Location is everything here! Situated on a really charming street in Greenwich Village, The Itty-Bitty is perfectly positioned to some of the city's best restaurants and bars. This is a 300-square foot walk-up, but so long as you don't intend to do some serious cooking or massively spread out, this cosy apartment will do just the trick.

Nestled in New York City's vibrant Flatiron neighbourhood, this pet-friendly studio makes a fabulous base for business and leisure trips. The kitchenette is small but well-equipped for rustling up light bites or a quick breakfast, and with plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area, you'll want for nothing when it comes to trying out local cuisine. The nearby subway opens up the city for commuting and sightseeing, while hotspots like Madison Square Park, the Empire State Building, and NYC's bustling Koreatown are an easy walk away.

The Heart of Flatiron

This apartment is ideally suited to those looking to drop their bags and head out from the get-go. Its major draw is the fabulous location, placing you in the thick of NYC. Just a short walk away you'll reach the iconic Flatiron Building, the Empire State Building, and Union Square – though this does mean that some noise should be expected. Inside, it's surprisingly spacious for a studio flat, with a kitchen and dining area tucked neatly around the corner. There's a sofa bed for flexible sleeping, but we only recommend this for younger children.

While this home may be modest in square footage, it sure is mighty. Packing a punch in both convenience and amenities, a solo traveller or couple will be very happy here. With an impressive private terrace – that's almost as big as the home itself – you can thoroughly enjoy some downtime after a busy day with an aperitif under the stars. When you do find yourself at home, there's a comfortable sofa, writing desk and kitted-out kitchen complete with washer and dryer – a rarity in an NYC studio – so you can show up and start living as soon as you arrive. And did we mention that it's only a ten-minute walk to the Flatiron building? Continue for ten minutes more and you’ll reach the Empire State, the Morgan Library and Museum and the tucked away barbecue joints of bustling Koreatown.

We could certainly tell on viewing that this apartment is owned by a creative director and designer. You can really live like a local in this home's location as well. This Lower Manhattan neighbourhood is known for its cobblestone streets lined with fashionable boutiques and chic restaurants or soak up the atmosphere in nearby China Town. Gramercy Park is a small pocket of Manhattan known for its upscale eateries and village atmosphere, and your prime locale puts you within easy walking distance of both the Flatiron Building (ten minutes) and the Empire State Building (twenty minutes). We recommend popping over to Union Square Greenmarket (a thirteen-minute walk) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays for some fresh fruit and veg to use in a delicious dinner at home. Or if you're in the mood to go out, grab a drink and a bite to eat at one of the neighbourhood's buzzing bars, restaurants and 24-hour delis.

This home doesn’t try too hard, and that’s part of its charm. The building is almost a hundred years old, and as it used to be a tenement block, there would have been four or five places in the space that this roomy home now takes up. The living area benefits from large windows and tonnes of natural light, making the plush grey sectional a lovely spot to spend the afternoon reading or napping. Of course, if you have work to do instead, the corner desk is all set up for hitting the ground running. Prepare an elaborate feast in the huge kitchen (massive by New York standards) and enjoy it at the elegant dining table. There’s lots of exciting artwork (and taxidermy) around, contributing to the home’s quirky personality, plus two newly renovated bathrooms - no morning queues here. When you’re ready to explore, you’ll be deep in the East Village, with endless options for good, hip restaurants and watering holes that range from dive bars to artisanal cocktail destinations. Plus, you’re just a four-minute walk from Tompkins Square Park, where you can enjoy one of the city’s lovely green spaces.

From the moment you step inside this New York loft apartment, you can tell the owners are an artist and a chef. One bedroom is a little small but both are perfectly comfortable and the vast loft-style living area makes up for it. You’re in the heart of Tribeca here where the movie-set-like cast iron loft buildings are home to endless restaurants, bars and even food markets. Plus, the Lower East Side is right next door.

