A lot of people don’t know this, but Lower Manhattan is where this infamous city was born. No other New York neighbourhood boasts a greater historical significance than Lower Manhattan. In fact, for centuries there was no New York City north of Chambers Street. Sights like City Hall, St. Paul’s Chapel and Trinity Church are some of the oldest surviving buildings in the country and not worth missing. Of course, we can’t talk about Lower Manhattan without mentioning The New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street. But don’t be put off by the idea that this is a commercial area.
