Enjoy views over Downtown Los Angeles or read a book in the California Hacienda-style courtyard that acts as a quiet retreat not far from the vibrant heart of LA. It's only a short drive to Pasadena and Griffith Park. That said, when staying in such an elegant oasis, you could just as easily stay in and enjoy the impressive surroundings of this Hollywood home. 

Golden Sunset Residence

This 1920's restored storage facility is perfectly situated in the Arts District and an excellent option for young couples or solo travellers who wish to have freedom and space to enjoy LA. With remnants from it's previous life, this studio apartment has an industrial feel and bright open living space, but may not suit those hoping for individual or separate rooms. So long as this doesn't sway you, you'll also have access to a rooftop with a hot tub, and open community grill, and even two bikes for hire!

Pia's Warehouse

You come to LA to have fun, right? Well, the good times start even before you've left your living room in this contemporary downtown apartment. Light floods the space from the floor-to-ceiling windows, while the private balcony treats you to an incredible view of the city. Elsewhere in the building, there are plenty of ways to spend your downtime. Head to the heated pool where you can cool off with a dip or lounge back on one of the cabanas that overlook the water. Just opposite, there's a full-size basketball court where you can channel your inner Laker, or you can exert yourself in the shared gym and Peloton room, before easing down in the sauna and steam room. There are plenty of opportunities to meet the neighbours in the indoor and outdoor lounges — you'll be immersed in the laid-back LA lifestyle even before you hit the streets. When you do, you'll realise this apartment is perfectly placed for the best of the city’s bars, restaurants and entertainment. Reaching other parts of the city is a breeze too, with the metro just a five-minute walk. Who said you need a car in LA?

Skyview Central

High up in your very own little corner of Downtown LA, this deluxe home makes sure all eyes are on that famous city skyline. Wrapped with floor to ceiling windows, there is no escaping the central location of this spot. If early starts are for you, then waste no time and head for a workout in the gym, or beat the crowds for a rooftop swim to start the day. Those seeking a slower pace might prefer a leisurely coffee out on the balcony, high above the hustle and bustle of commuters down below. A generous space, the open-plan kitchen and living area boasts an extensive breakfast bar, as well as dining table and L-shaped sofa for cosy evenings in. Natural wood and a neutral palette keep things fresh and minimalist to let the views do the real talking. Elsewhere in the building, guests can work hard in dedicated office space, or play hard on the basketball court. If watching live sport is more to your fancy than partaking in it, then the likes of the STAPLES Centre and Dodger Stadium offer the perfect opportunities to go to a game. 

Heaven Cornered

This converted loft is the pinnacle of LA cool. Each facet is carefully considered, from the Ray Eames style furniture to the beautifully curated folk art. The cosy living room leads out onto a private patio where you can start the day with a coffee and a pastry. Next door there is a desk where you can squeeze in a little work before heading out to explore the city. 

Rose Hill is an artsy residential neighbourhood with cosy homes, and plenty of nearby hiking trails to explore, where you can see sprawling views of the city. The centre of Los Angeles is reachable in twenty minutes by car, where you can explore museums like Hauser & Wirth, eat bibimbap in Koreatown, go vintage shopping downtown, or head to the Dodger Stadium to see a game. 

The apartment is a joy to come home to after a day of sightseeing. Its most enviable feature is the verdant shared garden, full of native plants and a firepit to gather around on cooler nights. This apartment is well suited to longer stays and your host is on hand to provide tips and recommendations. 

Curio Pajaro

This small apartment might not be the most high-end of our homes but it's fresh-feeling, stylishly decorated and a pleasant space to spend time in. Its immediate neighbourhood is on the gritty side, and you may be able to hear noise from the street from inside the home but it's a nice, well-priced base, with lots of natural light and high quality appliances. 

Full Circle

This small apartment might not be the most high-end of our homes but it's freshly-feeling, stylishly decorated and a pleasant space to spend time in. Its immediate neighbourhood is on the gritty side, and you may be able to hear noise from the street from inside the home but it's a nice, well-priced base, with lots of natural light and high quality appliances. 
 

Scandi Colocasia

This chic little apartment is the perfect LA base for those wanting a home-from-home setting. The apartment is bright and welcoming, with a Scandi feel and quirky touches that make it nice and cosy. 

It can be found at the heart of Chinatown, so you’re in a lively part of town and also never far from your next great meal. You can hop in a cab and be Downtown in six minutes, so it couldn’t be easier to explore the Arts District’s museums and hip restaurants. Echo Park is also just six minutes away by car, and sports fans will be pleased to learn that they can stroll from the apartment to Dodger Stadium in just twenty minutes. This apartment is a great base for exploring, whether you’re in LA for business, leisure, or a mixture of the two.  



Glass & Gold

Even though this is a studio apartment, we are blown away by the amount of space. The kitchen is well stocked and provides an attractive space for guests to enjoy their morning coffee or a bowl of cereal. Situated in one of LA’s coolest new neighbourhoods, this pocket of Silverlake is quiet and residential, yet it is in close proximity to great parks, shops, restaurants and a trendy, but low-key nightlife scene. Staying here will give guests a truly local experience. 

Sun of a Gun

Smoked Brass is a bit of an all-around gem. Dating back to the 1920s, it's designed as a space to live in rather than an art installation to be admired as such. Sophisticated yet cosy interiors present a comfortable space that combines contemporary style with classic furnishings throughout the home. We particularly love the cottage-like grid windows that add a touch of the English countryside to this Californian mid-century home. With flora and fauna aplenty, the garden offers a sanctuary of peace and serenity and, importantly – privacy. And while pools aren't uncommon in these parts of the city, this one is particularly delightful. Spend your days sipping iced coffee on the day beds, with the option to take a relaxing dip, should the California sunshine with heat. The local area of Pasadena offers different prospects to some of L.A's glitzier areas as it is generally a much quieter and more residential area. However, with everything you need within walking distance (if not a quick drive out), this place serves as a dreamy 'escape' from the city while still only a half an hour drive away from Hollywood and Downtown L.A.
