If you’ve dreamed of staying in a cabin by the sea, then this serene home in the heart of Cambria might be the one you’ve been waiting for. A soothing palette of green and grey tones comes together with concrete floors, exposed redwood beams and rustic furniture to create a quirky studio space – we particularly love the industrial-inspired bathroom, with its walk-in concrete shower, big enough for two. Slide open the full-height glass doors and step out into the yard, where you'll be able to breathe in the sea air as you sip your morning coffee and make plans to explore. You won't have any trouble finding places to visit – this home has direct access to over 400 acres of walking trails on the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve (don't forget your binoculars for whale watching), as well as several local wineries within less than a ten-minute drive – head further afield to Pianetta Winery (forty minutes away) and name drop your host for a free tasting. Or if you'd prefer to hit the beach, it'll take just seven minutes to get from your door to the shore on foot – the sunsets here are incredible.

Ocean Light

In the business hub of Fair Oaks, near the Facebook HQ, this flash apartment sits in a building filled with amenities. If you’re not hitting the building’s private gym, perhaps take a jog through Bedwell Bayfront Park, a five-minute walk away. For a day out in the city, San Francisco is just a half-hour drive away (or fifty minutes on the train from Redwood). 

Apart from a private gym, the building is also home to a huge outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by outdoor lounges with fire pits for cool evenings. There are myriad cafés and lounges inside, and a plush barbecue area outside on the deck too. The apartment itself is big and bright, with modern artworks popping against gallery-white walls. The living room is made for unwinding, but there’s also a laptop-friendly desk should you need to work remotely. The full kitchen is crowned with a sleek, white breakfast bar, providing plenty of space to prep meals.   

Fair of Face

There’s an unmistakably bohemian vibe to this character home outside Oakland. With acoustic guitars on the walls, sprawling houseplants and sixties style bedspreads, it’s the kind of place where creativity rules. There are two good sized bedrooms, plus an extra ‘yoga room’ for reading, contemplation, and self-care. Begin the day with some sun salutations before a coffee on the leafy patio with its views of the Piedmont Hills. Spend your time exploring the surrounding area (Grand Lake and Lakeshore are in easy walking distance) or take the short drive to beautiful San Francisco bay. In the evenings, put some folk music on, pour a glass and just feel the good vibrations. 

Rose Mandala

Surrounded by the stunning nature of Bennett Valley, this one-acre compound is nestled between two seasonal creeks and surrounded by heritage oaks and acreage. Made up of three separate buildings with their own private outdoor spaces, this is the perfect location for large groups or multiple families to have enough room to stretch their legs while still being in close proximity to one another. Stay secluded from the outside world in your beautiful patch of Eden, while being only minutes away from fantastic local restaurants, wineries, golf, parks and shopping. Relax in the hot tub on the terrace without a care in the world or the worry of being interrupted, or sit out in one of several outdoor seating areas and dine alfresco under the California sunshine. In the evening, gather on the terrace under the outdoor lighting with drinks and discuss how to spend the coming days. There's no shortage of amenities to explore, whether you're looking to take part in sporting activities, sightseeing, or just appreciating the stunning beauty of Santa Rosa. Wine Country Rhapsody

With the magic of the sea, sun, and stars surrounding you at Half Moon Bay, this incredible home is the perfect weekend retreat for a family, only twenty minutes away from San Fransisco. Charge the Tesla at the EV charging station and then explore the trails of the National Forest backing the house or pack your beach bag and stop by the Pacific Ocean, a fifteen-minute stroll away. Sip on sundowners whilst soaking in the hot tub and watch the sunset over the ocean. As the stars speckle the sky, light the fire pit to keep the night going. Kids will be thrilled with the tree-house style bunk beds, a playroom packed with laser tag and a mountain of lego, the big screen projector in the den and the virtual reality set-up. Outside, this place has the wood-tiled cladding and white bannisters of a traditional Bay Area home, but the curved wall of windows in the double-height living room creates a modern feel. A chef’s kitchen comes equipped with more than you need for self-catering – there’s a chef’s torch for those who fancy whipping up a creme brulee – and a collection of spices, oils and condiments are yours to use. Should you need to catch up on some work, there are a plethora of modern office spaces tucked away too. 

The Curve of the Moon

With views over the Santa Cruz Mountains, this home screams tranquil country charm. But that doesn't mean it's totally remote. Downtown San Jose lies only a short drive away for you to explore, and so does San Jose Country Club for the golfing enthusiast. Apart from the stretching vistas from the balcony, we also love how bright and comfortable the space is. If you're cooking, you can pick fresh veggies from the greenhouse to enhance tried recipes. Your host can also arrange for little ones to pet piglets and other furry farm friends. With all the makings of an unforgettable family pad, you can see why this is in our collection.

