This is a modern, cosy 4-room property located in the residential district of Bretteville sur Ay, just 150m away from the beach. The house can accommodate up to 6 guests and features modern furnishings. The living/dining room is equipped with satellite TV and has direct access to the terrace. There is a fully equipped open kitchen with a small dining table that leads out to the garden. The upper floor has two bedrooms with sloping ceilings and rooflight, one with a French bed (160 cm) and another with two beds. There is also an open gallery on this floor. The house comes with a washing machine, dryer, children's high chair and baby cot. Guests can enjoy the outdoor space on the terrace which comes equipped with terrace furniture, portable barbecue and deck chairs. One pet/dog is allowed per stay.

Boasting a gorgeous garden with plenty of cosy spots to sit down and breathe in the salty sea air, start your days with coffee on the lawn while watching the boats sail by. 

If you want to see the ocean up close, the beach is less than 1km away – take a walk down to the golden sands to discover what the famous Emerald Coast has to offer. When you're feeling peckish, Cancale oysters are a must-try. Head to one of the local restaurants or buy some from the Mont Saint-Michel oyster market and take them home to prepare yourself. We highly recommend an alfresco dinner on the terrace, washed down with a glass of French wine. When you're finished, head up to the terrace to watch the sunset – the waterfront views have to be seen to be believed. 

When darkness falls, head inside to cuddle up on the sumptuous sofa to watch a movie. If you're travelling with little ones, the mezzanine level dens are the perfect place for a bedtime story to make sure they settle in for a good night's sleep.

As mentioned, you don't have to venture far to find some of Saint-Malo's big sights, but once you've exhausted the small town – which might take longer than you think – you can catch a ferry over to Dinard on the other side of La Rance for more beaches and historic architecture.

The vibrant hues of cobalt and marigold create a playful atmosphere here – we love the light-filled living room with its layered rugs and plump velvet sofa where we imagine you’ll spend afternoons stretched out with your holiday read and a glass of Rosé d'Anjou. There’s a vivid kitchen for preparing dinners with the produce you picked up from Marché de Saint-Servan, and after a day perusing the promenade and touring Saint-Vincent Cathedral of Saint-Malo, you’ll look forward to a blissful night’s sleep in the soft and stylish bedrooms. 

Saint Malo’s pristine sand beaches are just a short stroll away – grab a flaky pastry from your local boulangerie before enjoying a morning swim. At the golden hour, sample a couple of locally-caught oysters and a glass of Muscadet overlooking the bobbing boats in the port.

Within short driving distance, the likes of Bayeux, Caen and the D-Day Landing beaches are well worth a visit if you're keen to explore Normandy's cultural and historical sights amongst its captivating natural beauty.

Depending on how you feel, you can take your meals in the regal dining room, which will involve dressing up appropriately, or you can go the informal route, dining alfresco in the gardens. There are simply so many things to do in this home, from admiring the antiques, playing tennis in the courts, watching period dramas in the appropriate setting, or even going down to the nearby sandy beach. For day trips, we recommend that you head off to see Mont St Michel, which is easily accessible via the motorway, as is the Bayeux Tapestry.

If you're after a comfortable and stylish place to call home while exploring the beautiful Brittany coastline, then look no further than this family-size house with everything needed for an endlessly relaxing stay. Located on the outskirts of Saint-Briac, you're a short walk from several sandy beaches and outstanding golf courses, while being just 1.5 kilometres from the town centre, full of charm and character, with granite houses, small cobbled streets, bakeries, shops, and seafood restaurants. 

Architecturally, it's a stunning design and we love how the owners have made use of the space. With the double-vaulted ceiling, skylights, and floor-to-ceiling windows making the home wonderfully inviting and open. Whether you're cooking in the contemporary kitchen, mapping out the daily plans around the dining table, or enjoying your holiday read in the cosy living area, it's all in one space so you can really make the space into your own social sanctuary. 

