In the heart of Madrid, just a few metres away from Plaza Mayor and within walking distance of Puerta del Sol, this city apartment couldn't be better located. Keep in mind that some noise should be expected here, but we think it's a small price to pay for this central spot. You'll find a great selection of restaurants on your doorstep if you'd like to sample the local cuisine, but if you'd prefer to dine in, the kitchen is well-equipped for homemade tapas. 

Madrid Serenade

Step into the heart of Madrid with a stay in this contemporary loft. From the simple aesthetic to the functional design, this is a great option for couples and solo travellers in search of a refreshing city stay. At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room and the main bedroom is located on the mezzanine level (with no door), but you’ll find all the essentials needed to make it your own. Outside, it’s just a short stroll to local tapas bars, shops and iconic sights like the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid. 


Madrid's Sky Loft

A perfect base for city adventures, this home in the heart of Madrid is a refreshing blend of old and new. Set in a typical period building, it's anything but old-fashioned inside, with white walls and concrete tile floors providing the backdrop to a riot of colourful art and dramatic, contemporary furnishings. Think tall ceilings and French doors, but also statement lighting and a sleek, white kitchen. 

Designed for a couple or a solo traveller, it's not all style over substance – it's a perfectly inviting, comfortable home from home. We particularly love the artsy living room, with its little balcony, and the bathroom, where you can freshen up in the rainfall shower under the banana leaf ceiling.

A pretty, quiet spot, but with all the major attractions – as well as all sorts of cafes, restaurants and bars – practically on your doorstep, it's an excellent choice.

We love the striking wallpapers adorning the walls in each of the rooms – while bold wallpaper designs can be a hit and miss, here they really work adding to the charming ambience of this place. 

The living room invites you to kick back and relax on the comfy sofa where you can enjoy evenings of wine and conversation as well as movie nights with your family and friends. Head over to the well-equipped kitchen to rustle up a delicious supper to be enjoyed by the entire party at the elegant dining table. 

For a night of rest and sweet dreams, you have to look no further than the comfy bedrooms, each decorated with a different colour scheme – pick the one which best suits your mood. 

Outside your floral oasis you’ll find yourself in the best possible spot for exploring the city – why not start with what’s on your doorstep, namely the charming narrow streets of La Latina, with their vibrant cafes and restaurants.

This bright and welcoming apartment is small but perfectly formed. We love the charm of the exposed wooden beams in this cosy home – it’s a delightful space to return to after busy days of sightseeing. And you’ll be able to explore easily from this convenient setting – Plaza Major is just a short walk away. Puerta de Toledo metro station is nearby too, making seeing further-afield sights as easy as can be. 

The Light of His Eye

This unique loft apartment is perfect for a family, a small group of friends, or two couples looking for a stylish and comfortable base in Madrid. It’s in a vibrant part of the city, close to restaurants and shops, and within walking distance of many of the key attractions – Plaza Mayor and the Prado Museum are less than twenty minutes away on foot. If you don’t feel like walking, hop on the metro at nearby Embajadores. The apartment is modern and attractive, equipped with everything needed for a city break. 

Luminous Loft

Twenty minutes on foot from Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and El Retiro Park, this apartment is well-placed to explore. Many shops, restaurants, and metro stations are nearby, as well as some of Madrid's most famous markets. When you're not sightseeing, this central home is practical and comfortable. We love the exposed brick and stone walls, though it does mean it's a little dark. The kitchen is the ideal size to rustle up lighter fare, but we suspect you'd prefer dining out. 

Ladrillo

This home is far from a pristine condition, but we're sure you can spot the wear and tear from the photos. The exposed wooden beams and the older-looking elements help create a special kind of charm that's hard to find in Madrid these days. The Open Library might also have one of the finest kitchens we've seen, equipped with enough dishes space to cook for a small army. The fact that it's also located within walking distance from the Prado and Puerta del sol makes this home a great, relaxed stay. 

The Open Library

It doesn’t get any more central than the location of this stunning duplex apartment, which is an ideal base for those wanting to sample all that this vibrant city has to offer. 

Step through the front door to be welcomed by a lovely living area, bathed in streams of natural light flooding in through the large windows. You’ll find yourself immediately seduced by the charm of this place – the comfy furnishings will tempt you to kick off your shoes and spend the afternoon lounging about and admiring all the unique details. We love the beamed ceilings and the statement brick wall which lends the apartment its warm and elegant ambience. Rustle up quick and delicious meals in the bright open-plan kitchen and enjoy them with your loved ones at the dining table or better still at the sun-kissed roof terrace overlooking the ancient rooftops of the old town. This is also the perfect spot to welcome the day with a cup of coffee in the morning while you plan the day’s excursions. 

Factor in the plush bedrooms which carry the promise of restful sleep and luxurious bathrooms and we think you’ll have everything covered for a perfectly restful stay. 

Outside your door, you’ll find yourself in the best possible spot for exploring the city – allow yourself to get lost in all the magic on offer around every corner. 


Under the Spanish Sky 

Nestled in the bustling heart of the city, this Lavapiés apartment is just the spot for those who want interior design and location. From here, you can walk to El Retiro, Mercado Antón Martín and Museo Nacional del Prado, as well as all the city’s top eateries. The apartment accommodates five, with three sleeping on sofa beds, so though perhaps a little compact, the flexibility is there if you need it. And while you’ll need to climb some stairs to reach this fourth-floor pad, the stylish interiors and little balcony are a treat after a long day of sightseeing. 

Painted Haven

Bright and thoughtfully designed, this charming apartment borders the luscious gardens of Real Jardín Botánico and is moments away from Caixa Forum’s vertical growing wall and suspended architecture. This elegant home provides an idyllic base for a family or group of friends seeking a calm retreat with cultural hotspots on the doorstep.

We knew that, if the towering wooden front door with pretty cast iron rosettes was anything to go by, this home would be hiding away some pretty impressive features. From the elegant archway to the hand-painted floral panels, the sweet antique toy horse to the immaculately-tiled kitchen – it's a real gem. There’s a tranquil ambience here, which invites you to wind down in the cosy living space whilst the central dining table insists on a homemade tapas spread for a memorable night with your loved ones. 

The surrounding streets are packed with a host of options. Mornings can be best spent altogether walking around El Retiro Park, just a twelve-minute walk away. When it comes to lunch, there’s a whirlwind of culinary offerings so take your pick - a meat-centred affair at Sala de Despiece or hard-hitting small plates at Tripea’s open kitchen in ​​Mercado de Vallehermoso. After your fill, contemplate the artworks in Prado Museum or pop into the boutiques that line the Golden Mile.

El Caballito
