It’s worth noting the Metro overground runs close to this home – handy for getting about the city, but the passing trains may take some getting used to. But for a home this central, that’s all par of the course.

It's the perfect spot to indulge in an alfresco breakfast or savour a glass of vinho verde as the sun goes down – if you're anything like us, you'll spend every spare second out here, drinking in the scenery. Although the kitchenette is compact and the bathroom is on the smaller side, we didn't mind – there's still a good amount of space to get comfortable, and the minimal, boho-chic design is a palate cleanser after a busy day exploring.

Speaking of, this neighbourhood is a trendy area full of independent bars, cafes, and restaurants. You'll find plenty of charming squares nearby to have a drink in, and several of Porto's main attractions are within walking distance – namely Clérigos Tower (twelve minutes on foot), Livraria Lello bookstore (a ten-minute stroll) and the Cais da Ribeira (twenty-five minutes away). If sightseeing, shopping and dining are on your to-do list, we think this is the ideal locale for you.

Located in Porto’s cultural heart, Boavista, this stylish apartment is an idyllic base for solo travellers or couples seeking artistic exploration. 

This apartment is calm and bright, thanks to its expanse of glass doors opening up to a sky-grazing balcony, as well as its cool colour palette and minimalist furnishings. Spend mornings on the balcony with a Nespresso coffee and pastel de nata or gather around the glass-topped table for a light breakfast as the morning sun strikes - your host is happy to arrange breakfast if you so wish. If you can peel yourself away from your breezy oasis, the vibrant neighbourhood has you covered for a sight-filled day.

Whether you’re interested in a concert this trip or not, Rem Koolhaas’s Casa da Música is worth a visit - especially since it’s only six minutes from your apartment. We think lunch is well spent at Cufra - their francesinha sandwich, made with sausage, steak, cheese and spicy sauce, is a solid contender for Porto’s best. Spend the afternoon exploring one of the world’s top art institutions, Fundação Serralves or marvel at the lavish fountains and sea views from Jardim do Passeio Alegre.

Now, it's a charming spot for couples and solo travellers itching to be in the heart of this vibrant city. This place does lack character inside, and the bedroom is in a mezzanine, which may not suit taller guests.
