Our favourite spot, however, is the wraparound balcony – the ideal place to sip your morning coffee or watch the sunset over the mountains over a glass of wine.  Outside of your home, you’ve got plenty of cute surf shops and cafes on your way to Pacifica State Beach (a ten-minute walk) – a favourite for surfers, photographers and nature enthusiasts – while San Francisco waits to be explored, just twenty minutes away by car. 


Sycamore Cove

Light upon the Lake is one of those homes that feels totally familiar in the best way. This recently remodelled cabin combines modern amenities with traditional architectural features to create a welcoming space and a perfect home-away-from-home. Light upon the Lake is just a short walk from Tahoe City, one of the most popular locations on Lake Tahoe. Famous for its beautiful views of the lake, easy access to tonnes of hiking and mountain biking trails, and plenty of great restaurants and funky bars, this location is one that caters to all.

It's also a favourite amongst surfers, so whether you like to be part of the action or watch it all from a safe distance, Pacifica State Beach caters to all. There is a range of surf shops and some great local eateries on your doorstep too. For those who want to see more than just the coast, San Francisco is less than a twenty-five-minute drive away. When you're done exploring all that the San Francisco Peninsula has to offer, head home and rustle up a cioppino in the modern kitchen. We love the balcony with its views over the neighbourhood – perfect for a sundowner. Black Walnut Cove

Surrounded by the stunning nature of Bennett Valley, this one-acre compound is nestled between two seasonal creeks and surrounded by heritage oaks and acreage. Made up of three separate buildings with their own private outdoor spaces, this is the perfect location for large groups or multiple families to have enough room to stretch their legs while still being in close proximity to one another. Stay secluded from the outside world in your beautiful patch of Eden, while being only minutes away from fantastic local restaurants, wineries, golf, parks and shopping. It’s the perfect mix of business and downtime, with Bedwell Bayfront Park just across the road for a morning jog or leisurely stroll, and plenty of trendy eateries in the area. Plus, it’s just a half-hour drive into the heart of San Francisco, just up the bay.

There’s plenty within the building to fill your downtime. Swim laps in the huge outdoor swimming pool, or laze on a lounger in the sun. There’s a barbecue area dappled with stringed lights and fire pits in the outdoor lounges if you’re feeling social. Inside the apartment block, you’ve got a full gym with its own yoga studio, cafés and myriad plush lounges. Should you crave some privacy, the apartment is kitted out for relaxation in the open-plan living area, and convenient for working remotely with a laptop-friendly desk. The kitchen is particularly spacious and well-equipped with a big breakfast bar for busy mornings.

Just outside of the village of Calistoga in the northernmost tip of the Napa Valley, you'll encounter this rustic yet refined retreat surrounded by acres of verdant vineyards and lush gardens. With no nearby neighbours, enjoy that all-too-rare feeling of seclusion, yet the convenience of only being a mile and a half from downtown Calistoga. The estate is divided across three adjacent villas – which helps maintain privacy for large family get-togethers and groups of friends – while there's a yurt on the grounds that makes for an adventurous option for the kids. In addition to the usual high-end outdoor amenities, you'll also find professional-standard courts for sand volleyball, bocce ball and tennis. We sense a bit of friendly competition. Take a peek inside the barn, and you'll find a private games room with a pool table, ping pong, air hockey, and dartboard and a large rose garden adjacent to the villa, which provides fresh roses daily.

Enjoy mesmerising views and direct beach access from this Pacific Ocean retreat. You’ll also find a private hot tub overlooking the water, a putting green and a fire pit for magical evenings under the stars. Inside, there’s a cosy and welcoming living room for socialising as well as plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the views. Private parking is available and you’ll find it’s less than a ten-minute drive to Half Moon Bay, while San Francisco is twenty-five minutes away.  

Wonder of the Waves

Get away from the everyday at this lovely riverside cottage, located on the shores of the Russian River in Forestville, Sonoma County. This home is sophisticated, warm and welcoming, with a covered terrace where you can admire the lush leafiness around you, as well as the views of the water. Outside, a hot tub invites you to soak away your worries, while a fire pit allows for evenings spent sipping cocoa under the stars. The shore is located at the bottom of the backyard, with a canoe for you to embark on adventures down the river.
