Right in the beating heart of Venice, yet situated on one of the quietest and most picturesque streets in the neighbourhood, this seaside home is a tranquil haven. Skylights illuminate the rooms, decorated in neutral tones with pleasing dusky pinks, soft blues and sandy tones to echo the coastal surroundings and unforgettable LA sunsets. Your host has made great use of small nooks and inaccessible corners to create mini sanctuaries within the larger seating area and by the doors into the courtyard garden. Wooden floors, jute rugs and an abundance of greenery all contribute to creating that all-important connection with nature and making you feel at peace.

Explore the neighbourhood, and you'll find any number of fabulous cafes, bars and restaurants right on your doorstep. Local standouts include Felix Trattoria and Plant Food + Wine, both just a few minutes away on foot. You're about a half-mile from the shore and the famed Venice Skatepark facing the ocean if you head towards the coast. Head to a rooftop bar to take in the vistas while sipping a cocktail in the balmy weather - the ideal way to cap off a beautiful day.


Dance to Your Own Drum

This classic Venice bungalow is all about those Californian good vibes. Dating back to the 1920s the home echoes the bohemian nature of the neighbourhood, with an authentic, laid-back feel and an eclectic mix of vintage furniture. Inside, there are period features like the pretty arched window and the wood floor, along with a fully equipped kitchen and two bedrooms. But it's the garden that's the real selling point here. Green, secluded and quirky in its own uniquely Venice way, it's a place to escape with your friends and family. Eat at the outdoor dining table, light the fire pit and sit out under the string lights at night. In the morning, grab one of the home's bikes and cycle down to the beach, or bring your boards and head out for a day surfing. A converted garage provides an extra studio bedroom for two in the garden, which can be rented along with the main house. A half-hour stroll from Abbot Kinney Boulevard and all its shops, restaurants and galleries, there’s always something to do in this buzzing part of LA.

Surfers Paradise

This architectural gem of a home boasts a prime position above Bel Air. It’s a short drive from Beverly Hills, the Getty Museum, movie studios, and excellent hiking trails. The sand and shore of Santa Monica are only a twenty-minute drive away. Glass features heavily in the design of this home, with floor-to-ceiling windows in both bedrooms and in the beautiful living and dining space. Outside, a large patio leads to a lawn with a peaceful koi pond and incredible views of Los Angeles. 

Ethereal Hills

Far-reaching sea views, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore below, and direct beach access – what’s not to love about this Malibu home? Perfect for friends and families alike, it’s impossible not to relax here. If you’re not paddling in the Pacific, a mere 100ft walk away, hop in the car to see the sights of LA. Malibu Pier and Venice Beach Boardwalk are within easy reach, or take around a twenty-minute drive to Topanga State Park where hiking trails and stunning vistas await. 

Pacific Sunbeam

A stay on Sunset Boulevard doesn’t get much better than this. In a secluded spot, this light-filled, sun-drenched home is high in the hills above Santa Monica, bracketed by the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by tall trees and privacy-providing hedges, this stunning home makes liberal use of Crittall-style windows to illuminate its thoughtful and beguiling interior. With light streaming in through a wall of windows, it’s hard not to fall in love with the glamorous dining area, although there’s a strong chance you’ll be wanting to dine alfresco at the vast outdoor table on the shaded terrace. Out here, you’ll also find a comfy chill-out zone that’s perfect for evening drinks, your private bar, a treehouse to keep the kids entertained, and a freeform pool and hot tub. Back inside and the home is all clean lines, white marble, honey-hued wood and the occasional pop of vibrant colour, with classic gold accents. We love the vast master bedroom with its four-poster bed, fireplace, and en-suite with rolltop tub and aquamarine-tiled shower. The other three bedrooms are very much kid’s rooms, but they’re so elegantly and beautifully decorated we think it's fair to say most adults will feel very much at home here too, as they will in the well-stocked games room.

Marble & Honey

This is a show-stopping Tuscan villa is in the heart of Santa Monica. It’s just a ten-minute walk in either direction to the beach or downtown. But the truth is, you may never want to leave as this place was designed for entertaining. The entire, high-ceilinged basement level is dedicated to hedonism, with a cocktail bar, wine vaults and home theatre. A gym and steam room mean you can keep up your exercise schedule between indulgences. There are plenty more places for the group to spread out – in the grand lounge by the fireplace, in the sunny reading room in the garden, or the family snug around the TV. If work calls, there’s an executive-style study with everything you need in a personal office, and there’s even a separate study space for kids with computers, a blackboard and a writing desk. The home’s courtyard is a fabulous set-up up, with a heated salt-water swimming pool at its centre and loads of seating space to enjoy a tipple or full meal outside. It’s hard to top this home for luxury in Santa Monica.


