For bohemian beachside vibes and pristine nature, look no further than this charming four-bedroom villa, nestled between the Sado Estuary and the crashing surf of the Atlantic Ocean.

Thoughtfully designed and beautifully furnished, the villa's interior maintains plenty of period charm alongside a casual contemporary style. The open layout of the main multipurpose living area makes the most of the spectacular summer climate with large, south-facing sliding doors that open out onto an inviting poolside deck. 

Out here, you'll find plenty of sun loungers and parasols for day-long sunbathing sessions, plus a picnic table for light lunches overlooking the pool. Around the corner, further seating and dining options are in the shade of a wooden pergola.

Back inside, four nautically themed bedrooms offer a tranquil haven to retreat to at the end of the day, with both double rooms boasting en-suite bathrooms, and all benefitting from direct access to the immaculately maintained outdoor areas.

Casa da Comporta

Positioned nearby the Costa de Lisboa and Aroeira Golf resort, this contemporary villa is perfect for both sports lovers and sun seekers. Comfortably accommodating eight people – there are plenty of open-plan living areas to relax. We love the covered terrace, with a built-in barbecue for those long evening meals. While the kids will stay entertained with the private swimming pool. Just 1km from the Aroeira Golf course – you can spend your days on the putting green. While the beach of Praia Fonte da Telha is just a short drive away.  

Porto Putting

If we were to tell you of a hideaway that sits in the middle of twelve hectares of lush pine forest in rural Comporta, you might imagine a certain type of home and we're willing to wager that it doesn't look anything like this wonderfully modern residence.

Not only does the boxy white exterior look visually striking from the outside, but this sense of awe will continue as you step through the glass doors. Our favourite space is the double-height living, which is flooded with natural light from the copious number of windows that line the walls. However, the modern brown kitchen and equally glossy bathrooms are sure to take your breath away, as well. The design throughout feels cohesive, united by a preference for clean lines, sleek surfaces and chic minimalism.

Given the agreeable climate that this corner of the Iberian peninsula enjoys, you'll likely want to spend as many hours outdoors as possible and that's easy to do here. The long infinity swimming pool is both wonderfully refreshing when the midday sun is at its highest and made all the more relaxing by the heady scent of fragrant herbs and vegetation that grow around the sides. There are plenty of terraces and balconies on which to take a seat and do nothing more strenuous than soak up the rays, but you can also find a tennis court if you fancy a match or two.

Although there's a strong sense of tranquillity from the isolated position, you don't have to venture far to find the Portuguese coastline. Carvalhal and Pego beaches can be reached in ten minutes or so in the car, and there are a few restaurants and bars to be found close to these seaside spots.


Finesse in the Forest

This spacious family home, located in a tranquil location, within a twenty-minute walk to the beach, is an ideal base for a relaxing and restful stay. Situated in the Lagoa de Albufeira region, the house is off the beaten track, and is perfect for those seeking refuge from the hustle and bustle of city living. 

Here, you’ll be able to enjoy long country walks and cycling expeditions, thanks to the free bikes provided by your host. Immerse yourself in the surrounding beauty, with pine forests and plenty of secret nooks, where you can daydream and relax.

We love the bedrooms, in particular – each has its own colour theme providing a calming effect to complement the tasteful modern artwork. 

On your way to the beach, just 2km away, crawl into the local restaurant for a spot of lunch. Comporta's coastlines are picturesque, perfect for lounging in the sand and catching the rays. After a day of soaking up the Portuguese sunshine, be sure to gather your loved ones around the built-in barbecue back at home for an evening watching the sunset and indulging in divine local ingredients. You will need a car (or bikes) to get around here, but it’s just a short drive to the nearest beaches and amenities.
