Yorkville is a neighbourhood in the upper right part of the Upper East Side. For years, it was a very popular area for college students and young professionals thanks to its many affordable apartment options but today there are lots of luxury apartment blocks going up. In the face of this recent growth and development, the line has become more blurred between Yorkville and its much more affluent, sophisticated Southern neighbour, the Upper East Side. In the past, it has been regarded as a slightly non-descript part of town but Yorkville seems determined to redefine itself. It's a perfectly nice neighbourhood but perhaps just don't expect to be bowled over by charm or character.
