We don't throw around the term 'tropical oasis' very often, but the lush garden at this 300-year-old former farmhouse is more than deserving of the title. Brimming with mature shrubs, vibrant flowers and tall leafy trees, you'll want to spend all day, every day here basking in the Spanish sunshine and watching the palms sway. It's downright heavenly, and oodles of different seating nooks means you can follow the sun all day long. Start mornings off with an espresso on the rattan chairs, spend afternoons sprawled out on the outdoor sofa with a good book and end the evenings with a barbecue and a bottle of wine underneath the veranda.   

Even inside, you can make the most of the verdant scenery, thanks to huge floor-to-ceiling doors which open straight onto the garden. We love how bright and breezy the entire home is – whether you're cooking in the sleek kitchen, watching a movie on the smart TV, snuggling up in front of the wood-burner or snoozing in the comfortable bedrooms, the fresh air is only a few steps away. 

And the location is excellent, too. Nestled between Arrieta and Arrecife, you're just a ten-minute drive from gorgeous beaches, lively bars and mouth-watering eateries. Keep the botanical vibe going with a visit to the world-famous Cactus Garden – a thirteen-minute walk – or head to Playa del Jablillo, driveable in fifteen minutes, for snorkelling in the crystal clear waters.

You'll have plenty of opportunities to bask in the Canarian sunshine at this villa in Montaña Roja. Between the private pool (which can be heated for an added charge), indoor pool table and outdoor ping-pong table, dull moments are few and far between. Although the bathrooms are a little dated and some of the furniture is a tad traditional for our tastes, there's a good amount of space both inside and out for the whole family to feel comfortable. It's also in a very convenient location. A few restaurants, bars and shops are within walking distance, while Playa Blanca's expansive beach is a short drive away.

Sun seekers rejoice – this coastal home in Lanzarote offers a multitude of outdoor spaces in which to soak up those rays. Although this home comprises a lower-ground as well as a ground floor, it still feels full of light, while its lounging terrace, daybed and sociable brick-built barbecue and alfresco dining areas, not to mention private pool, mean you’re bound to spend the majority of your time outside in any case. "Say Hola to The property! This pretty villa is great for groups who want the best of both worlds. The villa boasts an impressive terrace, ideal for lounging by the pool on a sunny day. There's plenty for you to do as The property comes with both a pool table and table tennis for your entertainment. If you prefer the company of a good book, then the exterior day bed is just for you, shaded from the sun, this cosy spot on the terrace is great for a midday snooze. There's also a shaded terrace and a bohemian-style dining table for alfresco dining. Why not grab some fresh produce from the local supermarket and whip up some delicious delights of homemade tapas or fresh seafood?

Inside the villa is split into two levels. Patio doors lead from the terrace to the lower ground floor where we find two ensuite bedrooms, one double and one twin. There's also a lounge area and a small kitchenette. With its own living quarters, this property is ideal for those traveling together who want a little extra space. Internal and external stairs lead up to the ground floor, where we find the remaining two bedrooms, another double and twin room with access to a separate shower room. There's a further living room and a full kitchen on this level, as well as indoor dining facilities. As an added bonus, this villa also has an upper terrace that leads off the ground floor and overlooks the pool area."

Away from Lanzarote's well-trodden tourist trail, this home offers a peaceful escape in the northeast of the island. Set on the grounds of a 300-year-old farm just outside the village of Guatiza, it offers easy access to the volcanic landscapes of Tenegüime National Park and the waters of the North Atlantic. Its rustic interior decor is in keeping with its rural location, but given Lanzarote's fantastic year-round climate, we imagine you'll spend most of your time in the courtyard garden surrounded by tropical plants. We were blown away by the 18m pool, a glistening blue, and formed in a bubble shape. This pool really does capture your eye and is the ideal place for cooling off in the midday sun or splashing around with the kiddies. As an added bonus, the pool is heated free all year round. With sun loungers galore, you can enjoy days of endless sunbathing, as you top up your tan under the glistening sunshine. For that added spot of relaxation, there's a terrace hot tub boasting magnificent panoramic sea views across the Atlantic. Under the beam-covered terrace, you'll find cosy hammock chairs, rattan sofas, and a large dining table. For alfresco cooking, there's an outdoor kitchen, complete with a pizza oven, brick-built BBQ, oven, hob and fridge. Enjoy cooking up a feast alfresco style amongst friends and family. Serve up a traditional Paella or an array of Tapas for all to enjoy? For the big kids out there, there's even a pool table for your own entertainment.

