If you’re looking for spectacular views of Lake Maggiore, look no further. This freshly renovated 19th-century house, with its south-west facing position, has vistas that will take your breath away. Take in the scenery from the poolside terrace, or gaze through the arches of the covered seating area with a glass of wine in hand. There's multiple terraces to capture every ounce of that crisp mountain air and surprising, near-Mediterranean like landscape. Indoors, the elegant living room has plenty to admire too, with its sparkling glass chandeliers and large windows. Take a seat on the chaise sofa, with its tropical print cushions evocative of the palms outside and unwind. On chillier evenings, gather around the open fire or swap stories before dinner in the sophisticated dining room. This home is ideally situated in Minusio – a short, less than thirty-minutes walk away from the lakeside. Nearby chic Locarno, Switzerland's lowest-altitude town, offers a range of attractions. Have a stroll around its Piazza Grande, which hosts a raft of renowned music and film festivals in the summer months. 

Palms & Lakes

This elegant home can be found in Ascona, where the mountains give way to the majesty of Lake Maggiore. Switzerland's lowest lying town, the varied terrain here means there are lots of ways you can explore, be it hiking or biking, and you don’t have to stay on dry land either. Take to the waters on a lake cruise or drive along the shore until you hit another country altogether – Italy is just fifteen minutes away. And that explains why this top floor home has more than a hint of Italian chic about it, with white walls, parquet flooring and a blend of classic and modern furnishings. There's a little balcony for morning coffee or evening aperitifs, and it's just a ten-minute stroll down to the lake.   

Maggiore Magic

Close to shops and restaurants in Cunardo, and less than half an hour’s drive from Lake Maggiore, this cosy apartment is in a great spot for exploring a picturesque corner of Italy. While this home is on the smaller side, it contains everything you need, including space to cook and eat after a busy day of sightseeing. Solo trip or romantic getaway, this petite yet practical pad is ideal for a fuss-free break, and packs plenty of character into a compact layout.

The Apothecary Shop

This apartment is nestled in gorgeous Wengen, high in the Swiss Alps. Whether you're visiting in the height of summer or the depths of winter, it's a brilliant place to begin your adventures. 

Step inside and you'll find a modern space with wooden beams and large windows that frame the stunning mountain views outside. You can stretch out on the sofa and gaze out across the valley, or head outside onto the balcony for a better look. And, when you are in need of replenishment, you can head to the kitchen to whip up some hearty dishes – there's even a fondue set for the ultimate post-skiing meal. 

The lifts up to the Jungfrau ski region are only 600m away, so you can be one of the first people on the slopes each day. During the warmer months, you can explore the rugged landscapes on foot or on your bike. And, with a swimming pool, tennis courts, river rafting, and even a paragliding centre nearby, there's an activity to suit everyone. 

Slalom Race

Nestled on the hillside in Como, this villa serves up panoramic lake and mountain views that you’ll never tire of. Set across four floors, there’s plenty of space for an extended family or group of friends to spread out here, or come together to socialise. With a private gym, hot tub, and games area, you’ll find plenty to occupy your time, too. Keen to explore further? Hop in the car – it’s a short drive to Como and Cernobbio, where fine Italian eateries and adventures on the lake await. 

The Lake of Love

Located in San Fermo della Battaglia, this impressive home makes the perfect setting for a romantic Italian escape. From the beautiful views and the outdoor Jacuzzi to the antique furnishings and art, you’ll find it easy to settle in and make it your own. It’s worth noting the rooms are spread across three apartments and there is a sofa bed for two guests. Plus, your host is on hand to help organise a range of extras – including private chefs and wellness treatments. There is free private parking here and you’ll find it’s just a short drive or walk to the edge of Lake Como.  

The Waves of History

This historic farmhouse and barn have been transformed into a striking modern apartment, perfect for exploring the Italian Lake District. Open up the sliding doors to combine the indoor space with the outdoor terrace – ideal for sunny evenings when eating on the patio is a must. However, the space is equally inviting inside, where you can admire original features, such as the exposed stone walls and wooden beams. Halfway between Lakes Maggiore and Lugano, you'll have lots of options for days out – set sail on a boat trip, explore nearby cycling trails (there's bike storage here), or drive to the nearby town of Varese for historic sights.

The Priory

Live the good life at this swish apartment in the Italian-speaking Swiss town of Locarno. Situated just a stone's throw away from the glittering Lago Maggiore, it's a magical spot at the foot of the Alps. 

Step inside, and you'll find a thoroughly modern space with a crisp colour scheme and modern silhouettes. The open-plan set-up makes it easy to socialise with your guests while you cook, eat, and relax together in style – there's even a fondue and raclette set provided. And, you'll love the private balcony, where you can sip a glass of wine in the fresh air and catch a glimpse of the rugged peaks beyond. 

You can wander down to the lake's shore in just a few minutes for a walk or a revitalising dip in the thermal baths at Lido Locarno. Organise a boat trip to explore Lago Maggiore from the water, before refueling on some delicious local dishes at one of the restaurants in the town. And, if you drive north into the mountains, you can go mountain biking, hiking, or even paragliding.

Whether you’re drinking in the lake vistas from the indoor or outdoor space, it’s something you’ll never tire of. And, when the scenery pulls you in, it’s a mere four-minute drive to town and the lake, where delicious Italian eateries and adventures await. 

Timeless Tranquillity

When you step inside this 17th–century villa, there’s a sense of being transported to another time and place. With its atmospheric presence and poetic beauty, it’s the kind of home that’s been designed for beautiful gatherings. 

Set within the charming village of Baveno, just a short drive from Milan, this is the perfect setting for friends and family to celebrate in traditional Italian style. The communal spaces feel intimate and personal – with artistic details that inspire curiosity and intrigue.

Sun-kissed terraces, alfresco dining opportunities and views across Lake Como – what’s not to love? If you can tear yourself away, live like a local in ​​Tremezzo where pizzerias and authentic Italian food awaits. And of course, a trip out on Lake Como itself is a must – it’s the perfect place to soak up the scenery. 

A Breath of Nature

If you’re searching for somewhere you can just drop off your bags and head straight out to explore, this could be the home for you. Nestled in the heart of Como, this home has elegance running through its core. Ideal for a small family or group of friends, this apartment is kitted out with everything for a relaxing stay. But, the cherry on top for us is the location. Mere steps from the Duomo and the tranquil shores of Lake Como, ticking off the city’s hotspots is easy here.
