With Cooper Lake and the Mink Hollow hiking trail nearby, it’s effortless to reconnect with nature here. Back at home, this modern cabin considers your every need after a day out in Woodstock, just four miles away. There’s a hammock, sound system, record player and fire pit for cosy nights at home. And while the lofted bedrooms aren’t so private, there’s plenty of space for a couple of friends to spend quality time.

Hearthside Haven

Sitting alongside an enchanting creek, this cabin is a tranquil haven with a lot to offer. From the hot tub and wood fired sauna to the beautiful views, this is the perfect setting for a refreshing and romantic retreat. There’s also a barbecue, a pizza oven and a fire pit for magical night’s under the stars. Inside, the rooms are just as welcoming thanks to the cosy living room with a fire, the serene bedroom and the games room. Well behaved pets are welcome and you’ll find plenty to explore in the area. Follow nearby trails, discover charming towns and explore Lake Colgate and Hunter Mountain. 

The Creekside Cabin

Set within an acre of lush green grounds, this seriously charming home is just a twenty-minute drive from the centre of Sag Harbour - undoubtedly one of New York State's best-kept secrets. This centuries-old seaside village may be known as one of the most family-friendly places in the Hamptons, but its strictly adults-only activities include a visit to the nearby Wölffer Estate vineyards to sample their famed rosé cider. If hitting the many vintage stores in Sag Harbour isn’t on the cards, head out to explore the bay on one of the paddleboards or kayaks provided, by virtue of your own exclusive boat dock. Should that sound a little too energetic, you can also just take a dip in your private pool or luxuriate in the jacuzzi. The home is fresh, cool and contemporary while staying welcoming with warm rattan, bohemian touches, colourful books and art, and a rustic beachy feel. An aperitif on the pretty terrace is a must on balmy nights, or spend an evening around the fire with a movie in the cosy living room.

Long Point

Sweetwater Hideaway is a magnificently organic cabin nestled in the forestry Woodstock landscape.  The timber vaulted ceiling, exposed wooden beams and deep chestnut finishings create a grand interior. Inviting sofas set around a stone-walled fireplace and a quaint library nook add a homely, cosy element to the house that is furthered by the wonderfully rustic kitchen. Simple, elegant bedrooms have plush beds and plentiful dressing room, including one organically-inspired room and a bright, colorful dedicated children’s room. There are luxurious bathrooms that have exquisitely tiled walk-in showers and soaking tubs. The cabin is nestled into the beautiful natural outdoors, while also being near enough to Woodstock to wander through legendary town. Just take a short drive to the town centre to explore all the shops and restaurants there are, or perhaps head to the Overlook Mountain Trailhead for a wholesome day of hiking. 

Sweetwater Hideaway

Set between the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains, this spectacular 18th-century farmhouse is full of upstate New York charm. Nestled in 35 acres of secluded woodland, the house is a breath of fresh air less than two hours’ drive from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Step inside and you will instantly notice the owners’ keen aesthetic eye and attention to detail. Each room is bursting with character, and full of antique furniture, contemporary art, and vintage trinkets.  

The distinctive living room has a large wood burning fireplace and plenty of games for the kids. There is also a sun room which is perfect for relaxing in with a book. The farmhouse kitchen is well equipped with a range of appliances and cooking essentials. Upstairs, the palatial main suite comes with an office for remote working, a living area with its own fireplace and coffee station, and a claw-footed bathtub in the bathroom. The second and third bedroom have their own unique charm, and there is also a junior bedroom with plenty of toys and books for the little ones.

Outside, there is plenty to do and see. You can pick apples in autumn from your woodland (there are wellies at the house if it’s muddy!), go skiing and sledding in winter, or follow one of the nature trails leading to the creek. The village of Saugerties is a six-minute drive away, where you’ll find a grocery store, a farmer’s market and some laid back restaurants. 

The Dutch Farmhouse

A nature lover's dream atop a 100-acre historic farm in North Stonington, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This home offers a one-of-a-kind stay – spend your mornings in the fresh air helping the hosts tend to the farm animals in the tranquil setting to feel at one with nature – from feeding chickens and collecting eggs to brushing the horses and rooster calls here and there, but it's all part of the experience.

The home itself is chic and stylish, yet homey. Mornings are best spent sipping coffee on your patio while admiring the mountain and pasture vistas of your host's Texas longhorn cattle and horses. The living area is accented with slate grey throughout, while the brown provides an earthy sense to make you feel even more connected to your environment, and is ideal for cosying up after a long day of wandering through the unending greenery. We love that the second bedroom has an art studio for letting your creativity flow, where you can paint a stunning picture of the grounds you're staying on, as well as skylights, so you can fall asleep beneath the stars.

When you want to splash around in the sea, take a twenty-minute trip to Misquamicut State Beach, fantastic for the kids to spend a day at the beach while you sit back and relax. Alternatively, drive twenty minutes to the beautiful seaport village of Mystic and explore the foodie haven featuring the area's local meats, organic produce and seafood for a tantalising supper. Stop by Jonathan Edwards winery on the way to pick up a bottle of Pinot Grigio to enjoy back at the house around the fire pit with blankets wrapped around, or check out the dedicated bar area in the living room and craft your own cocktails. There's plenty of North Stonington's rich agricultural heritage to explore nearby, including cattle ranches, organic farms and vineyards (fifteen minutes away by car). 

