, but it's illuminated with well-placed lights in every room. The stone-paved terrace with a little pool is our favourite part of this home, perfect for late afternoon cocktails.

Furnished with comfort and functionality in mind, this clutter-free apartment is finished in warm, earthy tones that feel like home. Start your mornings among the plump cushions on the sofa with a milky coffee as your brood sets the breakfast table. After filling up on traditional Portuguese pastries, step out of your building and onto Praça dos Restauradores, one of the centre’s four grand squares – you’ll be struck by just how quiet your place is despite its bustling location. Turn left and stroll no more than five minutes into the heart of downtown. You’ll find endless boutiques, brunch spots and coffee houses plus the famous Santa Justa elevator and Carmo Convent. Continue walking for ten minutes to reach the picturesque river Tagus or take the historic 28E tram route from Praça Martim Moniz and trundle uphill to São Jorge castle. In the evening, just before sunset, head back to your pad and share a bottle of wine on your spacious private terrace – a real rarity in central Lisbon.

Each has its own desk space too should you need to catch up on work and the bathroom just off of the living area is a luxurious marble space that beckons pampering under its rainfall shower. 
 
When it comes to things to see and do nearby, go shopping along Avenida da Liberdade (a two-minute walk) or take a ride on the Santa Justa Lift (a fourteen-minute walk). You’re also a ten-minute stroll from the Botanical Garden of Lisbon, while the historic Alfama district is twenty-five minutes away on foot.

Carefully curated, this laidback apartment is brimming with charm. There’s a focus on natural textures – think wood, wicker and linen – with a cool blue, grey and white colour palette. Spend mornings relaxing in the light-filled living space – find the comfiest spot on the couch or take a seat at the dining table with a pastel de nata and a bica (espresso). Open the French doors and step onto the patio for views of terracotta rooftops and that famous Iberian sunshine. And if that wasn’t peaceful enough, your principal bedroom overlooks the Jardim do Torel – it’s often referred to as Lisbon’s hidden garden by the locals. Step out of your building and you’ll find yourself right on the edge of Praça dos Restauradores, one of the city’s most bustling squares. It joins up with the leafy Avenida de Liberdade and places you a fifteen-minute walk from the upscale Príncipe Real neighbourhood – one of our favourite bairros for food and drink.

Located in the stylish Príncipe Real bairro of Lisbon, walking distance from the quaint shaded Praça das Flores, this top floor apartment has some of the best views Lisbon has to offer. The interiors are traditional yet fully updated, with abstract art and framed Joan Miró prints adding a contemporary edge. But it’s the balconies that really make this home. As soon as you wake up, settle into the sight of the terracotta rooftops and iconic Abril de 25 Bridge washed in the morning’s soft yellow light—it’s really quite something. Better still, there’s another small outside space at the rear of the property so you’ll never have to miss a second of the Iberian sunshine. Your neighbourhood is renowned for its selection of trendy restaurants, bars and gelaterias. Plus, Lisbon’s charming trams operate in the area, with a stop a five-minute walk away, so you’re easily connected with the rest of the city.

This home is a peaceful city oasis, perfect for those who want to escape the city noise. Furnished with a love for rustic elegance, it gives off a sense of fairytale glamour. Most of the furniture has been hand-picked and brought over from Indonesia by the host in search if the perfect textural patterns, giving this home a harmonious vibe in every room. While we loved the hand-carved details and the woodwork in the living room, our favourite is the traditionally paved terrace – perfect for lazy afternoon lunches. 

Fay Well

The streets surrounding this apartment are part of Principe Real – one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in Lisbon, where new cafes crop up almost every month alongside organic markets and original clothing boutiques. Thanks to the hilltop location, this split-level home has incredible views over the Tagus River and the city's varied architecture, and the best spot to take it all in is from the balcony. Just grab a bottle of wine (your host generously leaves one for you) and take your front-row seat to gorgeous sunsets over the rooftops. When you're in the mood to cook, the kitchen has everything you need – there's also a produce market held on Saturdays in the park nearby to stock up on fresh produce. Downstairs is relaxed and cosy, with pops of bright reds and a clean, contemporary living space that's an excellent place to hang out after a busy day. We think this apartment is a great match for a family or friend group that want a vibrant locale, excellent views and easy access to transport links.

If you set your sights slightly further than Príncipe Real, Lisbon has a wealth of attractions. Snap pictures of the architecture in the daytime before settling down for some bifana in the evening. Of course, the local wine is the energising elixir that ties the weekend together. 

For the days or nights you just wanna chill at the apartment, the intimate living space caters to every mood. Become a digital nomad on the working station or settle into the comfort of the sofas in the evening.

This is a fuss-free apartment in the heart of Lisbon, ideally suited for families or groups of friends. From here, you'll be within walking distance from Parque Eduardo VII, Avenida da Liberdade and a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The nearest Metro station is also close by for ease of getting around the city. Comfortable for six guests, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen and a bright dining area, although the home isn't the most unique or soulful. That said, we think this a convenient pad for those exploring Lisbon's most iconic hotspots. 

Viva Lisbon

This bright apartment with its high ceilings, solid wood floors and pops of turquoise feels just like home. You’ll start your mornings at the dining table, washing down sweet Portuguese pastries with an espresso or two, before watching the bustle of Restauradores Square from your Juliet balcony. Fall back onto the sofa and nestle among the plump cushions with a good book until you feel ready to explore your surroundings.

We love the natural hues that have been used in the home’s colour block walls and the shoji-inspired panelling that is featured in most rooms. A rock garden complete with a bonsai makes the living area a chilled out space, ideal for kicking back on the sofa with a glass of wine and a vinyl on the record machine. Choosing where to enjoy your homemade Portuguese feasts is tough with a sunny dining room beckoning larger gatherings and a window-framed dining snug off of the kitchen – an ideal spot for morning coffees while basking in the city’s rays. The two bedrooms, meanwhile, are equally relaxing with their parquet flooring and mellow palettes, and each boasts its own desk space should you need to catch up on work. When you’re ready to head out for a day of exploring, you’ll find plenty to see and do within easy reach. Take a stroll through Parque Eduardo VII (a four-minute walk), treat yourself to some luxury shopping along Avenida da Liberdade (a five-minute walk) and explore the fado bars that line the cobbled streets of Bairro Alto, a twenty-five-minute stroll from your door. 


Bonsai Bliss

On one of the main roads in the city (and alongside some very high-end shops), Sandhill is in a stunning location. It’s actually within a shopping plaza, and restaurants, bars, and the main tourist sights are all easy to reach as well. The flat is decorated simply, but in a wholesome, respectable manner. The lack of flash is by no means indicative of a lack of effort on the part of the host. We particularly liked the little balcony, which was perfect for a morning coffee, or an evening glass of wine.


Sandhill

A mixture of rustic chic and fairytale glamour, this home is a peaceful oasis for those who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of central Lisbon but still stay within reach of the sights. Most of the furniture has been imported from Indonesia by the discerning hosts, and we think you'll love the intricate textures and soothing colour scheme. The patio, complete with a small plunge pool, is a quiet, sunny spot ideal for quick breakfasts and long, lazy lunches. You'll find Rato Metro stop just a minute's walk away, meaning it's easy to whizz into the centre of the city. The popular neighbourhood of Bairro Alto is just a ten-minute walk away too, with its famous steep streets and bohemian flair.

Located just a five-minute walk from the Praça do Marquês de Pombal, this colourful home is an ideal base for those looking to experience a more local side to Lisbon. Inside, the living room pops in shades of mint and sage while wall-length windows let in plenty of natural light.
