There’s no denying you’re in the mountains as cathedral-height windows put the view of snow-topped La Plata mountain pride of place in the living room. While space isn’t one of this home’s strong points – even a solo traveller might find the bathroom a bit of a squeeze – it has everything you need for a comfortable stay and benefits from an enviable position on the edge of downtown Aspen. And more importantly, having received a full makeover in 2022, it’s the kind of place you’ll be happy to come home to after an action-packed day on the slopes.

Rock It to Me

All eyes are on the mountains at this slick, cabin-style apartment in Telluride, whether that be from the floor-to-ceiling windows or as you hit the slopes only eighty metres from home. Hardwood floors, an eye-catching antler chandelier and a modern take on the classic roaring fireplace all give off a serious alpine ambiance, while squashy sofas and a deep bath provide practical comfort after a long day exploring the peaks. The home offers up a charming wooden terrace, where come warm days, you can fire up the barbecue for an alfresco feast or on cooler days, brave a cup of coffee on the wrought-iron furniture and check out the conditions before hitting the slopes. A black, quartz-topped kitchen has everything you need for refuelling, with a good range of utensils for culinary experimentation, though the gondola into the centre of town isn't far if you're in the mood for a night off.

Nestled in Telluride, a town tucked in a box canyon surrounded by 13-14,000-foot Colorado mountains, you'll feel blessed to look out on stunning snowy peaks all day long. We know some people aren't keen on getting up early for breakfast (especially on holiday), but the early morning views of the Rocky Mountains from the dining table will be enough to wake up even the heaviest sleeper.

Being situated so close to mountains means only one thing – amazing skiing in close proximity.