Mystic Countryside Farm

If you’re in search of a coastal adventure or a relaxing beachfront escape, this home delivers the perfect solution. Nestled in Stonington village, you’ll be spoiled by beautiful views, an expansive two acres of lush grounds, a private pool and a tennis court. And while there’s everything you could need to enjoy the great outdoors, the rooms are just as inviting with a home theatre, a sauna, a wine cellar and plenty of socialising space across the living and dining rooms. You might find it hard to leave this peaceful sanctuary, but it’s just a short stroll to the nearest restaurants and shops.


Coastal Rhapsody

A haven of tranquillity, this serene home is perfect for recharging your batteries. Step inside and be soothed by the classic Hamptons style – think ample-sized living spaces designed for entertaining, calm colours inspired by the coast and oodles of windows flooding each room with natural light. It's the ideal family pad, especially with a lounge fit for kids (complete with a pool table) in the basement and a workout room (including a Peloton bike) that fitness buffs will appreciate. And there's no denying that there's plenty of space to spread out. Two main suites have parents and in-laws covered, the sunroom is an excellent spot to enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoons and the kitchen is a dream to cook in, with glossy tiles, high-end appliances and all the crockery you'll need.

Make your way outside and while away sunny days by the pool. Come evening, fire up the barbecue and tuck into an alfresco feast before gathering around the fire pit on the Adirondack chairs to watch the stars come out. The peaceful scenery is made even better by the excellent location. This home is tucked away on a tree-lined cul-de-sac that backs up to a nature preserve, with walking trails right on your doorstep. It's an easy seven-minute drive to the stores, restaurants and coffee shops in East Hampton, while Two Mile Hollow Beach and other stretches of sandy coastline are just eleven minutes away.

Summer Fridays

Sitting on the deck of this beautiful home in Rosendale, which overlooks the Catskills mountains in one direction and the woods in the other, you'd be forgiven for thinking you're secluded away, miles from civilisation. When in actual fact, Main Street is just down the road. However, the privileged location means that hiking and biking trails start right on your doorstep. After a day exploring the great outdoors, fire up the barbecue for an alfresco meal, or cosy up in front of the wood burner with a book. Inside, the simple, pared-back decor lets the jaw-dropping views take centre stage, with something to catch your eye in every direction. The home is well set-up for kids, with an art/music room, toys, games, books and even a trampoline in the back yard. The lack of TV and occasionally spotty internet connection means the stage is set to unplug from the virtual world and reconnect with the physical one. If you're not ready to let go completely, the quiet charm of Rosendale is just a mile away. Here, a local creative community thrives. Main Street is lined with independent boutiques selling locally made goods, while restaurants focus on farm-to-table eating. Craving some screen time? The Rosendale Theatre screens indie movies along with concerts and live productions.

Great Mountain

Have you ever wanted your very own slice of the Catskills? Of course, you have. Well, here's ten acres of it, to be precise. And it all comes with riverside deckchairs, a six-person hot tub, dense woods, and tubes for floating down the river. It's also safe to say that from this Big Indian Victorian manor, you'll have plenty of stellar hiking and ski resorts within a thirty-minute drive. Not to mention the Peekamoose Restaurant – just one minute away for moments when you don't feel like cooking. Of course, if you want to whip up your own culinary masterpiece, you'll have your enormous kitchen opening onto the outdoor deck, for leisurely riverside dinners too. Your host – a New York-based designer – has crafted the interiors to his idiosyncratic taste, so you'll find that the thoughtful touches such as Moroccan tiles, high-end bedding and paintings by local artists offer an unforgettable experience worth writing home about. So set off on endeavours into the private forest land – there's no better place to go on an adventure amidst nature in the Big Indian wilderness than here. Plus when you're ready to curl up at the day's end, there are plenty of snuggly spots to get cosy, whether that's inside the house, where you can make the most of the endless streaming options available from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and HBO. Or, if you'd rather spend your evenings in the great outdoors, gather around the fire pit with a cup of hot cocoa – ready to roast some smores. 

Which Way The River

Clued-up New Yorkers have slowly been turning their attention away from the Hamptons to this corner of countryside in Litchfield County. One step into this home, and we can see why they're making the swap. Set on six acres, this spot is a polished slice of serenity. Antiques from Europe fill the clapboard building, with Oushak carpets set on white oak floors. Gather the group for dinner under the chandeliers or curl up by the exposed brick fireplace come nightfall. The house has also been fully renovated. You'll find us in the sauna and steam shower, or making use of the studio with some yoga. Come summer, it's out to the decking for iced lemonade or soaks in the hot tub. When it’s time for something more serious, use the 16-foot quartz desk overlooking the garden. Your reward? Drinks at the wet bar.
