This lovely home can be found in Gruissan, a picturesque town in the south of France. If you’re hoping for white sand beaches and beautiful scenery, this is an excellent choice of location. Best of all, it’s home to this stylish abode. 

This home ticks every box when it comes to fuss-free holiday homes. It’s small but perfectly formed, with a cosy living room that’s the heart of the home. Children will love sleeping on the mezzanine level, where they can have their own space while still being close to the grown-ups. 

The outside space here is sure to win over everyone, though. You’ll have access to the shared swimming pool, which is a dream to dive into on hot, sunny days. You can sunbathe alongside the pool, dipping a toe in every now and then, or choose to soak up the sun on one of two terraces. There’s shade aplenty if you’d rather curl up with a book and a lemonade, too. 

Plage de Matteille is less than a kilometre away, where you can splash in the shallows and build sandcastles. It’s also easy to stroll to the harbour promenade – it’s a lovely way to spend an evening. Hikers will be thrilled to be within reach of the trails up Massif de la Clape, which boasts some spectacular views. There’s something for everyone here.

We highly recommend hiring a car here to make the most of this gorgeous location, whether it's a day trip to Sommières or the bustling Montpellier.

We think it's a great choice for families and friend groups – it's bursting with amenities, including all-terrain bikes, a pétanque court, a heated infinity pool, and a gym and sauna. The dedicated office has a double sofa bed for two guests, and there are two EV chargers here for added convenience. We do recommend hiring a car here to make the most of your stay, whether it's exploring Montpellier or the village of Montferrier-sur-Lez, or spending a day at the beach.

Tucked away in the ancient heart of Montpellier, this sophisticated home blends its period features with modern styling. Set in among the warren of narrow streets, close to the opera, the cathedral and museums, it's a surprisingly quiet retreat. Here you'll climb the stairs to your apartment, set within a traditional building dating from the 1700s. And although it's been thoroughly modernised, you'll still see plenty of character details like high ceilings, exposed beams and pretty windows.

The sociable space is painted all-white, with a smart wood floor and a pretty well-equipped kitchen. There's a Juliet balcony in the living room and a sofa bed which boosts the capacity to up to four guests. A comfortable, stylish home in one of the best locations in town, we think you'll love it. We love the styling here, with its mix of stone floors, local timber and exposed stone. The living room has comfy sofas and a log burner to keep everyone toasty in the depth of winter, and there are a few decorative touches that may come as a quirky surprise (we love the bear in the living room and the ski mask mirror in the hall). A well-equipped, modern kitchen comes with everything you'll need and there's a dining table seating eight.

Elsewhere, bedrooms and bathrooms are all individual and smartly furnished – our favourite being the main bedroom with its partly open en-suite. And kids will no doubt love the bunk room. Close to the centre of the village, you'll be within walking distance of its shops and restaurants, with all the resort facilities at your fingertips.

This beautifully bright apartment is in the heart of Montpellier, just 10 kilometres from the dazzling Mediterranean coast. It's a great space for a group of friends, exuding a youthful vibrancy that'll brighten up your days no end. We love its industrial-chic design, with cheerful touches of colour, stark against the bright white interior, and artwork that makes you want to get out and explore the great outdoors.

The kitchen island is the heart of the home here. It's where you'll be doing most of your eating, drinking, and chatting. Mornings are particularly lovely in this bright space, with sunlight travelling all the way up to the tall ceilings – you'll love gathering around the island, sipping fresh coffee, eating breakfast, and finalising the day's plans. 

Whether you're a history buff and have an adventurous spirit (or both, why not?), you'll love Montpellier.