Located in East Village, this apartment is ideal for a solo traveller or couple visiting the city. You'll have countless eateries, trendy bars, and casual cafes on your doorstep, as well as the popular green space of Tompkins Square Park. At home, it's stylish and uncluttered so you can sprawl out and relax at the end of a busy day exploring Manhattan. If you're looking to work while you're away, there's a work desk area in the bedroom – though it's also worth noting that some street noise should be expected.

Is there anything more quintessentially New York than exposed brick walls? We don't think so, and this studio flat in Gramercy Park delivers on that front. This apartment may be snug, but it has plenty of style – we're obsessed with the orange sofa, for instance – and the space is super cosy. There's even a patio with a lush outdoor sofa and a picnic table, which is rare for this part of town. When the weather is nice, sit out there with a glass of wine and soak up the sunshine, whiling away the sultry summer evenings. We're not going to deny that the kitchen is pretty compact, but that's all part of the charm of living like a true New Yorker. It's well-stocked with everything you need, but seeing as space is tight, we think you'll lean towards dining out. If that's the case, you're in luck – Gramercy Park has an array of upscale eateries and trendy bars for you to try. Also nearby is the farmer's market at Union Square – a fifteen-minute walk – which has fresh fruit and veg if you decide to rustle up a meal. This is a quieter spot, but it's still close to all the sights – you can walk to Times Square in half an hour, but 23rd Street Station is a ten-minute stroll if you'd rather take the subway.

Perfect for a couple or lone business traveller visiting the Big Apple, this compact apartment in the Lower East Side places you within easy reach of restaurants, cafes, galleries and shops. It’s a small space, especially the bedroom, but it's comfortable and well-thought-out. Plus, it offers one bonus that many New York apartments don’t – on-street parking. Of course, a car isn't necessary, as there are plenty of Subway stations within walking distance for when you’re keen to hop across the city.

Situated in the heart of Union Square, this duplex apartment's prime location speaks for itself. From here, you’re within walking distance of NoHo’s galleries, Flat Iron’s restaurants and Greenwich Village’s bookstores and theatres – though if you feel like hopping on the subway, 14 St - Union Sq is moments away. This apartment is minimal and bright, though lacking a little character. For those in need of a productive workspace, one of the bedrooms features a laptop-friendly desk, while the living room sets the perfect backdrop for unwinding with a drink, accompanied by some tunes on the record player.

The Peach has been newly renovated and great care has gone into ensuring a comfortable stay (we're looking specifically at that rainfall shower!) This home has impressively squeezed a full kitchen, plus all the amenities you'll need, into a very small space without making it feel too cramped. Better yet, you're situated in Gramercy, a tree-lined neighbourhood with a distinct small-town feel in a super central location, it's no wonder so many A-listers call this part of Manhattan home. Join them in trying the many great restaurants and bars in this chic area. 

The Peach

This home is small – there's no way around it. What makes it stand out though is its efficient use of space and how the mid-century furniture creates a clean and simple look, making the space feel homely but not too busy. The bathroom has been recently renovated, although there are some scuff marks on the walls, and the kitchen is also of a high standard, albeit small. The best part is the outdoor deck, which is as big as the entire home and has tonnes of seating, so you can spend long evenings drinking wine with your friends. 

Colman’s

Experience one of New York's trendiest areas from this eclectic loft, nestled in the heart of Soho. With a well-equipped kitchen, breakfast bar and dining table, there's potential for eating in, but the cafes and restaurants lining the streets just outside your doorstep might convince you otherwise. Try a different one every day between visiting Rockefeller Park, Washington Square Park and China Town.  There's plenty else to see within walking distance, but the public transport links nearby can also get you to The Empire State Building or Manhattan Park in minutes.  That's a thumb's up on location – now throw in light-letting oversized windows, plenty of space and an office, and you're onto something.

