With a fantastic address, just off the Paseo de la Castellana, this apartment has a wealth of attractions nearby. The upmarket districts of Salamanca, Chamberi and Justicia are all close, so you'll have plenty of fine restaurants, chic boutiques and art galleries to enjoy. With one of Madrid's main avenues on your doorstep, the slight downside is you will hear some street noise here, but it's easily fixed with some earplugs if you're a light sleeper. We have to say, we love the views over Plaza Villa de París from this home. The kitchen is well-equipped, so you can cook some homemade meals or let your host arrange a private chef to create some of your favourite tapas dishes.

Plaza París Haven

There's a reason Salamanca is one of Madrid's most sought-after neighbourhoods. With its gourmet eateries, world-renowned museums and luxury boutiques lining the Golden Mile, the area offers something for everyone. Just on the cusp of this swanky postcode is this apartment. The size is ideal for couples and solo travellers, but the option of a single sofa bed keeps sleeping arrangements flexible. Netflix and a Playstation have rainy days covered, and although it's not the most exciting home, we like the design – particularly the colourful wallpaper in the bedroom.

Madrid Marigold

Situated in Madrazo, just a five-minute stroll from the bustling shop-lined avenue of Gran Vía and its majestic Metropolis Building, this home's location alone is enough reason for us to praise it to the skies. It's right at the heart of the action, though, tucked away on a side street and perched on the third floor, feels delightfully peaceful. Here, you're within walking distance of all the main sights, including El Retiro Park and the Plaza Mayor, both twelve minutes from your doorstep on foot.

From the outset, this home exudes grandeur with its pastel-hued facade and marble tiled entryway. The interior is just as elegant, boasting a calming canvas of high ceilings, wooden floors and stylish decor. Large windows usher in floods of sunlight, and we love the open-plan living space, where floor-to-ceiling French doors open up to not one but four balconies. After a restful slumber, spend mornings roosted here, sipping your coffee in the sunshine with picturesque street-facing views. 

Spend your days strolling through Madrid's palm-lined streets, passing neoclassical architecture, emblematic museums and bustling plazas bearing ample cafes and tapas bars. When you need a breather from the city heat, return to this sanctuary of serenity. Enjoy an energising workout in the shared gym, or kick back on the plush sofas with a glass of wine as the sun sets over the rooftops. 

Chance Encounter

Located right in the centre of Madrid within walking distance of its cultural treasures, this apartment is its own gallery of miscellaneous wonders perched high above the pavements. Starting from the fuzzy caterpillar-like chaise lounge in the living room that sets the eclectic glamorous tone, this home puts just about everything in the mix, from boldly patterned wallpaper and towering palm plants to the Asian dresser in the living area and the bright blue countertop. It's fair to say that we loved it. A small balcony in one of the bedrooms was the cherry on the cake and is perfect for when you want a blast of fresh air on a stuffy afternoon. If you want to head out exploring, Museo Nacional del Prado is just over ten minutes' walk away, while Palacio de Cristal in the middle of Parque de el Retiro takes around twenty-five.

Cornucopia

Modern, compact and centrally located, this apartment is the perfect landing pad for those always on the go. Inside, it’s stripped-back and minimalistic with funky patterned walls, tiles and textiles adding interest to the spaces. Wake up feeling refreshed in the neat bedrooms before starting the day with a quick breakfast put together in your fully-equipped kitchen. Once you’ve finished your coffee, head out and explore your surroundings. 

Begin with a trip to the Prado Museum then enjoy a picnic in sunny Retiro Park, a short walk from your doorstep. Mosey over to the Royal Palace or shop ‘til you drop along the Gra Vía. Come evening, seek out a long-standing tablao for a rousing flamenco performance followed by tasty tapas in a laid-back restaurant. 

Get Up & Go

This beautiful and modern apartment situated in the very heart of old Madrid is the perfect place to base yourself while you experience all that this vibrant city has to offer, at the same enjoying all the comforts of home. 

Come in to be instantly embraced by this place’s cosy ambience – we love the light-filled living room, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows letting in streams of warm daylight and leading out onto the balcony. Get snuggly on the stylish and comfy sofa and settle in for a movie night with your family or an evening of wine and conversation. There are plenty of unique pieces here to make it feel just like home – from lovely plants and colourful cushions dotted around to the elegant light fixtures. For those gorgeous communal meals, you’ll be able to enjoy the large wooden dining table, and you can rustle up delicious feasts in the well-equipped kitchen. 

For a taste of true luxury head over to the bedrooms, offering dreamy beds and neutral tones. Why not treat yourself to a bubble bath in the sparkling bathroom before heading off to the land of sweet dreams. 

When you’re ready to head out and explore you’ll find yourself in the best possible location from which to discover Madrid on foot. Whether you fancy a day of admiring beautiful art, a food tour of the excellent restaurants or you simply want to get lost in the charming streets – you’re in the right spot. 

Goya's Dreams 

This snug apartment is the perfect hideaway for four in the heart of Madrid. Both bedrooms occupy different levels and each has its own en-suite – an ideal arrangement for groups looking for a bit more separation and privacy. Though it'll be a squeeze to fit everyone on the sofa (that'll depend on how comfortable you are with your co-guests), the addition of a breakfast bar means there's just enough space for quick meals at home before stepping out. And with top sights practically on your doorstep – the Museo del Prado and the Royal Botanic Garden are just a fifteen-minute walk away – you'll hardly want to spend your days indoors.

Centro Essence

Molten Brass is neat and tidy. There isn’t a lot that jumps out at you, but that’s not necessarily a problem – the atmosphere inside is pretty calm. That stands in contrast to the atmosphere on the street below, which is pretty intense, but that’s because you’re in the heart of Malasaña, so there’s tonnes to do. As is common with any flat that is rented out all the time, there’s a lack of personality but the attention to detail, and generally pleasant, if simple, design help make the flat feel more homely.


Molten Brass

This stylish penthouse promises an unforgettable city centre stay, with ample space for cooling off indoors or soaking up the heat. If you've been drawn in by the private rooftop terrace, you're not the only one. Just imagine the joy of gliding out each morning, strong coffee in hand, and starting your day in the sunshine. Soon, you won't have to imagine.

The inside space is just as dreamy as the outside, decorated with high-quality furnishings and striking wall art. Spend quiet evenings curled up in front of the smart TV, or head down to the communal gym for a late-night workout. If you'd rather hit the town, you'll find a lively array of restaurants and bars on your doorstep serving all kinds of cuisine.
