Your hosts have lovingly created a space that invites you to relax, recuperate and engage in creative projects for a vacation you won't soon forget. They've even gathered a series of recipes from professional chefs, developed specifically for the cabin. Filled with original works of art and surrounded by mountains, this lodge is a haven for those that need to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle. Once you book, your hosts will put you in touch with a personal concierge who can take care of everything. Get cosy and comfortable in front of the fire, enjoy lavish dinners under the vaulted ceiling, go for long walks in nature (the Pine Mountain hiking trails are five minutes away) and be sure to sit out at night and gaze up at the stars.

Treat yourself to a romantic getaway and escape from everyday life at this beautiful home, ideally located a two-minute drive away from downtown San Clemente. Enjoy your morning coffee on the private roof deck while you admire the outstanding ocean views. Whip up a delicious breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen, or visit the exquisite restaurants on nearby Del Mar Street. Stroll across the street to soak up the sun at San Clemente State Beach, or visit the popular surf spots at San Mateo Point to catch waves instead of rays. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the nearby Pruneridge or Sunken Gardens courses. Many sought-after destinations such as San Deigo and Anaheim are easily accessible with a journey on Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner route, while the San Clemente Summer Weekend Trolley will take you on a round trip from the pier to the outlets. 

El Camino

We're rolling out the red carpet with this mega-mansion set within an exclusive country club in the Camarillo hillsides. The on-site cinema room, gym, games room, showstopping pool and alfresco dining pavilion will keep you entertained from day to night. But for a change of scene, the country club's shared 18-hole golf course, fitness facilities and on-site restaurant are just a golf-buggy ride away. You'll need a car for anything else – but that's nothing new in California, where the car is king.  

In the Dream House

Built in 1928, this quirky bungalow is filled with bijou charm and plenty of character. Located down a winding narrow lane in the East End neighbourhood of Ojai  — a six-minute drive to the town centre — its major selling point is the aura of absolute peace and serenity. The surrounding landscape is dominated by the dramatic mountains and the hosts have planted a gorgeous array of leafy vegetation in the garden, including fruit and pepper trees. Inside, it’s cottagecore with a Californian twist. A few of our favourite features include the all-encompassing wood panelling of the living room and master bedroom, the vintage dressers in the kitchen and the colourful woven bedspreads. For extra boho vibes, a former artist’s studio flooded with natural light has been converted into an additional bedroom. Spend all afternoon around the pool before lighting up the barbecue and having dinner under a pink sunset.

The Pepper Tree

Nestled near the canyons of Santa Barbara, this home offers beautiful views and the ideal opportunity for a private retreat. It’s also just a ten-minute drive to the nearest beach and amenities – making this a great option for those in search of action and relaxation. Wherever the day takes you, the terrace makes it easy to switch off and watch the sunset. There is also a fire pit and a barbecue as well as two indoor fireplaces – perfect for cosy movie nights. 

Canyon Bliss

A home for California swell chasers to search out, this home will have you in the water in no time, with the sands of San Clemente a five-minute drive from your front door and some of SoCal's best beach breaks within an hour's drive.

However, that's not to say that if you're not a surf pro, you won't find something for you here. Your host provides some boogie boards for the kids and beach chairs for a slightly more sedate experience down at the beach. But a stay here isn't just about the coastline, with hiking trails, pristine golf courses, and shopping are all a stone's throw away. 

The vibrant home itself shouldn’t go without a mention – its shared roof terrace makes for a wonderful spot to watch the sunset over the sea. Indoors, the coastal inspiration is clear. Shades of blue give the bedrooms a sense of the sea, while a mix of wooden tables and shoreside inspired ornaments continues the theme in the living areas.

California Boardin'

This magical Montecito home has it all – including a secret passageway leading to a wine cellar. The estate features lush gardens, a heated pool and spa, and pretty terraces perfect for early-evening cocktails. Cinephiles will love the home theatre, and everyone can enjoy dining in the dreamy vine-clad garden room. A series of guesthouses sit alongside the main house, making this a wonderful choice for a group of couples – there’s plenty of space. 1920s aristocratic opulence blends with contemporary style here, and the result is simply breathtaking. 

Montecito Oasis

Settle into a relaxing pace of life at this stylish southwest-style home in California’s sunny Orange. With its wood floors, large windows and Navajo-inspired decor, you’ll instantly feel the laid-back Cali vibes here, especially with your private balcony to soak up some rays. With a dedicated desk space too, you’ll have no trouble catching up on work, but with countless shared facilities to enjoy within your building's grounds, we recommend less work and more play.

Head to the on-site gym for a morning workout or stake your claim on one of the outdoor bicycle machines before making a beeline for the shared pool. While away hours taking refreshing dips in its waters or bask under the sun on one of the countless deck chairs on the communal lawn. With shared lounge rooms boasting a pool table, shuffleboard, fireplaces and giant screens, as well as several courtyards inviting games of foosball and ping pong and alfresco barbecues, you’ll be entertained from dawn till dusk. 

Outside of your home, you’ve got plenty to see and do too – spend an afternoon swimming and surfing at Newport Beach (a fifteen-minute drive away) or explore the seaside resort city of Laguna Beach (a twenty-two-minute drive). You're also just a ten-minute drive from the magic of Disneyland, while Hollywood's bright lights can be reached in just under forty minutes by car. 


Southwest Señorita

Nestled between Lake Arrowhead and majestic Big Bear Lake, this historic A-Frame home was the first of its kind in this special part of California. Now, you can experience its unique magic along with a whole range of luxurious amenities. From the cedar hot tub and outdoor fire pit to the cosy rooms and incredible views, this is the perfect setting for a rejuvenating retreat. There’s also plenty to keep you entertained with games, a barbecue and hiking trails straight from the door. Private parking is available for one car and it’s just a short drive to Running Springs, Sky-Park and Big Bear Lake.

Top up your Californian tan on the sundeck and then cool off in the private pool. In the evening, fry up a feast with the family on the BBQ and crack open a beer beside the firepit. 

Golden State

From its chic interiors, individually designed bedrooms and exquisite rooftop terrace, To All A Goodnight is the perfect beach escape for a group of friends or families with kids. In order to maximise on the ocean views, this home has a reverse floor plan with the living area on the top floor. Spend your days whipping up delicious meals in the state-of-the-art kitchen, enjoy a movie night with the cosy fireplace, or indulge in magical sunsets from the deck. There is even an outdoor cooking station and a bar waiting for you. Although we wouldn’t blame you if you spent the entirety of your trip at this wonderful home, you’re also located just a mile from the beach and tonnes of great restaurants, cafes and shops. As far as we’re concerned, To All A Goodnight ticks just about every box.

To All A Goodnight

This cosy abode blends comfort with outdoor living. Though within close proximity of two farmhouses, there’s nothing twee or rustic about its style; think sleek and sharp interior design. An open archway bridges the space between the sitting room, kitchen and dining room, while large windows and French doors frame the picturesque mountains. From the modern chandelier to the stone floor and soaking tub – complete with lavender bath salts, perfect for tired muscles after long hikes through the countryside – we love how this home brings contemporary luxury to a rural setting. The romantic atmosphere continues in the ten-acre grounds, where a patio, fire pit and outdoor dining area boast spectacular views. This home’s prime location puts you a five-minute car ride from Paso Robles wine trail. Or, you can walk to Jack Creek Cellars, just three minutes across the street, for a glass or two with your date and not have to worry about the drive home.
