Doze away from bustling street noise, then start the morning with a coffee and pastel de nata at the bright dining table. The kitchen is fully-equipped if you fancy a proper breakfast to fuel you for the day ahead.

The historic Sé Cathedral is just ten minutes away, an impressive demonstration of Romanesque architecture. From here, you're within easy reach of the widely-photographed São Bento station – its hand-painted tiling makes it one of the most beautiful railway stations in the world. Come evening, walk the five minutes from your apartment to Cais da Ribeira, a busy piazza with plentiful restaurants and bars to sample this city's world-famous port at. 

Teal Tranquility

This bright and welcoming apartment makes for an excellent base in Porto. It was only finished in 2022 so it’s new and fresh, with crisp white walls and stylish decor. It’s ideal for a couple looking for a modern home in Porto. 

You’ll love standing on the balcony each morning, soaking up the sun as you sip your coffee. Prepare a quick breakfast in the petite open-plan kitchen before heading out to see the sights. This home is centrally located, so you’ll be able to easily explore on foot and by using the metro. You’re within easy walking distance of Casa da Música, ideal if you’re planning on catching a show during your stay. 


Sipping Port

This enchanting and contemporary apartment in the heart of Porto is a design-lovers dream. With exposed stone walls in varying beautiful textures, this home balances its natural architecture with sleek and comforting finishes to create a relaxing base for you and your cohort.

There's a modern and elegant theme running throughout this light-flooded home – with a plush linen sofa, sleek glass and metal furnishings and a decorative rug that inspires you to unwind. The open-plan living room and the kitchen is the perfect spot for socialising with your guests – spend mornings with coffee and pastéis de nata around and evenings with a glass of Tempranillo and olives before heading out to one of the local neighbourhood bars. 

If you’re seeking a cultural excursion will be delighted that the Bolsa Palace and Porto Cathedral are only a short walk away. Head north to visit the Livraria Lello, which is said to be the most beautiful bookshop in the world, before stopping at Mercado Ferreira Borges – this iconic piece of iron architecture contains tapas restaurants, a wine bar and a neighbourhood nightclub – the best part? It’s just around the corner from your apartment, so after a night sampling Porto’s music scene, you can fall into your soft sheets within minutes. 

Textures of Stone

Between two beautiful parks – Jardim da Cordoaria and Jardim das Virtudes – and set in a pretty period building, this studio home is quite the little charmer. With high ceilings and stripped-back woodwork to its trio of Juliet balcony windows, it's full of character, and its recent refurbishment has added a big helping of modern styling and clever design. 

There's a bespoke kitchen packed with everything you'll need for cooking at home, along with a comfy sofa, a little dining area and even a desk. And while this is a studio, the addition of a sleeping platform up a few steps divides the space neatly – creating storage beneath. Step out of bed and straight into your in-room rainfall shower, before making a cup of coffee and opening up the shutters to gaze across at the park.

With wine bars and cafes on your street, you won't have to go far for a true taste of Porto, and the riverside is just a ten-minute walk.



The Shuttersmith

Craving sandy, salty days spent under the sun? You’ll be just two minutes from Praia de Carneiro with its beautiful lighthouse and four minutes from sandy stretches at Praia Ingleses. Along the coast, there’s a promenade perfect for long walks or holiday jogs. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars in this neighbourhood for dining on fresh seafood after a long day, and the city centre is best reached by bus (the ride averages around forty minutes) or by car (around fifteen minutes). Inside the home, you’ll find a row of windows in the living room that open to sea views and fresh air, bringing a beachy atmosphere into the modern, stylish space. The open-plan living area beams with natural light illuminating the light wood parquet floors and furniture, creating a breezy atmosphere for unwinding. The master bedroom features sea views too (and an en-suite). If you are looking to explore the delights of the Portuguese coast, you really couldn’t ask for much more.

Leeward Waters

Located in affluent Foz do Douro – known for its sandy shores, delectable restaurants and popular markets – this soulful apartment promises a typically idyllic coastal retreat and yet is only a ten-minute drive into the centre of Porto. Perfectly placed, you're a short walk from various beaches, including Praia da Luz and Praia do Ourigo, just to name a couple. 

Step inside to find a cleverly designed space, combining natural materials, traditional touches and modern comforts to create a stylish home. Wood floors, stone walls and Juliet balconies shape the flat as a whole, while the hemp furnishings and neutral colour palette make for laidback yet characterful interiors. We particularly love how this smart set-up uses a crittall-style divider to separate the bedroom from the communal area, adding privacy and plenty of visual interest to boot. 