We love this stylish home's location in hip Tribeca, a neighbourhood known for its cobblestone streets lined with fashionable boutiques and chic restaurants. Chinatown is a twenty-minute walk or eight-minute ride, while the One World Trade Centre is eight minutes on foot. The iconic Empire State building is a fifteen-minute drive (just over twenty minutes on the bicycles your lovely host Yvonne provides), or if you fancy some green space, Washington Market Park is a mere two-minute stroll.

Back at this apartment, head up to the gorgeous, private roof terrace and take in the views over the Freedom Tower. Inside, textural 3D artworks adorn the walls, and dark oak floors are enlivened with colourful rugs and furnishings. For the kids, there's a fantastic play area with plenty of toys, books and games. There's a home cinema set up too. Our favourite feature, though, has to be the swing in the living area – so random and yet so right. This playful home is perfect for a family.

If you like pared-down design and muted colours then look away now. This palatial home is a picture of vibrant pink walls, red velvet furnishings, and fabulous, original art pieces. Daringly glamorous, to stay here is to move into a dreamlike home with gold pillars, a marble fireplace and a grand white piano at its eclectic core. Fix up a couple of drinks at the swanky cocktail bar before playing games in a bright and airy viewing room, benefitting from a yellow semicircular sofa that belongs in the movies. Whether you're bringing the whole family along to bask in this luxurious home or having to work during your stay in the city, this apartment is perfectly suited. The children's bedroom is a colourful and playful space full of striking artwork adorning the walls, while you'll find a cosy dedicated office area with an extensive collection of literature, a guitar and serene green tones. Beyond this dazzling home, the delights of trendy Tribeca awaits. A stroll through the immediate neighbourhood will have you wandering past quintessential brownstone buildings, chic boutiques and plush bars. Visit the historic Brooklyn Bridge, under a twenty-five-minute walk away, or head to the scenic Hudson River, just half a mile from your door, for a breather from the pulse of the city. So, if you want to feel like you've stepped straight into an interiors magazine – you really could spend hours admiring the artwork here – in a great part of NYC, then look no further. This one's definitely ready for its Instagram close-up.

The desk is ideal for anyone working remotely, and while there is a fully-equipped kitchenette here, space is limited, so we’d recommend it for simple meals only. If you’d prefer to eat out, however, you couldn’t be better placed. From Michelin-starred restaurants to hole-in-the-wall eateries, there is no shortage of dining options in Manhattan. And when sightseeing is on the agenda, it’s an easy subway ride to the Empire State Building.

Dive headfirst into the ultimate New York experience. This home has a chef's kitchen and a barbecue for meals on the private terrace, as well as an outdoor lounge for post-dinner drinks. Though the space feels calm, the city sounds will gently remind you that you're in the heart of the Big Apple. Located on a charming cobblestone street in the South Street Seaport and built in 1793, this lovely, European-inspired loft was once an ice house. Sparely furnished and set across two floors with an intentional open-plan living space, the easy flow between rooms is freeing. Both levels boast wood-beamed ceilings and original artwork created by the host himself. While this isn't the most luxurious home on our books, it's cosy and bright, a fluid mix of rustic and modern. 


The Cobblestone

You’ll find this studio apartment in Gramercy Park, making it a great spot for both business and leisure travellers. As you’d expect from a studio, space is limited here. The kitchenette is small, but it’s equipped with enough to rustle up some light bites or late-night snacks – and with a plethora of restaurants in the nearby area, dining out is sure to be on the menu. And with easy access to the subway, you can head into the city for some sightseeing with ease. 

Gramercy Charm

Quirky details, like the exposed brick wall and fashion photography prints, inject character into this otherwise minimal home. The bedrooms are on the small side, but the beds are seriously comfortable, with a TV in both. It feels a bit compact, especially with the narrow shape of the kitchen and the dining table taking up most of the communal space. Nonetheless, the location in Nolita makes up for this – surrounded by little shops and cool restaurants, you won’t be spending much time cooking anyway.

