As the Portuguese sun shines down, you’ll soon be tempted outdoors. Lazy days at the villa will be well spent here, soaking up the scenery as you enjoy a swim. For a quiet moment to yourself, snuggle down in the egg chair and get lost in the pages of your holiday read for a while, as the breeze gently rocks you. When you’re keen to get out to explore, a short drive will take you to Calheta and the golden sands of its man-made beach. For those who love to surf, five minutes away by car you’ll find Jardim do Mar and Paul do Mar – if surfing’s not your thing, settle down at one of the cafe bars and treat yourself to a mojito as your loved ones enjoy the water. 

Blue Reflection

Take advantage of Madeira's year-round warm climate and relax on this modern apartment's balcony and roof terrace. There's a barbecue up here for a lunchtime feast, and we love the views over the city. Or cool off from the sun in the communal pool. There's a children's play area within this gated development too, so this place is perfect for families as well as friends. Inside the apartment, you'll find large sliding patio doors allowing plenty of natural light to flood in and a monochrome scheme.

The location is excellent, too – this home is located in one of the city's most prestigious areas, close to supermarkets, pharmacies, shops, bars, theatres and the Casino of Madeira. Adjacent to the casino, you'll find the pretty Santa Catarina Park, with its amazing views of the bay of Funchal. Walk into the heart of Funchal in around five minutes, while other attractions, such as the cathedral and marina, are within a ten-minute stroll, too. 


Roof of Madeira

You’ll find this practical yet homely apartment in the heart of Funchal, no more than 400 metres from cafes, bars, restaurants and the La Vie shopping centre. Visit the Sacred Art Museum and the Gothic-style Funchal Cathedral before finding a spot to picnic in the peaceful Santa Catarina Park. If a day at the beach sounds like a good idea, take the short drive to Praia Formosa and stretch out on the sand. 

Back at your abode, an open-plan living space invites you to kick off your shoes and make yourself comfortable. Rustle up something tasty at the fully-equipped kitchenette or fall back onto the sofa with a good book. Outside, there’s a large terrace for barbecues on balmy afternoons and glasses of traditional Poncha come nighttime. And when you’re ready to get some rest, the king-size bed guarantees a restful slumber.

This 2 bedroom accommodation with a clean and modern decor is ideal for small families looking to enjoy a relaxing getaway in Madeira. The fully equipped kitchen on the first floor opens up to a dining area, while a spacious living room on the second floor offers access to a large balcony with panoramic views. The two bedrooms feature comfortable double beds and built-in closets with plenty of storage space. Electric windows provide a bright and airy atmosphere throughout. Just a 1-minute walk from Seixal's sandy beach, this property offers all the necessary facilities for a pleasant stay. Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, Seixal is a quiet and picturesque town known for its black sand beach, canyoning, and stand-up paddle activities. Explore nearby Porto Moniz's natural pools or São Vicente's volcanic caves, both just a short drive away. With an easy transfer from the airport or free parking nearby, this is the perfect base for your Madeira Island adventure.

Serene Seixal Sanctuary

The views from this São Vicente apartment are breathtaking. From the terrace, living room and workspace, guests can drink in marvellous mountain vistas. This home is an ideal base for a family or friends exploring the North Island of Madeira. You can walk to restaurants and a supermarket, but we recommend hiring a car to get around easily – lovely Seixal Sand beach is only a ten-minute drive away. The natural pools of Porto Moniz are eighteen minutes away – this is a great choice for nature lovers. Two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in bedroom three, which doubles as a workspace. 

Madeira Melodies

Outside, you’ll find a minimarket within walking distance, while the shimmering coastline and beaches of Madeira are only a short drive away. There’s also easy access to the spectacular walking trails through the Rabaçal nature reserve and its majestic waterfalls – less than a thirty-minute drive.

Nearby lies the sun-soaked Ponta do Sol, but you couldn't be in a better place to explore the island, with easy access to the highway.

Surrounded by a wealth of natural beauty, this observatory home lets you enjoy a bird's eye view from the secluded terrace. Just imagine flicking through a local newspaper beneath the shade of an umbrella or admiring sunsets from the comfort of the infinity pool. We think the summer kitchen serves as a great hangout spot, inviting you to sit atop carved barstools and try a glass of Madeira wine. After an all-day adventure, how about firing up the smoky grill and serving your loved ones an alfresco supper?