The star of the show is the large decked terrace outside, complete with seating and a barbecue for alfesco meals in the sunshine. When it's time to head out, walk to the pristine sand of Plage Du Bechet or Plage De La Salinette, and enjoy fun-filled days sunbathing and swimming. 

Pure & Simple

This is a beautiful 3-family house in the resort town of Jullouville, perfectly located just 10 meters from both the sea and the beach. Despite being situated right in the centre of town, it remains peaceful and quiet. The cosy and well-furnished apartment is on the first floor and boasts a marvellous view of the sea. It has three comfortable bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom. The living room features an open-hearth fireplace (for decoration only) and a flat-screen TV, while the apartment also comes with free internet access. Guests are welcome to park two cars on-site. This property is an excellent base for exploring nearby attractions such as Granville, Coutances, Le Mont Saint Michel, and Iles Chaussey.

This home in Saint-Malo is full of classic charm, with large picture windows, rustic floorboards and exposed beams. Mixed in delicately alongside all of these stunning features, you’ll find some unintrusive modern touches. The whole effect is one that calms you and washes a sense of tranquility over your skin from the moment you step foot inside. 

A lovely little sun room and terrace provides the perfect spot for some quiet time. Grab a coffee and a book and enjoy a little peace as the sun warms you. When it’s time to catch up with your loved ones, the open-plan living, kitchen and dining area gives plenty of space for everyone to gather over good food, fine wine, and enjoy great conversation. 

Head outdoors into the garden and it’s quite the sun trap. Settle down on the comfortable deckchairs and enjoy the scent of the sea in the air. When it tempts you enough, it’s just a short 300-metre stroll to the nearest beach. For those keen to get out on the water, you’ll also find a sailing school just twenty minutes away by foot. With much to do in the area, this home provides an elegant backdrop to what promises to be a wonderful stay.


Sunshine & Sails

We fell hard for this characterful home not far from the St Lunaire coastline and we're pretty sure other guests will be just as smitten. A lot of that is down to the design. Much of it is contemporary in scope, from the minimalist kitchen and stark white walls to the bare wooden floors and the chic selection of furnishings. However, there are a few features that hark back to the past, like the large cabinets filled with curios and the vintage wall signs.

One of our favourite parts of the home, however, is just how bright it feels – that's what'll happen if you fill the walls with large windows, skylights and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. If you want to feel the sun directly on your skin, you only have to step outside onto one of the pair of terraces, which have both loungers and an alfresco dining table for making the most of sunny weather.

If you're lucky with the forecast, you'll probably want to make the most of the fact that St Lunaire's main beach is less than a kilometre away and there are a few more along this stretch of Breton coastline to explore. The centre of town is just as close when you want restaurants and shops, but there's a greater variety in the Dinard, only a short drive away.

We love the open-plan living space – with its velvety corduroy sofa and glittered wave paintings –  pour yourself a glass of cider and settle here with your loved ones for conversations about today’s surf.

Location-wise, you're a few minutes’ stroll from the sandy shores, where you can spend days riding the waves and eating oysters. We also recommend a visit to the centre of the city, a quick drive away, to soak up the local culture. Dine in an authentic seafront restaurant and sip a local beer overlooking the waves.

Rochebonne Boho

Sitting just across the street from the golden sands of Grande Plage du Sillon, this fourth-floor apartment is treated to a front-row seat on Saint-Malo's coastline and the architect has rather thoughtfully covered the walls of the apartment with large windows so you gaze out at the seaside. Even better, there's a balcony to stand on for a burst of sea air and sunshine on your skin.

Given that your eyes are naturally drawn to what lies outside, it makes sense that the design doesn't try to compete. However, there's a sleek subtlety to the stark white walls, deliciously sleek kitchen and geometric furnishings – the square dining table next to the double-aspect windows is a particularly picturesque spot for dinner.

When it comes to seeing a little more of Saint-Malo, there's way more than the neighbouring beach to keep you occupied. Fort National can be visited if you time the tides right, while the winding alleys and streets of the historic Intra-Muros area are less than ten minutes away on foot as well.