The Magician's Lair

Realtors use the term ‘walk score’ to determine the quality of life in a house without a car – and we're scoring this beautiful Venice home a whopping 100%! Its location just five minutes from Abbott Kinney, dozens of shopping boutiques, Venice Beach and the Venice Canals makes this home's locale incredibly hard to beat. Inside, the interiors are newly renovated and feature laid-back Melbourne styling influences as well as occasional oriental accents dotted around the home in the form of artwork and antique pieces. We particularly love the super sociable kitchen and dining room area, with its huge open space, guests can enjoy cooking sessions together or more simple aperitifs either at the long dining table or perched around the sleek kitchen island. With plenty of natural light flowing through the home, there's no need to go outside to benefit from the California sunshine, as the serene setting allows you to wake up feeling all the more refreshed and energised with reach and every day spent here.

Slip seamlessly into life in Westwood at this serviced apartment. Ideal for work or pleasure, the apartment is right next to UCLA’s campus and a short drive from Century City. Head to the gym for a morning sweat before settling in for a day of work. Should you so please, you have access to dog walking, dry cleaning, and housekeeping to make your day stress free. Finish out the day with a drink on the rooftop terrace as the sun goes down over LA. You will feel like a resident upon arrival to this trendy boutique apartment. 

Prince of Bel-Air

Between Malibu and the Palisades, this coastal home is right on the sapphire shores of the Pacific Ocean. Despite being just a ten-minute walk from the antiquities collection of Getty Villa, the interiors here are quite the opposite. This spacious, modern house has muted brown wooden floors alongside a colour scheme of whites and neutrals, which feels clean and fresh. But little touches such as fluffy cushion covers and a cream-tiled fireplace bring warmth if you need it. 

The understated and minimalist decor emphasises the striking backdrop – take in wide ocean vistas from the enormous windows and doors opening to your private balcony. Sip your iced latte here in the morning as you take in the Pacific breeze. 

Just six minutes away, Ratner Beach is a perfect spot for a sunrise swim. Grab a beach towel (kindly provided by your host) and head to the shores. Palisades Village is just over ten minutes by car, where you’ll find restaurants and boutiques. Or take a fifteen-minute ride to Santa Monica Pier to enjoy the funfair by day, and a corn dog under the glow of neon lights by night.

Papiri Bronze

Where to start with a home like this? A classical French chateau set in Beverley Hills, with plenty of space both indoors and out, it's practically dripping in opulence. We'll start with the incredible dual staircase, perfectly suited to making a proper Hollywood entrance to any evening soiree (or perhaps a romantic wedding?). Packed with imposing features like ornate ceilings, tall windows, chandeliers and fireplaces, the home has been modernised to bring it into the 21st century with a colour scheme of whites and dark greys, designer furnishings and contemporary styling. Formal entertaining space comes in the form of grand reception rooms, a dining room and a wet bar that opens to the terrace, while a comfy home cinema and outdoor lounge areas make for casual places to hang out as a family or group of friends. There's a beautiful pool and hot tub, surrounded by lush planting, and we particularly love the first floor's spacious terrace with its verdant views. The master suite is the height of luxury, with a lounge and fireplace, and a gorgeous bathroom with a sauna, steam shower and walk-in wardrobe, while all the bedrooms benefit from private en-suites. Elsewhere in the home, there's a gym and a wine cellar, along with a garage if you're bringing your classic car with you. From here it's just an eight-minute drive to Rodeo Drive, with all sorts of fine dining and world-class shopping options nearby.

La Baroque

Nestled among the trees, this home is made for soaking up the Californian sunshine. The main house features six bedrooms, a sleek kitchen, office, and wine bar, while a separate guest house offers one bedroom, a kitchenette, and living space — perfect for extended family or visiting friends. Between the swimming pool, built-in barbecue, basketball court, gym, and home cinema, there’s more than enough to keep everyone entertained. When you fancy a change of scene, take your pick from the boutiques and restaurants of Beverly Hills or Santa Monica’s beaches – both are just a twenty-minute drive away.

Californian Living

This chic home in Santa Monica will have you unwinding in no time with its relaxed Californian vibe of whitewashed walls, surfboards and natural finishes. There’s a couple of living spaces to spread out in – perfect for family or friends. The star of the show, though, is the garden – we adore it. There’s a barbecue, a badminton net, a pavilion, and an enormous lawn to have fun on. And if that wasn’t enough to do outdoors, Sorrento Beach is just over a ten-minute walk at the end of the road, or cycle there on the bikes provided. Have a saunter there with the surfboards or simply top up your tan on the warm sands – utter bliss. After all that fresh sea air, relax by the fire pit in the shaded outdoor lounge or cosy up in the teepee with its faux fur cushions and throws for an evening under the stars.