The Idyllic

This Wine Country home is luxury stay and home comforts all wrapped up in one. With arty themed bedrooms, a sunroom office, and an outdoor kitchen and barbecue, you'll feel right at home. But the main bathroom with a soaking tub and cedar sauna – plus the option to arrange a private chef and daily housekeeping – really make for those luxurious finishing touches. It's a short walk into downtown Petaluma, where you'll find great restaurants and boutiques to browse, and a thirty-minute drive to the coast and Sonoma's iconic vineyards. 

Golden Blossom

Surrounded by hiking trails, golf courses, and stretches of Pacific coast, this home in Santa Cruz not only has an enviable location, but it’s bursting with the potential for plenty of memories made. The backyard, alone, has a private swimming pool, tiki bar, and a swath of green turf that the kids will love running around on – especially when they’re hiding from the dinosaur. Now, although their ancestor is just a statue, the chickens are very real – find them in their coop when you’re making the rounds outdoors. Pass through trees, make your way up and down steps as you stretch out and shake off the last dregs of sleep, and refresh yourself with a morning swim before going back inside to brew a pot of fresh coffee. 

Take breakfasts out on the patio – chances are you might even enjoy a scramble of fresh eggs, courtesy of the chickens – and when you’re ready to start exploring, head out to any one of the beaches that await you on the other end of a short drive. Golfers can tee off at one of two courses only minutes away, and nature lovers can get up close and personal with the native beauty of California by setting off on the hiking trails. 

Spend afternoons reading in the hammock, barbecue at sunset, swim under the stars, watch family movies huddled together next to the fire. Visit the amusement park, the Bigfoot Discovery Museum, and eat more authentic tacos than you thought possible – knowing that this cosy home is waiting for you to return for some well-deserved R&R.

Redwood & Palm

As you arrive at this quintessentially San Franciscan Victorian house, its ornate wooden exterior and stairs invite you inside. Located in Noe Valley (a family-friendly area right by the Mission District and Castro) you can’t help but feel at home from the offset. The interiors feel warm, plush, and playful. We love how some of the pieces play on transitional versus modern – the wire-sculpted moose head above the fireplace, and an angular chandelier in the lounge, alongside original paintings and photography prints. The living spaces are all connected, leading outdoors to decking and a leafy garden. Start the morning out here with the free weights or on the yoga mat like a true Californian. After lunch, pop on the record player or have a tinkle on the piano by the beautiful windows. For the little ones, you’ve got your very own playroom filled with kids toys and books. For a day out, gather the family and head twenty minutes up Twin Peaks for spectacular views of the city. About twenty minutes in the other direction will take you into the Mission. Get a babysitter (your host can help you out with recommendations) and head out for wine bars, excellent restaurants, and perhaps a cocktail to round off the evening.

Valleys & Peaks

Set in Menlo Park within the San Francisco Bay Area of California – you'll be just a fifteen-minute drive away from the world-renowned Silicon Valley, home to the iconic Meta headquarters. Blending city living with an abundance of local nature, you'll find plenty of things to do here, come day and night. Take a short scenic walk to Bedwell Bayfront Park or discover the local restaurants, bars and nightlife with this brand-new apartment as your swanky base. 

Offering a hotel-like experience, this cutting edge condo comes with complete access to an array of incredible on-site amenities. The overall laid-back aesthetic gives us coffee shop vibes – we can hear the mellow soundtrack already.

The residency was designed with leisure at its core, from the rooftop terrace with a fire pit and barbecue to the outdoor swimming pool and hot tub area. You'll also have access to a large gym, yoga studio and a self-serving coffee cafe. Come evening time; you may even hear the sports lounge, bar and games room calling your name for some fun.

Across the complex, there are plenty of seating areas where those working remotely can knuckle down to concentrate, or perhaps the living room of your apartment is better suited if you need your own quiet space?

From the modern chandelier to the stone floor and soaking tub – complete with lavender bath salts, perfect for tired muscles after long hikes through the countryside – we love how this home brings contemporary luxury to a rural setting. The romantic atmosphere continues in the ten-acre grounds, where a patio, fire pit and outdoor dining area boast spectacular views. This home’s prime location puts you a five-minute car ride from Paso Robles wine trail. Or, you can walk to Jack Creek Cellars, just three minutes across the street, for a glass or two with your date and not have to worry about the drive home.
