Step back in time at this charming château just minutes from the dramatic Normandy coastline. Inside, it's grand but homely – think dark wood-pannelled walls, chandeliers, exposed beams, and arched windows framing picture-perfect views across the lawn. Saint-Valery-en-Caux, a pretty harbour town with bistros, shops, and markets, is only 4 kilometres away. Or head to nearby Veules-les-Roses, one of France’s most beautiful villages, with waterwheels, thatched cottages, and a pier, where you can try Veulaise oysters, a local delicacy.

Normandy Château

This apartment is typically Parisian in style, with huge windows and beautiful wood floors. The windows face into a peaceful interior courtyard – you can unwind in this charming home-from-home. It’s housed in an old building in Neuilly-sur-Seine, just a few minutes from the centre. When you want to travel into the heart of Paris, you need only walk nine minutes to reach Porte Maillot metro – from there, you can reach the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées in no time.

Forest in the City

Situated in Paris’ trendy 10th arrondissement, this small but well-thought-out apartment is within walking distance of the Canal Saint-Martin and a short metro ride from the Marais and Latin Quarter neighbourhoods. The home suits a couple or solo traveller who is always on the go, as the kitchen is better suited to light meals rather than full feasts. But when you need to take a break from your busy itinerary, it’s a comfortable enough place to kick back and relax.

Royal Blue & Ochre

We can see why this French country estate has been featured in a raft of interior design magazines. Inspired by mid-century modern architects, the layout, furnishings and finishes are not what you necessarily expect from these traditional buildings, but they complement them perfectly. There’s a main house and an attached barn, as well as two independent guest suites (one also has a sauna). Step into the gardens and you’ll find a wood-fired Nordic bath and a pétanque court. There’s also a greenhouse growing seasonal crops and an outdoor kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven. Set in a small village within the Vexin Nature Reserve and just an hour from Paris, you’ll have plenty to see and do during your stay.

Hidden Splendour

Fun prints and bright pops of colour create a lively yet relaxing ambience at this home in Mers-les-Bains. Located just 100 metres away from the beach, you'll be well-positioned to take in the fresh sea air and laid-back atmosphere of this charming seaside town.

Soak up scenic sea views from the small balcony, which we think makes the perfect perching spot when sipping your morning coffee. With the option to cook u your own culinary masterpieces in a stylish setting, we can see why dining in may seem appealing here (especially with some produce from the local French farmer's market). However, if you fancy having some local delicacies cooked for you – the bars and restaurants of Mers-les-Bains are within strolling distance here too.

Sea n' Soleil

Boasting a desirable spot in the heart of Paris, this apartment places you only a short walk from the Louvre Museum, Tuileries Garden, and the trendy area of Le Marais. When you're exploring further, you'll also find Sentier Metro station lies just steps away. Note that the home is on the second floor of an apartment building with no lift, so you'll need to climb some stairs here. That said, the apartment is bright and modern, with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully-equipped kitchen and an open dining area for enjoying meals at home – that's if you're not out sampling the local cafes and eateries on your doorstep.

Le Paradis Secret

You'll be right in the swing of things with a stay at this 18th-century apartment in the heart of the 2nd Arrondissement and just a three-minute stroll from the Metro. Take your pick from the blockbuster sights – the Louvre, Palais Royal, and Notre Dame are all just a short jaunt away. Back home, each bedroom with a separate bathroom is as light-filled as the next, though the floor space might feel a little tight for some. But those charming Juliet balcony doors overlooking the smart streets of Montorgueil below more than make up for that.

Montorgueil Gem

Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Paris with this cosy apartment in the 11th arrondissement. If the private balcony doesn't entice you, the views of the local church definitely will. They're like something from a postcard, made even better with a glass of wine as the sun goes down. Inside, the design merges contemporary comforts with French character – think parquet flooring, knotted timber beams, and lots of light. Nearly all the essentials are covered, too, though there isn't a TV or a microwave. Location-wise, you're close to Canal Saint-Martin, while the nearest metro is a quick stroll away when you want to explore further afield.

Parisian Romance

Once a printing house, this sleek duplex apartment embodies the artistic and stylish vibes of the 13th arrondissement. With the nearest bus stops and metro stations just steps away, you'll be exploring Paris just moments after you drop your bags. The Pathé Les Fauvettes and the Galerie des Gobelins are just over the road, along with a wide selection of restaurants in the surrounding streets to help you satisfy any and all cravings. There's plenty of room here for four, with a luxurious en-suite and wonderfully minimal open-plan living space. The second bedroom is more compact, but in this location, we think that's fine.

The Clarisse

What could be better than experiencing the charms of the French countryside from a beautiful château? Perhaps staying in one just thirty minutes outside of Paris? This Saint-Leu-la-Forêt residence sits in a peaceful spot at the edge of the forest, but from here you can easily visit the bustling capital for a day trip. When you’re not exploring the Louvre, you can live like Marie Antoinette in this 1895 château, rich in elegance and heritage. Everything you might need for a comfortable stay has been thought of here, from the sumptuous, grand lounges to the wellness suite with its indoor pool, sauna, gym, and massage room.

Château Charming

This enchanting 17th-century countryside retreat feels as though it’s stepped straight out of a fairytale. Though Paris is just 45 minutes away by car, the estate feels wonderfully removed. It's surrounded by lavender, and rustic in the ways you’d want, yet effortlessly luxurious. Long, leisurely evenings outdoors are a given, and there’s plenty of space to claim a sunny spot and catch up on some reading. Alongside the main house, there’s a fully finished pool house and a converted greenhouse workshop, plus a flourishing vegetable garden and a serene Japanese pond woven into the landscape. All that’s missing is a crown.

Lavender and Ivy

Promising a prime position in the 9th arrondissement, this apartment isn't far from the Palais Garnier. With the Cadet metro station a two-minute stroll away, it's easy to get around Paris for sightseeing. Though the lack of a lift means climbing the stairs, this second-floor home offers a lovely base for city breaks. Since the only bathroom here is an en-suite, guests three and four will have to intrude now and then. So, it might be better suited to families than friends.
