For an exciting getaway in Cape Town, this brightly lit apartment is just the thing. Neutral tones sweep through the apartment, which is completely illuminated by the South African sun. It's tempting to have a lazy morning on this large terrace, sipping on coffee and enjoying the clear view of the mighty Table Mountain. Why not go see it up close? It's only a twenty-minute drive away. Hike to the top of the rugged mountain and take in the sweeping views of Cape Town. Or, if hiking's not your thing, Table Bay which lies at the mouth of the mountain is a beautiful stretch of white sand, backed by plenty of shops, restaurants, and of course, Table Mountain.

It's luxurious and modern, but the soft tones that run throughout the home keep it warm and comforting. But the standout features are the old stone brick walls and wood beamed ceilings, tying in a natural element to this super contemporary home. 

This home is the epitome of indoor/outdoor living, with large patio doors bringing you into the courtyard, which lies between the bedrooms and the living and kitchen area. We love how the wooden beams continue in the courtyard, which is so beautifully decorated that it barely feels like an outdoor area. Evenings spent here are particularly wonderful, enjoying candlelit meals and drinks around the outdoor dining table, before heading up to your rooftop to sip on wine and watch the city skyline sparkle against the dark. Of course, the rooftop is beautiful during the day too, with a small pool that's perfect for cooling off from the South African sun, but there's something about a skyline at night that feels extra special. 

Not only is this home incredibly stunning, but it's also in a great location. You're in the heart of De Waterkant, a vibrant neighbourhood teeming with coffee shops, art galleries, boutiques, bars, eateries, and more. It's the perfect blend between upmarket and trendy. Plus, you're within easy reach of Cape Town's beaches and the majestic Table Mountain.

Bamboo Sugar

Surrounded by The Twelve Apostles mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean, this colonial home in Camps Bay's best feature might be the large sash windows that create the illusion of being right in the water. Take advantage of that by watching the tide change from the striped wing chairs, or grab a book from the small library and sink into the brown leather sofa – with the windows open, of course, you want to hear the lapping waves beyond. 

Get the coffee dripping first thing in the morning and once breakfast has been prepared, you can take it all out on the sun terrace where to eat alfresco. Breathe in the fresh, sea salt air from your position on the sunlouger, take a dip in the clear, solar-heated swimming pool, and when lunch inevitably comes around, be sure to try South Africa’s favourite pastime, the braai. If you’re not up for barbecuing, you can of course sample the eateries of the area. There are a couple of restaurants and cafes around a five-minute walk away. 

Spend sundrenched days at the beach – there are plenty of options to explore along the coast, including the famous Clifton Beach. Swim in the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, only a short walk away, or pick any one of the tens of hiking trails around – Lion’s Head is an especially popular choice and the starting point is only seven minutes away by car. 

After a long, tiring day, soak in a bubble bath with a glass of wine in hand. Afterward, why not sit out under the stars with koeksisters or peppermint crisp tart and end the day on a sweet note?

We absolutely love the views over the ocean from this home's communal pool deck. There's a gym for your daily workout and a sky bar, restaurant, lounge, entertainment hub, barbecue area and boutique here, too. The shared facilities are excellent, we have to say. There are more city views and sea glimpses to enjoy from this apartment's private wraparound balcony. Another feature we love is that both bedrooms open onto the terrace and have en-suites. We haven't mentioned the location yet. Well, you'll be near the popular Sea Point Promenade, while the V&A Waterfront is a five to ten-minute drive away.

Trendy Seaside Retreat

Just a stone's throw from the V&A Waterfront, there's plenty to explore around this sleek apartment. You've got bustling Green Point and its array of lively nightlife, delicious restaurants and cute coffee shops within easy reach. Then there's the aquarium and museums right by the seaside, as well as breathtaking views of the Atlantic and Table Mountain from the top of Signal Hill. And with the buzz of Cape Town's City Centre also close by, we can't think of a more central spot.

The outdoor space may be a little on the small side, but we still think it makes a lovely place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee on a summer morning. Watch a romantic sunrise, with cups of sweet coffee in hand, as you snuggle together, or if you’re night owls, you might appreciate cocktails at sunset a lot more. Inside you can finish off breakfast in the sleek kitchenette and enjoy it sitting back in the beautiful, velvet dining chairs. 

Surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and with a gallery in close proximity, you can head out for a dose of Cape Town’s diverse culture - we especially recommend taking a drive through the colourful Bo-Kaap only five minutes away. This stunning, contemporary apartment, nestled against the base of Signal Hill, enjoys panoramic city and ocean views – open up the foldaway glass doors onto the balcony and watch the waves move along the ocean, as well as the endless sights to see with your morning coffee. Back inside, we love how the floor-to-ceiling doors let in light while you use the kitchen to prepare lunch to enjoy outside on the dining table shadowed by ancient artwork. What's more, both bedrooms have direct access to either a courtyard or a balcony, making the rooms feel larger.

