Astounding mountain views through the double-height windows? Check. Sloped roofs and wooden walls? Check. Log-burning fires and a deep tub to soak sore muscles? 100%. This beautiful home in the Swiss Alps has everything we need for a skiing or hiking holiday – and then some. Set high in the mountains, the plot has the most magnificent vistas, we recommend pulling up an armchair or – in summer – a lounger to gawp at mother nature's finest. There's more of those stunning panoramas as you wake up, through French doors, and even when firing up the fondue set in the kitchen. The open-plan living space is where we spend most of our time, with quirky cow-hide dining seats, Swiss-themed armchairs, and access to the balcony and barbecue. Thanks to huge leather sofas and traditional games, it's where we like to end the day too – preferably with a cocktail watching the evening rays light up the peaks.

Falcon On The Pine

Built in 2020, you’ll find this pristine chalet just a nine-minute walk from the picture-perfect ski village of Nendaz, overlooking the Rhone Valley. Indoors is all about comfort, with soft-as-butter leather sofas, high ceilings and blissful beds with crisp linens. An open-plan living space is complete with modern furnishings in warm neutrals, a perfect match to the exposed wood walls. For snow-sports lovers, Nendaz boasts 412 kilometres of powdery pistes so you’re utterly spoilt for choice. On days when you want to take it easy, there’s a shared heated pool with incredible mountain views, sauna and wellness centre. In the evenings, we can’t think of anything better than gathering on your private balcony for an indulgent feast of cheese and wine – the home comes with its own raclette grill and fondue set. 

Bon Hiver

The views from this chalet will make you smile from the moment of arrival. You’ll also be welcomed by a swimming pool, a sauna and a terrace where you can sit back and savour this majestic location. Inside, the rooms are just as enticing with highlights including the wood-burning fire, a home cinema, a gym and snug bedrooms (all of which come with ensuite bathrooms). Adventure lovers will find perfect contentment in this location with easy access hiking trails and the nearby pistes – just a short drive or bus ride away.

This cosy chalet, with its own private garden and dining area, is the perfect getaway for both summer and winter holidays in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Start each morning with a cup of coffee alfresco as the crisp, fresh air wakes you up and gets you ready for a day full of adventures. Located just nine minutes away from the nearest ski resort, you can grab your equipment from the home’s dedicated ski storage room and be hitting the slopes in no time.

Why not explore the beautiful central Chamonix – a short ten-minute drive away or head to Le Bossons Glacier, reachable by car within thirteen minutes, and enjoy the breath-taking beauty of the views on offer? For more adventurous activities, tree-top climbing and a rock climbing crag in Lac des Gaillards are both only five minutes away by car, while horse riding is also on offer and can be reached in eleven minutes from this home. 

In the evening, we would love nothing more than to snuggle up in the warmth of this cabin and admire the snowy mountain views outside. Or, curl up on the sofa with a good book from the bookcase. 

Glacé Glaciers

This chalet is warm, welcoming and perfectly located in St. Martin de Belleville with immediate access to the largest ski hotbed in the world. With space for a large family or group of friends, this is the perfect escape for those for rest and relaxation in the Alps. Only 200 metres from the lift, you can ski out from the property and enjoy the fresh powder before returning home to decompress in the indoor pool or sauna and enjoy a meal completely tailored to your own taste and needs. The staff who manages the property is impeccably communicative and hospitable. 

Three Valleys

With wondrous mountain views, a warming hot tub, and an incredible location, this chalet apartment presents some of the area’s best alpine living. Located in Argentière, a picturesque ski village in the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc region, you’ll be continuously impressed by the comfort and style of this home, as well as its amenities. 

In a traditional alpine village, you might not expect such an upscale contemporary interior. Blending luxury with rustic charm, the home’s soft furnishings, warming fire, and calming tones provide the perfect place for relaxing after a day on the slopes. Not only is the interior delightfully cosy, but the whole home has your comfort in mind. If you want to find your zen, your host can arrange for yoga lessons, or you can unwind in your private sauna, or even cheers to sunset in the hot tub. And for the cherry on top – your host can arrange for your fridge to be stocked with wine hand-picked by expert sommeliers. That cheers to sunset will be extra special with a sommelier-approved wine in hand. 

Step outside and you’ll reach the Grand Montets ski lifts in just a few minutes by foot. Enjoy a day on the slopes before heading for a delicious lunch in Argentière – all that skiing certainly works up an appetite. There are several bars and pubs to enjoy a well-deserved drink, too. Or, you can make your way to the centre of Chamonix – it’s about a fifteen-minute drive away – to take full advantage of its bustling après ski scene. A local team of travel assistants can help you plan and make the most out of your time in the Alps with ski slopes, restaurants, and bar recommendations. 

Alpine Adoration

Perched high above the Rhône Valley, this chalet balances Swiss tradition with a modern edge. Step inside and discover vaulted ceilings, textured throws, and bold art – but it’s the wall of glass framing the Alps that steals the show. Days here are made for mountain adventures, with hiking trails and ski lifts just minutes away. Come summer, the wraparound terrace is a suntrap for lazy lunches; in winter, stay cosy and enjoy some après-ski with a snowy outlook. This is alpine living at its finest.

 Mountain Tiger

Renovated in 2014, this traditional chalet has been filled with so many rustic but luxury touches, you might be distracted from the business of hitting the slopes of nearby Nendaz. We suggest exploring, however, as on your return a deep standalone bath and the home's private sauna are there to take away any aches and pains. Whether you're visiting in summer or winter, dining tables have been positioned to soak up the Alpine views, through double-height glass windows indoors or on the home's long balcony outdoors. There's room for the whole party to sit and feast on raclette, fondue and barbecued delights. Bedrooms are snug and Swiss, with their sloping beamed ceilings and wooden walls – though the addition of skylights and French doors flood the space with sunshine. For cooler days, there's plenty of room in the living area – light the Scandinavian wood-burner and watch the sun set over the mountains.

Blanc De Blanc

We love the views over to Mont-Blanc from the terrace of this home. Inside, the living space has the wow factor and the owners’ love of art, design, and architecture shows in the decoration and furnishings. This place is perfect for family or friends with its cosy fireplace, sauna, TV and games area, and dormitory room that the children will love. There’s also a reading corner and an office space for when you need to catch up on work. Set at the end of a private road on the edge of the forest, this home has a wonderful location. It’s 500 metres from the ski lifts and offers easy access to hiking and bike trails.

Alpine Sojourn

This beautiful chalet – spread over three floors – is perfect for families and groups of friends looking for a luxurious holiday home in the French Alps (there’s even a mezzanine just for kids). The chalet is traditional in style but boasts all the comforts of modern living, including a Jacuzzi and a sauna – what could be better after a day on the slopes? Return to the chalet – via the ski bus that departs just 200 metres away – to curl up beside the floating fireplace and watch the sun set behind the mountains. 

Snowed In

This beautiful Combloux chalet offers stunning views of Mont Blanc and is close to the ski slopes. The sun-drenched open kitchen is the perfect place to cook up delicious meals, while the spacious balcony is ideal for relaxing in the evening. This apartment is a one-of-a-kind ski retreat in the heart of Les Arcs, with ski-in/ski-out access directly onto the Cachette slope – making exploring the Paradiski area effortless. After a day on the mountain, unwind with the residence’s amenities, including a swimming pool, sauna and gym. There’s even a ski store so you can make sure you have everything you need. As it's facing the south-west, you can enjoy breathtaking views over the mountains and valley from the terrace. Bourg-Saint-Maurice is easily reached via the nearby funicular, and charming Alpine villages are just a short drive away.
