We absolutely love the views over the ocean from this home's communal pool deck. There's a gym for your daily workout and a sky bar, restaurant, lounge, entertainment hub, barbecue area and boutique here, too. The shared facilities are excellent, we have to say. There are more city views and sea glimpses to enjoy from this apartment's private wraparound balcony. Another feature we love is that both bedrooms open onto the terrace and have en-suites. We haven't mentioned the location yet. Well, you'll be near the popular Sea Point Promenade, while the V&A Waterfront is a five to ten-minute drive away.

Situated in Green Point, Cape Town, have a stroll around its namesake park with its lakes, jogging trails, and hedge maze. The park is also home to the Cape Town Stadium, which hosts sports and concert events. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to sample in the neighbourhood too.

We were particularly impressed by the kitchen area, furnished with the latest mod-cons, and featuring a breakfast bar where you can pour some champagne and share a toast. There’s also a dining set for tucking into delicious braai all together on summer evenings. But the true gem of the home is in its outdoor areas – the breathtaking views out to sea make the space feel special. The balcony features a private pool which provides the perfect place to cool off from the hot South African sunshine, while the alfresco dining set is great for sipping on sundowners and watching the sky turn pink.

If you’re not up for barbecuing, you can of course sample the eateries of the area. There are a couple of restaurants and cafes around a five-minute walk away. 

Spend sundrenched days at the beach – there are plenty of options to explore along the coast, including the famous Clifton Beach. Swim in the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, only a short walk away, or pick any one of the tens of hiking trails around – Lion’s Head is an especially popular choice and the starting point is only seven minutes away by car.

We love the laid-back vibe of this pad, with its lovely wooden floors and warm ambience. Enjoy movie nights with your loved ones, settling comfortably on the plush sofas in front of the fireplace. You can slide open the glass door and step directly onto the vast terrace and pool area, where you’ll also find a dining table with enough sitting for eight - should you opt for an indoor feast, there's an elegant table here too. On those balmy summer nights gather everyone outside for delicious dinners and barbecues under the stars. On hot afternoons, you can easily spend hours reading and relaxing on the comfy sun loungers by the pool. 

For a night of restful sleep, you’ll have a choice of three equally plush bedrooms, although our personal favourite has to be the master with a sleek ensuite bathroom. Treat yourself to an indulgent bubble bath, before drifting off to the land of sweet dreams in the luxurious king-sized bed. 

In the morning you’ll wake up refreshed and ready for another day of exploring. Head out to find yourself in a lovely neighbourhood, close to the picturesque beaches and with easy access to the centre of Cape Town. Why not start with brunch at your local Bootlegger Coffee Company, located just around the corner from your home. 

The Beachcombers 

Sitting directly across from the ocean, this beautifully styled apartment offers jaw-dropping views and immeasurable comfort in equal measure.

We love the laid-back beach vibe of the home’s decor with its panelled wood floors, nautical art prints and comfy, contemporary furnishings. Make yourself at home on the plump sectional as you watch the palm trees swaying from the floor-to-ceiling windows, or better yet, step out onto your private balcony as you listen to the waves rolling in over a bottle of South African wine at sunset. 

The main bedroom offers equally stunning ocean vistas from its picture windows, while both bedrooms offer luxe en-suites complete with a bathtub and rainfall shower respectively. 

Outside of your home, you’ve got the Sea Point Promenade for sunny waterfront ambles, while the Sea Point Pavillion has been cooling off locals and visitors alike with its seawater pools since the 1950s. Elsewhere, Milton Beach is a short stroll away too, as are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops for anything and everything you may need.

With glass balustrades so nothing gets in the way of your vista, it's the showstopper at this place near Robyn's Beach but it's far from the only thing we love about it. There's a superb private pool too, and a state-of-the-art home cinema system so you can screen some of your favourites in comfort.

Inside, this stylish home is all about bright whites and contemporary furnishings – think glossy kitchen units, a striking modern dining table and a big leather sofa. The open layout in the living space makes it perfect for socialising and a wall of sliding patio doors opens it up to the magnificent terrace, where you'll find a barbecue, an outdoor dining table and comfy seating – not to mention sea views you may find it hard to drag yourself away from.

From here it's just a short walk or drive to the rocky coast, Beta Beach or Camps Bay Tidal Pool, or head just a little further to the superb, sandy Camps Bay Beach. Table Mountain and the city centre are within easy reach by car too.

What's more, both bedrooms have direct access to either a courtyard or a balcony, making the rooms feel larger.

Located in Green Point and close to a number of restaurants and shops, as well as the Sea Point Promenade and the V&A Waterfront. If you enjoy hiking, venture to the Lion's Head path, which begins just opposite the apartment's entrance, so put on your hiking boots and surround yourself with the natural wonders with an excellent view of the city. Expect to snack your way through everything from biltong to Black Forest gateau while sipping fresh juices, coffee and craft beer at the Neighbourgoods Market.

With Beta Beach a stone’s throw away and the famous Camp’s Bay strip not much further, you can spend sunshine days laying back on the sand as you listen to the waves lapping the shore. 

Get in touch with nature by hiking one of the many trails in the surrounding area or visiting the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. When you’re not eating fresh seafood at one of the local restaurants, take to the sleek kitchen – the family gathered around the kitchen island to nibble as you go – and prepare a simple meal with the fresh produce available.
