But the standout features are the old stone brick walls and wood beamed ceilings, tying in a natural element to this super contemporary home. 

This home is the epitome of indoor/outdoor living, with large patio doors bringing you into the courtyard, which lies between the bedrooms and the living and kitchen area. We love how the wooden beams continue in the courtyard, which is so beautifully decorated that it barely feels like an outdoor area. Evenings spent here are particularly wonderful, enjoying candlelit meals and drinks around the outdoor dining table, before heading up to your rooftop to sip on wine and watch the city skyline sparkle against the dark. Of course, the rooftop is beautiful during the day too, with a small pool that's perfect for cooling off from the South African sun, but there's something about a skyline at night that feels extra special.

We absolutely love the views over the ocean from this home's communal pool deck. There's a gym for your daily workout and a sky bar, restaurant, lounge, entertainment hub, barbecue area and boutique here, too. The shared facilities are excellent, we have to say. There are more city views and sea glimpses to enjoy from this apartment's private wraparound balcony. Another feature we love is that both bedrooms open onto the terrace and have en-suites. We haven't mentioned the location yet. Well, you'll be near the popular Sea Point Promenade, while the V&A Waterfront is a five to ten-minute drive away.

This stunning, contemporary apartment, nestled against the base of Signal Hill, enjoys panoramic city and ocean views – open up the foldaway glass doors onto the balcony and watch the waves move along the ocean, as well as the endless sights to see with your morning coffee. Back inside, we love how the floor-to-ceiling doors let in light while you use the kitchen to prepare lunch to enjoy outside on the dining table shadowed by ancient artwork. What's more, both bedrooms have direct access to either a courtyard or a balcony, making the rooms feel larger.

If you enjoy hiking, venture to the Lion's Head path, which begins just opposite the apartment's entrance, so put on your hiking boots and surround yourself with the natural wonders with an excellent view of the city. From up on the second floor of this superbly modern block, you’ll love the views of the watery locale. It certainly makes it easier to plan the day ahead, choosing your next location from your balcony, morning espresso in hand. But the facilities here might also make you want to stay put. Keep up with your fitness regime in the residents’ gym, or take a swim in one of the heated pools. Your host can even arrange for massages, private chefs, and activities on your behalf. You can slide open the glass door and step directly onto the vast terrace and pool area, where you’ll also find a dining table with enough sitting for eight - should you opt for an indoor feast, there's an elegant table here too. On those balmy summer nights gather everyone outside for delicious dinners and barbecues under the stars. On hot afternoons, you can easily spend hours reading and relaxing on the comfy sun loungers by the pool. 

For a night of restful sleep, you’ll have a choice of three equally plush bedrooms, although our personal favourite has to be the master with a sleek ensuite bathroom. Treat yourself to an indulgent bubble bath, before drifting off to the land of sweet dreams in the luxurious king-sized bed. 

In the morning you’ll wake up refreshed and ready for another day of exploring. Head out to find yourself in a lovely neighbourhood, close to the picturesque beaches and with easy access to the centre of Cape Town. Catch a performance at Theatre On The Bay to experience comedy acts and theatre plays in this gorgeous little theatre venue. It won't be long until you crave a beach day, so take a four-minute drive to Camps Bay Beach to wander along the white sand while admiring the scenic mountain views before selecting the right area to relax for the day. Take a drive along the coastal route to Cape Point – the route will take you past breathtaking coastal scenery, including Muizenberg's colourful beach huts, Kalk Bay, Simon's Town, and Boulders Beach to watch the Penguins.

The city centre is just a twelve-minute drive away, housing a collection of fascinating museums and plenty of eateries serving traditional South African cuisine.

We love this home’s modern and trendy feel, with marbled surfaces, mirrored walls, luxe light fittings and sleek furniture. We were particularly impressed by the kitchen area, furnished with the latest mod-cons, and featuring a breakfast bar where you can pour some champagne and share a toast. There’s also a dining set for tucking into delicious braai all together on summer evenings. But the true gem of the home is in its outdoor areas – the breathtaking views out to sea make the space feel special. The balcony features a private pool which provides the perfect place to cool off from the hot South African sunshine, while the alfresco dining set is great for sipping on sundowners and watching the sky turn pink.

Sitting directly across from the ocean, this beautifully styled apartment offers jaw-dropping views and immeasurable comfort in equal measure.

We love the laid-back beach vibe of the home’s decor with its panelled wood floors, nautical art prints and comfy, contemporary furnishings. In the hills of Cape Town’s Camps Bay neighbourhood, this luxurious villa puts you between the hiking trails of Table Mountain and the surfer’s paradise of Camps Bay Beach. The Kasteelspoort Trail up to Table Mountain starts a twenty-minute walk away, and a four-minute drive sees you at Camps Bay Beach, lined with surf shacks, fashion boutiques, brunch spots and cocktail bars alike. 

At the home itself, you’ve got an inviting swimming pool waiting on the terrace. From here you can float in the cool water while admiring a view of the Atlantic Ocean stretching out before you.  Myriad terraces and glass-fronted balconies provide secluded spots for a sundowner on plush sofas or dining at a picnic-style table. 

Inside, it’s a sleek medley of grey, black and white with huge corner sofas big enough to fit the whole group for a chilled night in. Casual dining is on offer at the shining white kitchen island and there’s a banquet-sized table for a more formal set-up. Bedrooms are super plush and some have free-standing tubs in ensuites or perhaps direct access to a private balcony overlooking the ocean.

Wake up to the gentle sigh of the ocean and make a coffee in the stylish modern kitchen before padding onto your private balcony and gazing at the palm-lined beach and ocean. After a day in the sun, wind down with nibbles or a meal in the beach house-style interior. Don’t miss a spectacular sunset from your balcony with a glass of South African wine, although it’ll be hard to – you’ll end up spending most of your time here soaking up the magical views.

Take advantage of that by watching the tide change from the striped wing chairs, or grab a book from the small library and sink into the brown leather sofa – with the windows open, of course, you want to hear the lapping waves beyond. 

Get the coffee dripping first thing in the morning and once breakfast has been prepared, you can take it all out on the sun terrace where to eat alfresco. Breathe in the fresh, sea salt air from your position on the sunlouger, take a dip in the clear, solar-heated swimming pool, and when lunch inevitably comes around, be sure to try South Africa’s favourite pastime, the braai. If you’re not up for barbecuing, you can of course sample the eateries of the area. There are a couple of restaurants and cafes around a five-minute walk away. 

Spend sundrenched days at the beach – there are plenty of options to explore along the coast, including the famous Clifton Beach. Swim in the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, only a short walk away, or pick any one of the tens of hiking trails around – Lion’s Head is an especially popular choice and the starting point is only seven minutes away by car. 

After a long, tiring day, soak in a bubble bath with a glass of wine in hand. Afterward, why not sit out under the stars with koeksisters or peppermint crisp tart and end the day on a sweet note?