Down at street level, you're an eight-minute stroll from Foz Market, a twenty-five-minute walk from the 17th-century Castelo do Queijo fortress, while being surrounded by designer boutiques and art galleries, to tempt you away from the beach. 

Set in Stone

They say good things come in small packages and this practical apartment lives up to the saying. As central as Porto bases get, you’ll be close to a host of cultural and historic must-sees, including Clérigos Tower, Porto Cathedral and the bustling Cais da Ribeira district. The many nearby restaurants make up for the pocket-sized kitchenette, and while the decor isn’t the most inspiring here, beamed ceilings and a sleek en-suite are nice touches we appreciate. Just be aware you’ll need to climb the stairs up to the entrance – but as another saying goes, all good things require effort. 


Camelot

This stylish home offers the best of both worlds – the ocean's on your doorstep, and the lively city of Porto is just a thirty-minute bus journey away. Spend mornings laying horizontal at Matosinhos Beach and afternoons taking in the historic sights that make up this sunny corner of Portugal.

The coastal abode is composed of two independent apartments, ideal for groups who value their privacy. Come together at mealtimes in the spacious garden and savour fresh grub cooked up in one of the two high-spec kitchens. High ceilings, modern furnishings and a calming colour palette characterise the home, juxtaposing with the traditional tiled facade.

Make sure you sample the restaurant scene in the area during your stay. Seafood is the speciality here, and you can enjoy your mussels or cod knowing they've been freshly plucked from the sea earlier that same day. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets nearby, too, if you prefer to do the cooking yourself.

Matosinhos Abode

Located on one of Porto’s liveliest streets, this studio apartment is very close to the iconic Ribeira which can be reached on foot within seven minutes. A picturesque part of the city, in the heart of the old town, Ribeira is a riverside spot overlooking the Douro River where you can visit Praça da Ribeira square which is lined with colourful 18th-century townhouses, and visit Bolsa Palace, a neoclassical landmark with ornate interiors which is a short three-minute walk from your door. At dinner time, weave your way through the cobbled streets of Ribeira where you will find plenty of small bars and eateries – to taste classic Portuguese fare such as grilled sardines.

This home is also perfectly situated to explore everything else that Porto has to offer. Porto Cathedral can be reached within five minutes by foot where you can enjoy the sunlight shining in through the stained glass rose window as you explore one of the city’s oldest Romanesque monuments. Clérgios Tower is just a seven-minute walk away, while a chance to admire the blue-tiled exterior of The Church of Souls – painted with scenes of saints – is just a ten-minute walk from your door.

Go shopping at Livraria Lello, often regarded as one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world – just an eight-minute walk away. Or, experience what Porto is best known for – its port wine production – at a wine tasting room just two minutes away from this home on foot. Whatever you’re looking for in Porto, this home is on the doorstep of sights and city exploration.

Down the Ribeira

A functional studio flat in central Porto, this home is a comfortable place to lay weary heads after several glasses of port. Although the kitchenette isn't suited for extravagant meals, you'll find everything you need for light bites – combined with the washing machine, the home is ideal for extended stays. On the streets below, you'll find a host of eateries right on your doorstep, along with a plethora of museums and the like.

The Good Spirit

Nestled into a cosy coastal corner of Porto, this luxury home has everything you could want for a dream escape. Cute shops and welcoming restaurants line the surroundings streets, leading to the serenity of the beach. It's a location that caters to every style of holiday. 

If you're looking for a tranquil Portuguese retreat, the home is perfectly placed. It resides in the sleepy hum of Foz Velha, a quiet collection of cafes resting by the gentle flow of the Douro River. Wander through the assembly of shops before settling into a peaceful afternoon on the beach. 

Inland, the vibrant charisma of Porto welcomes those who long for a more enlivened trip. A quaint tram system takes you right to the heart of the city – here you can find lively bars, bustling streets and authentic restaurants. Striking architecture laces the streets together, spearheaded by the iconic cathedral.

Whether you spend your days sunbathing or exploring, the private comfort of the house is the perfect haven. Sip on a glass of wine on the balcony, looking out onto the calmness of the river. For a cosy night in, the intimate living room centres around a huge TV with your favourite platforms. 

Urban Beachhouse

Perched just seconds from Foz do Douro waterfront, with its vibey beach bars and sandy shores, you can see why this apartment caught our eye. While there’s no seafront views from the home, it won’t take you long to find them and there’s a tram nearby to hotfoot it into central Porto. While we can’t fault the home's spotless, minimalist interiors, it’s worth noting at full occupancy the last guest will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the lounge. We also think compared to the rest of the spacious home, the kitchen feels pocket-sized. But with a happening restaurant scene just a stroll away, we can forgive that.