Inside, the property is furnished to a high standard, with bohemian and chic style furniture and a high-end kitchen. The ground floor is where we find most of the rooms, including the comfy living room with smart TV and four spacious bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, with direct access to the patio terrace, and a large ensuite bathroom, with double vanity and a relaxing bathtub. There are a further three bedrooms on the ground floor, another ensuite and two twin bedrooms. All ground-floor bedrooms feature cool air conditioning. A spiral staircase leads down to the lower ground floor, here we find the last bedroom, with a ceiling fan and access to a private ensuite. There's also a second lounge on this floor, making it ideal for those wanting a little extra space on family holidays.

*Please note, the ground floor is on a split level and features a number of steps leading to some of the rooms.

This three-bedroom home’s enclosed garden and pretty pergola are charming. While the interiors are functional and fuss-free rather than overly fancy, this home is all about its outdoor offering, which includes a private pool, a brick-built barbecue and an alfresco dining area. Location-wise getting out and about is a breeze. When it’s time for dinner and drinks we suggest heading into Marina Rubicón, the heart of Playa Blanca, where you’ll find a variety of local gourmet restaurants and lounge bars.

Pergola Pretty

Situated on Lanzarote's Playa Blanca resort, this villa places you close to beaches, restaurants and shops. A car isn't necessary, but you'll want to hire one if you're looking to explore more of the island, including the gorgeous Timanfaya National Park. With all rooms on a single level, this home is easily accessible with no need to climb stairs. The private pool can be heated at an additional cost, and the sun loungers and outdoor kitchen make this home great for relaxing and socialising.

A Friend of the Sun

Ideal for families, this home even has a children’s room set up with a London bus-style bunk bed. While such features mean this villa probably won’t appeal to child-free groups, there’s a lot to talk about here. The gym and sauna are a nice addition to a home that already boasts a remarkable pool – it wraps around the villa and has a sunken hot tub at one end. Just a stone's throw from some of Lanzarote's most stunning beaches, this stylish villa offers a little slice of paradise in Playa Blanca. Boasting a wrap-around terrace with plenty of comfy spots to relax, spend your mornings sipping coffee on the patio or cooling off in the private pool. If you like to start your day with a workout, you needn't disrupt your routine here as there's a fully-equipped home gym for you to use whenever you like.

Once you're feeling energised and ready to take on the day, you've got Lanzarote's beautiful coastline to explore. If you want to stay close to home, the nearest beach is less than two kilometres away, but we highly recommend renting a car and heading to Papagayo. The white sandy coves and crystal clear waters make it with well worth the trip. 

When you get home from a day of exploring, winding down for the evening is easy when you're surrounded by a gorgeous garden. The outdoor kitchen is the perfect place to try cooking some local dishes on the barbecue or a delicious pizza in the pizza oven, followed by a few glasses of wine or even a cocktail prepared at the bar. End the night with a long bubble bath, or if you're looking for a little privacy, one of the bedrooms has its own terrace which is ideal for enjoying some peace and quiet.

Situated in the residential area of Faro Park, this home is 4 kilometres from the centre of Playa Blanca and just 400 metres from the seafront promenade. If you prefer to cool off in a swimming pool – there’s a private heated one here in the pretty garden with its palm trees and Canarian-style seating area. There are sea glimpses and mountain views from the balcony too. Inside, the villa is a bit dated in places, especially the kitchen, but that said, there’s plenty of space for family or friends to enjoy.

This Puerto del Carmen villa is situated a short drive from Old Town Harbour, waterfront eateries and sandy beaches. Inside may be traditional in style, but it doesn't lack space – and with all the bedrooms on the ground floor, it would work well for guests with limited mobility. On the lower level, a ping-pong table will keep kids entertained, while the beamed loft upstairs makes for a lovely reading nook. That said, it's the terrace that caught our attention. With its private pool, dappled dining area and comfy lounge chairs, it's no wonder you'll spend most of your time here outside, soaking up the Canarian sun.

The spacious terrace and enclosed dining area are all decorated with glass to fully make the most of the surrounding vista! The villa is well presented with bright, airy, modern furniture and decorative touches. On entry, there is an open hallway leading to a spacious lounge diner with a high ceiling. Patio doors from here lead out to a glass-enclosed terrace with large sliding doors and an al-fresco style dining area. There are three bedrooms with large double beds and two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite. During the day, guests can relax on a sun lounger or take a dip in the glistening pool. In the evening, they can watch the sun set while cooking up delicious treats on the brick built BBQ. The resort centre is just a short drive away, offering a wide choice of bars and restaurants.