Located in Green Point and close to a number of restaurants and shops, as well as the Sea Point Promenade and the V&A Waterfront. If you enjoy hiking, venture to the Lion's Head path, which begins just opposite the apartment's entrance, so put on your hiking boots and surround yourself with the natural wonders with an excellent view of the city. Expect to snack your way through everything from biltong to Black Forest gateau while sipping fresh juices, coffee and craft beer at the Neighbourgoods Market.

A Treasure Somewhere

This penthouse has a private roof terrace with incredible vistas over the city – it's the perfect spot for a barbecue lunch, followed by cocktails made at the bar. Or, later, go for a sunset dip in the communal rooftop pool – we love the vistas from here. Inside, take a seat on the huge, comfy L-shaped sofa and spend some quality time chatting with your family or friends. If you don't fancy eating out, rustle up a Cape Malay curry, open up the doors in the dining area to the balcony and enjoy your meal as a cooling breeze drifts in. 

Situated in Green Point, Cape Town, have a stroll around its namesake park with its lakes, jogging trails, and hedge maze. The park is also home to the Cape Town Stadium, which hosts sports and concert events. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to sample in the neighbourhood too.


African Sunsets

There are many highlights of this home, but the cosy terrace with incredible views of Table Mountain is the jewel in its crown. Inspiring and mesmerising, it adds a magical allure to the chic outside space. 

We imagine that outside space is where you'll spend most of your time. Whether it's sharing a pot of coffee for breakfast, tasting some biltong for lunch or watching the orange hues of sunset disappear beneath the mountain. 

The chic style of the terrace continues once inside the home. Authentically African artwork hangs on the walls and rustic artefacts are dotted around the living room.

If you wanted to visit an actual beach bar, there are many lined across the shoreline at Camps Bay. But mosey around slightly more locally and you'll find a nexus of restaurants, cafes and bars around the vibey streets of De Waterkant.

The Kasteelspoort Trail up to Table Mountain starts a twenty-minute walk away, and a four-minute drive sees you at Camps Bay Beach, lined with surf shacks, fashion boutiques, brunch spots and cocktail bars alike. 

At the home itself, you’ve got an inviting swimming pool waiting on the terrace. From here you can float in the cool water while admiring a view of the Atlantic Ocean stretching out before you.  Myriad terraces and glass-fronted balconies provide secluded spots for a sundowner on plush sofas or dining at a picnic-style table.

Luckily you’ve got somewhere to relax afterwards.

Modern and bright, this apartment is set on the ground floor of a shiny residential complex. With its own on-site gym and outdoor pools, you won’t be short of things to do. But the most wonderful thing about the setting is having gorgeous views of the marina right on your doorstep. With a leafy, green trellis shading your private patio, you can enjoy these vistas in serenity – with a glass of chilled South African wine in hand, naturally.

In the evenings, relax on stylish, mid-century furniture in the living space. The mixture of wooden features, bright colours, and marble tiled floors creates a sophisticated yet playful feel in the lounge. Arrive to be greeted by this home’s cheerful exterior, set against a stunning backdrop of the cloud-covered mountains and boasting partial sea views. The inside will greet you with a bright and cosy living room, with plenty of comfy spaces to lounge about and relax after a long beach day. We love the laid-back vibe of this pad, with its lovely wooden floors and warm ambience. Enjoy movie nights with your loved ones, settling comfortably on the plush sofas in front of the fireplace. You can slide open the glass door and step directly onto the vast terrace and pool area, where you’ll also find a dining table with enough sitting for eight - should you opt for an indoor feast, there's an elegant table here too. On those balmy summer nights gather everyone outside for delicious dinners and barbecues under the stars. On hot afternoons, you can easily spend hours reading and relaxing on the comfy sun loungers by the pool. 

For a night of restful sleep, you’ll have a choice of three equally plush bedrooms, although our personal favourite has to be the master with a sleek ensuite bathroom. Treat yourself to an indulgent bubble bath, before drifting off to the land of sweet dreams in the luxurious king-sized bed. 

In the morning you’ll wake up refreshed and ready for another day of exploring. Head out to find yourself in a lovely neighbourhood, close to the picturesque beaches and with easy access to the centre of Cape Town. Why not start with brunch at your local Bootlegger Coffee Company, located just around the corner from your home.

Nestled in the spellbinding suburb of Bishopscourt, this villa makes an impressive first impression by blending elegance and eclectic African pieces by local artists. The patio – complete with a swimming pool and ample outdoor seating – overlooks some of the mountains that make the mother city special, and those vistas stay mostly within view thanks to the architecture and large windows. With a private tennis court, gym, games room, and cinema, there’s plenty to occupy. The beach is a short drive away, and so is the golf course, but it’s Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden that's a must for any bucket list.
