Right on the beachfront at La Canteras, this home has a fabulous spot. Take in the fantastic Atlantic and La Canteras Beach views from this home’s sunny and dazzling whitewashed terrace. You can even spot Mount Teide in Tenerife in the distance. We love this outdoor space, it's ideal for an alfresco breakfast (whizz up a drink in the juicer to accompany some churros). Later, do some sunbathing on the sun loungers. Inside, there are more of those fabulous vistas through the large sliding doors.

In the afternoon, perhaps head to La Canteras  Beach, under a minute stroll away. It’s one of the best urban beaches in the world, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to sample in the vicinity too. Or, for a bit of culture, Las Palmas Cathedral is a ten-minute ride away. It’s a couple of minutes more to Casa-Museo de Colón, which documents Columbus’ voyages.

Sandy Shores Hideaway

Start your mornings at this Gran Canaria duplex with a café con leche on the balcony that is attached to the main bedroom, offering great views both day and night. In the vibrant resort town of Maspalomas, this family-sized villa puts golf courses, sand dune beaches and a shopping mall on your doorstep. It’s a two-minute drive to the nearest golf course and a five-minute drive to the dunes of Maspalomas Beach (or half-hour walk if you fancy). 

Once you’ve had your fill of the Saharan-style landscape, head back to this plush villa to cool off in the private swimming pool. Loungers sit on the astroturf out here and there’s outdoor dining around the corner, on the covered patio. Open up the glass doors to the living room, and blend indoors with outdoors. Mustard-yellow sofas and ink-black artworks create a stylish seating area, and the kitchen just behind has everything you need for self-catering. If you’re not dining outside (there’s a gas grill out here too) then you can have a quick meal at the sleek, black breakfast bar. Those that need to work remotely will appreciate the pristine white dedicated office.

It Comes in Waves

This eco-friendly studio apartment is situated just moments away from the Las Canteras beach, making it a good base for a couple or a solo traveller. Thanks to the central location, a car is not essential here, as you’ll have plenty of shopping and dining options to choose from within walking distance. Public transport options are also excellent if you want to explore further afield. The pad may be compact in size but there’s enough space here for two guests to be comfortable, and with good internet speed, you can also catch up on work during your stay – although you'll have to set-up shop around the dining table since there isn't a desk.

Sailing for Sights

Surrounded by palm trees and greenery, this Tenerife home transports you to scenes of South East Asia; an exotic paradise alive with botanica. Your own terracotta temple worships nature to the fullest, with hidden coves of seated areas, terraces, a pond, and trickling fountain. Alongside the tranquil beauty, the outdoors comes with a touch of fun and games too, boasting a children’s playhouse and flat lawn for a kick about. There’s a stone patio with a built-in barbecue for outdoor dining and a pool to dive straight into. Inside, wooden floors and ceilings, a tiled kitchen, and exposed beams carry that rustic feel. Sea Breeze Hideaway

This apartment takes modernity to a whole new level with gadgets and smart gear galore. It’s in the south of Gran Canaria, within walking distance of Maspalomas’ other-worldly sand dunes and there are restaurants and bars on the doorstep. Guests here have access to a shared swimming pool – the perfect tonic to the suntrap of a private rooftop terrace. The open living, kitchen and dining room is awash with light thanks to conservatory-style glass which is just what you want on sunny Gran Canaria. For those working remotely, one of the bedrooms has a dedicated laptop desk.

A huge open-plan living space – decorated in white walls and with tinges of colour on the furniture – is perfect for spending time as one group. However, when the sun sets on the terracotta tiles, you probably want to spend time outdoors. 

The huge terrace is adorned by intimate seating areas, comfy sun beds and, of course, the glistening pool. Every member of the group can fit in the pool, making it an idyllic spot for games of volleyball or water polo. Continuing the competitive side, get the rallies going during table tennis or practice your shooing at table football.
