We love the blend of modern design and old-world Saharan decor that makes for a zen and balanced space to kick back after a day of sightseeing. Curl up on the sofa with a good book, prepare meals in the marble-topped kitchen or keep an eye on work – there’s a dedicated desk for those who are visiting on business. 

That being said, we recommend less work and a lot more play here. Head out and explore the elegant streets below, filled with art galleries, trendy boutiques and Parisian-style cafés. Fill your days with shopping and flat-white sipping along the iconic Gran Vía boulevard nearby, taking in the striking neoclassical architecture as you go. 

Madrilenian Modern

If you're looking for an effortlessly chic spot to sip sangria and kick back with a good book, knowing the cultural delights of Madrid are right outside, then this apartment in the Chueca neighbourhood is just the ticket. Making ingenious use of space, this stylish home benefits from light wood furnishings and a calming pastel pink colour palette that will have you feeling at ease from the moment you arrive. Seamlessly move between the lounge and bedroom, with an open concept interior that makes for a sociable and fun place to unwind, play cards, and relive the best parts of the day. Outside, there's a local area full of life, filled with modern boutiques, hip bars, and oh-so-trendy tapas restaurants. You really couldn't be better placed for taking in the city's unique blend of old and new.

With light ushered in through the large windows, highlighting the exposed beams and comfortable furnishings, you’ll feel at home from the moment you set your suitcases down. We love the window seat nestled by the door to the terrace – perfect for snuggling down with a good book to while away the hours during some downtime in your apartment. 

The rooftop terrace will entice you out with ease. It’s just the spot to start or end the day –  enjoy a morning coffee as the city stirs into life below and the sun warms your skin or gather with friends of an evening, sharing a bottle of wine and tales from the day. Up here, hidden amongst the rooftops, you could almost forget you were in the heart of Madrid. With the distant sounds of the city below, you’ll soon be itching to get out and explore. There’s a whole host of eateries on your doorstep, so stop to sample some local cuisine before discovering the elegant boulevards and manicured parks Spain’s capital is so rightfully proud of. 

Straight to the Top

Located in Madrid’s central Justicia neighbourhood, this practical studio-style apartment may be short on space, but it offers a prime position from which to soak up the best of the city’s sights. At full capacity, two guests will need to share the sofa bed which will make the living area a little tight. And the lack of natural light and views may not suit those looking for a more scenic stay. But for a base to drop your bags and explore nearby Gran Vía, El Retiro Park and Plaza Mayor, it’s a cosy spot that hits the mark. 


The Long Journey

If you’re in search of a breezy city getaway, this apartment delivers a sweet solution. You’ll be welcomed by a versatile open-plan layout with a cosy seating area, a record player and all the essentials you could need to settle in. The bedroom also comes with a desk – making this a great option for remote workers. Outside, it’s a short stroll through the vibrant streets of Chueca-Justicia to local restaurants, cafes and shops. There are also great public transport links – making it easy to get across the city. 

Sunflower Oasis

The terrace is the first thing that strikes you about Sail-Shade, so let’s not dwell on that. The living room is lovely, and the rest of the place is very comfortable, if not particularly ground-breaking. The atmosphere is almost like a hotel – you have both a twenty-four-hour reception, and a daily cleaning service – but that also goes the other way. The flat is missing some of the character that you’d expect if it were actually someone’s home. 


Sail-Shade

If you want to be in the centre of Madrid’s action, culture and vibrancy, this is the apartment for you. The home is in Chueca, where you’re just a couple of minutes walk from Gran-Via, Madrid’s most renowned street. At your doorstep, there are boundless options for excellent restaurants, bars and shops, as well as some of Madrid’s most iconic buildings and cultural sites. Inside the home, you’ll be welcomed by a concoction of earthy tones of reds and browns, from the wooden furnishings to the exposed red brick living room wall. The double doors open out onto a charming Juliet balcony giving way to a view of a traditional, Madrid street. Enjoy eating breakfast with friends and family at the kitchen table, or opening a bottle of red and settle in for the evening. This home is a wonderful option for dipping in and out of Madrid’s alluring buzz. 

Earth and the City

Your stylistic Justicia apartment is a reflection of your neighbourhood’s artistic energy, with Jaume Plensa’s “Julia” and dEmo’s “Lucky Frog” statues peeping around the corner on La Castellana. Soak in Spanish life at the family-owned Casa Dani for their famous tortilla de patatas, then stop off at Casa Camacho in the Malasaña neighbourhood for vermouth on the rocks during aperitif hour - like a true Madrileño. What better way to end your day than with a cool twenty-five-minute walk back to your central space, Chocolatería San Ginés churro in hand. Nestle down under the sheets with the soft city glow just outside. 

Art Talk

This studio apartment in the heart of Madrid may be on the smaller side, but it's packed with plenty of character. We love how the quirky interior nods to the area's history – particularly the colourful tile flooring and exposed stonework – yet it still feels trendy and cool. The snug kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a meal or two, but you'll want to spend your evenings sipping wine and tucking into a delicious Spanish feast at one of the excellent restaurants right on your doorstep. 

With Chueca metro station just a five-minute walk away, most of Madrid's must-see sights are within easy reach. Stroll down to the Plaza Mayor in twenty minutes or spend an afternoon wandering around the city's many markets and museums. When your feet are tired and legs weary from the day's adventures, head back and unwind on the comfortable sofa before nodding off in the sumptuous bed.

You’ll find this stylish apartment steps away from the Plaza de Colon in Madrid's booming downtown district. Wake up to Spanish sun flooding through the windows, then make yourself a coffee and whip up breakfast in the sleek kitchen or better still, why not have a go at rustling up some Spanish cuisine? With two metro stations and multiple bus stops just a short walk away, getting around Madrid is a breeze. Spend the day strolling around the city, taking in the sights, before unwinding with a quick siesta in the comfy bedrooms. In the evenings, enjoy a night on the town – there is a wealth of eateries and bars on your doorstep to tickle your fancy. 

Soaring Scenes

With a big and luminous living room that transforms into a home cinema, Lovefield is a great stay for those who like to strike a balance between spending their time sightseeing and relaxing at home. The neighbouring streets of Chueca are filled with great bars and restaurants, but they're also well-connected to the city centre. One of the bedrooms in Lovefield doesn't have a window, but otherwise, the design is well-thought-through and coherent.

Lovefield

You're never from Barcelona's bustle at this smart bolthole set in a quiet residential pocket of the Eixample neighbourhood. The century-old shops, small bars, and cafes of the Gothic Quarter are all just a stroll away, and Urgel Metro is a short walk if you need to be someplace fast. Back home, the outdoor terrace for sundowners is a bonus. As is the dedicated office for anyone planning to work or study. It's worth noting that the second bedroom sleeps just one guest – but there's ample storage space, and you'll have direct access to the private terrace outside.