Located just across from Stuyvesant Square Park, this modern apartment is the perfect city pad. If you’re here for work, your host provides a complete work setup with an ergonomic chair, ultra-high-definition monitor, and a wireless keyboard. We know you’ll want to maximise time during your stay, so the three en-suite bathrooms will make getting out the door that much quicker. Plus, with Netflix and Disney+ available on the TV, you’ll unwind effortlessly after a day perusing Union Square’s book shops, NoHo’s galleries and Chelsea’s markets.

The Park View

There are two things in this loft apartment in the Gramercy Park neighbourhood that you might not typically expect to see. The first is a baby grand piano (how did they get it up to the top storey is what we want to know), the second is the resident cat called Edith. Previous guests will attest to the fact that her presence is completely stress-free and even adds to the cosy factor when you're lounging about. This home has obviously been designed by somebody with an artistic outlook, as the walls are covered in prints and the shelves are jam-packed with books. Although we're guessing you didn't come to The Big Apple to just read. Go out the front door and you're on Park Avenue, right in the middle of Manhattan. Walk twenty minutes to your right and you'll reach the Chrysler Building, Ten minutes in the other direction will get you to the farmers' market at Union Square.

With a whopping 5,700 square feet, it doesn’t get much more spacious than this loft in NYC, stretching an entire block of Fifth Avenue. Inside you’ll find three large living areas, in sleek black and white with fur blankets adding a touch of comfort. The twelve-person dining table is crowned with a modernist chandelier above, like a work of art, and exposed pillars and huge windows throughout give you that real New York loft feeling. The kitchen isn’t short of space either, with a pendant-lamp lit island creating a social space during mealtimes, but there are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area if you want to eat out – you’re in the beating centre of New York after all. When the time comes to hit the hay, each bedroom has a king- or queen-size bed and each one has its own walk-in wardrobe so there’s no need to pack light.

Suite Life

Warm and cosy, despite New York City's cold temperatures come winter (don't worry there's air conditioning for the summer months too), this little alcove of an apartment is both a humble and practical choice to enjoy while in town on a short trip. Perfect for solo travellers or couples, in particular, you'll be amidst all of Manhattan's action here. While the location is this home's biggest attraction, its clean white interiors and studio layout invite guests to catch some respite with ease and comfort between activities from day through to night – you are in the city that never sleeps after all. Located just down the road from the Tenement Museum, the apartment sits in one of New York's most historic (and most authentic) neighbourhoods. The Lower East Side is known for its careful balance of grunge and chic, so if you're after a true New York experience (in terms of space as well), this is a great choice in an even better location. And since you’re so close to some of the best boutique shops, restaurants and bars in the city, chances are you’re likely to spend more time out than in, which makes this the perfect place to come back to after a busy day. 

The Alcove

Built in 1796, this red-brick townhouse is one of the oldest houses in New York City. While the exterior is a beautiful example of Federal architecture, the interior is all modernity with a sleek gourmet kitchen to please the fussiest of chefs and a huge main bedroom with a free-standing tub in the loft. Those working remotely can make use of the dedicated office room and there are additional workstations in some of the bedrooms. There’s plenty of room to spread out between the main lounge, the movie room downstairs and the private backyard furnished with a dining table.

Live like a real New Yorker at this loft home, located in one of the best neighbourhoods in the Big Apple. Situated between peaceful Kips Bay and affluent Gramercy Park, you'll have plenty of fashionable restaurants on your doorstep, while key attractions such as Madison Square Park and the Flatiron building are around a ten-minute stroll. Or browse the shops of Waterside Plaza, next to the East River, the same distance away.

Pick up some local delicacies from one of the nearby 24/7 delicatessens (this is the City That Never Sleeps, after all) to enjoy back at this studio. We love its exposed brick walls, large windows and cheery yellow sofa. It's the perfect place to rest your feet after a busy day of sightseeing or work if you're here on business (there's a desk here too).