Edge of Forever

Set against the peaceful hills of Madeira, in the quiet village of Prazeres, this charming apartment is located within a converted cottage. Featuring original stonework and picture-perfect gardens full of flowers, this is the ultimate countryside escape. Start the day with a dip in the shared pool, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee on the private balcony. 

However you spend your mornings, make sure you get out and about to experience the beautiful scenery around you. This area is ideal for walking, with plenty of flora and fauna and magnificent views that arise between the valleys and open fields. When you return, head to the veranda to make use of the barbecue, then dine alfresco as the sun sets over the ocean before you. 

Hydrangea Hills

On a lush green hillside sits this stunning modern villa, with views down the cascading slope all the way to the Atlantic. A refurbished and extended old stone cottage, you'll find a luxurious space with huge floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors providing panoramic views. A high-tech kitchen means self-catering won't be a chore, and there's a wine fridge to make sure your glass of fizzy is served at just the right temperature. Slide open the doors to blur the lines between the indoors and out, with meals taken on the terrace. And if you'd rather cook in the open air, that's an option, thanks to the barbecue and outdoor kitchen area. There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained, with a separate games room with table football, TV, and a Playstation 4 games console all ready to go when they’ve had enough time in the sun. A real highlight of the home is the pristine swimming pool, with a range of loungers set around it so you can spend your days basking in the sunshine and enjoying the view of the ocean. If you can tear yourself away then the sandy beach at Calheta, along with a selection of cafes and restaurants, is only a ten-minute drive away.

Atlantic Bound

If you long for a quiet retreat in a quaint cottage by the sea, your search is over – this home will tick every one of your holiday boxes and more. Nestled in São Jorge on the northern coast of Madeira, this is seclusion at its finest. Mere metres away from the beach, your home looks out over the Atlantic with a mountainous backdrop. 

Step inside, and the open-plan space ushers natural light in from every angle. Small in size but still packing a significant punch, you’ll find everything you need for a memorable stay. We love the terrace area  – how could you ever tire of that view? Many happy hours will be spent here, tucked up on the sofa, the barbecue sizzling away in the background and the smell of the food mixing with the unmistakable scent of the ocean that wraps itself around you. As you listen to the sound of the waves lapping against the shore, pour yourself a glass of wine and simply enjoy the moment with your loved ones. They say time flies when you’re having fun – before you know it, the sun will have dropped below the ocean and a blanket of stars will have opened out above you. Weary from the fresh sea air and the pure bliss of a day doing nothing, you can head to bed with wonderful memories and the promise of more to come. 

Sun, Sea & Solitude

Tucked away in northern Madeira, this charming home offers a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Typically Madeiran in style, the interiors are are traditional and cosy, while outside you'll find picture-pretty terraces offering stunning views of the North Atlantic Ocean. The back yard features classic tiles, and is covered in colourful flowers and lush greenery, with numerous seating areas to settle down in. Spend serene mornings drinking tea or coffee and reading a book, as the smell of the surrounding flora carries on the warm breeze. 

If you fancy a little adventure however, we highly recommend a trip to some of local viewing points to fully appreciate the scenery. Take a short stroll to Miradouro da Ponta Delgada to look out over the deep blue ocean and forested cliffs – ideal for blowing away the cobwebs or a romantic walk with your other half. 

When you get home, get creative in the kitchen and try recreating some your favourite local dishes, then round off the day with a few glasses of wine on the balcony while watching a magnificent sunset. 


Madeiran Masterpiece

Located in a quiet area on Madeira's western coast, this contemporary villa is your very own slice of Portuguese paradise. Step outside and you'll be greeted by a private pool as blue as the ocean that surrounds it, plus a lush green lawn with bean bags and a swinging egg chair – the perfect spot to sip a cup of coffee and watch a sunrise each morning. If you consider yourself a bit of a sun worshipper, you couldn't be better placed for catching some rays, as this part of the island has the highest sun exposure.

While it we wouldn't mind spending the whole day in the garden, a walk along the Levada Nova footpath that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the area's beautiful landscapes. From waterfalls to farmland, this picturesque hiking trail is a must if you're keen to discover natural, unspoiled beauty. 

When you get home, head down to the lower kitchen (yes, there are two kitchens) to cook dinner on the barbecue. Take your food out to the terrace to enjoy an alfresco feast in the warm evening breeze. Post-dinner, get comfy in the hammock on the balcony and admire the changing sky before a long soak in the Jacuzzi bath.
