Couleurs de la Normandie

Amidst Calvados orchards and stunning rural landscapes rests this 18th-century chateau in the heart of the Normandy countryside. Dripping in elegance, the castle retains its enchanting heritage dating back to the 1700s, while modern renovations bring added comfort and practicality.

Experience Normandy's unrivalled calmness as you wander around the chateau's 13 acres of lawns, ancient trees and rose gardens. During the springtime, watch the flowers blossom, while in summer, you can take delight in picking plums, apples and cherries from the orchard. The autumnal colours and majestic charm of the wintertime – make this spot completely ravishing all year round.

Original features inside the chateau include parquet flooring, Louis XV and XVI fireplaces and a wonderful classic French kitchen equipped with an open fire. With such preservations in addition to simply beautiful contemporary additions – this spot certainly boasts the wow factor. We particularly adore the office and library spaces, which somehow make us want to pack our laptops just to find a reason to enjoy these rooms.

Upstairs the bedroom and bathroom suites are dressed in minimal designs and invite guests to truly switch off. The window-side built-in bathtub is like something from a fairytale and deserves to be enjoyed with a glass of champagne in hand. Or why not make that a Calvados cocktail?

You'll be within easy reach of the Normandy cider routes from here, so soak up the slow pace of life found in the charming local villages, which are most often home to atmospheric markets boasting fine quality fresh fare. Within short driving distance, the likes of Bayeux, Caen and the D-Day Landing beaches are well worth a visit if you're keen to explore Normandy's cultural and historical sights amongst its captivating natural beauty.

Calvados Royal

Boasting quintessential French coastal charm, this quaint cottage in Langrune-sur-Mer invites guests to enjoy a seaside escape less than a kilometre away from the beach.

Original features, including exposed stone walls and wooden beams, inject heaps of character into the space that is otherwise dressed in neutral tones and contemporary designs. We love the unique aquamarine corner sofa – which makes the perfect perching spot and somewhere to put your feet up after a day's adventures in Normandy. Meanwhile, the courtyard outside presents an idyllic spot for picnics and quiet afternoons reading in the sunshine.

Stroll down to the coastal shores of the beach in just a few minutes, where you'll pass bars, shops and restaurants to make the most of in the local amenities too. The perfect location for wandering around or going on bike rides, the laid-back way of life here will have you feeling refreshed in no time. And with a variety of outdoor activities available, why not try your hand at sailing, fishing, windsurfing, paddleboarding or horse riding?

Coastal Wandering

This coastal home is located in a rural spot, whilst also offering a ton of activities for the family. Whether you choose to gather for a meal at the sunlit dining table indoors or tuck into an alfresco dish on the patio, there's plenty of room to spend some quality time with your loved ones. This home gets a gorgeous amount of daylight through the windows, lighting up the space to accompany you as you spend the afternoon relaxing around the house. Put your feet up as you watch TV or have a duvet day while you dive into a new book.

The beach is only a short walk away from the property, as the coastline stretches far past home – the perfect backdrop for an energising run or power walk. Within fifteen–minutes you'll come across some delicious eateries, as well as a nearby bakery and even a cafe to sip on some freshly brewed coffee with a sweet slice of cake. This destination is a pleasant change from the usual hustle and bustle of Paris, giving you the chance to see the more rural side of France.

After spending the day at the beach, head home to cook up a meal on the outdoor barbeque and while away the hours in the verdant garden under the glow of the evening sky – listen to the serene silence as the day draws to a close.
