The interiors are a little basic for our liking, but it's modern and there's a dedicated workspace. Plus, the freestanding tub is the perfect place to relax after busy days spent travelling.

The fifty-kilometre long stretch of shimmering beaches and technicolour villages looks straight out of a fairytale, with a balmy climate and delicious cuisine to solidify its appeal. In this colourful apartment, you'll be right in the thick of it. 

Located in a typical Italian building, the characterful home is of traditional style, with tiled flooring from the Vietri Ceramics School, while antique furniture and vintage artwork will transport you to the simpler times of this historical town. From your bedroom balconies, take in far-reaching views of neighbouring rooftops, rugged cliff faces and the landmark Duomo – you can reach this medieval cathedral in just three minutes on foot.

While you're out and about, wind your way towards the Ruga Nova Mercatorum, a narrow street is lined with top-tier pizzerias and eclectic boutiques. The bathtub in the living area takes some getting used to, but you can't deny that its panoramas are fantastic, especially the glimpse of Capri. In fact, the vistas from every room are stunning, though we think the small balcony takes the cake for the best viewpoint. After all, nothing beats a glass of wine, some fresh air, and a seaside sunset. Ready to explore? Make the short drive to Sorrento or venture 200 metres to the nearby rocky beach.

Inside, the living space is just as sun-kissed as the exterior, with each bedroom offering access to the terrace. The third also has convient zip-and-link beds to suit both friends and families. Location-wise, you're a bit further from the centre here but still within easy reach of shops, restaurants, and landmarks. It's about a fifteen-minute walk to Corso Italia and twenty to the harbour – with that in mind, we suggest packing comfortable shoes.

Peering over the Amalfi Coast, this postcard-worthy villa is the perfect Positano escape. With three terraces to choose from, you’ll start your day deliberating where to take breakfast – will it be at the bistro set under the magenta sprays of bougainvillaea or perhaps you’ll dine in the shade by the abundant lemon tree? Afternoons are for doing very little – lazing on a lounger with an ice-cold drink in hand, watching the boats bob on the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea. 

Inside, there’s a minimalist yet lively approach to the living space. Yellow patterned tiles are a counterpoint to the pristine white walls and we loved the homely feel of the antique cherry wood furniture. The bedrooms are comfortable and cheery and the brightly coloured bathrooms are sure to put a pep in your step in the mornings. 

When you’re ready to explore, Positano Beach is just a short walk from your doorstep and you’re within touching distance of restaurants, bars and independent shops. After a slap-up seafood dinner by the water, return to your abode to watch the sky swirl in pinks and purples as you sip an Aperol spritz.

In the heart of Sorrento, this apartment is perfectly positioned to explore the Amalfi Coast. Shops, restaurants, beaches, and the famous Piazza Tasso are all within easy strolling distance. However, with a sprawling roof terrace back home and sweeping views of the Gulf of Naples, it may be hard to pull yourself away. Everyone will adore the plunge pool (though it's only open seasonally), while the panoramic seating areas are perfect for sundowners. A former fishing village, this charming locale is now known for its lemon trees – it’s an idyllic setting for a memorable family holiday. 

Wake up to warm Sorrento sunshine streaming onto your pillow, and step straight outside onto the terrace. Drink in the glorious views of the coast and the island of Capri, which serves as a stunning backdrop. If you prefer to relax at home, there’s a small terrace with a table and chairs. Inside, we love the colourful interiors, especially the cactus-themed en-suite. This place would suit a family as the single bedroom is off the main bedroom and also at full capacity, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed. Otherwise, this is an ideal apartment for your Italian escape.

In the sun-soaked village of Positano, this studio apartment is a peaceful idyll within walking distance of the lively shores of Positano Beach. Inside, it’s all crisp white and cobalt blue. Unwind on the loveseat with a cappuccino, basking in a salty breeze that drifts through the Juliet balcony doors. Put together a Caprese salad at the kitchenette then tuck in at the dining table. When you’re ready to explore, slather on your sunscreen and take a gentle stroll through the pastel-hued streets. 

Pick up trinkets in artisanal shops or laze in a seaside cafe. If your itinerary allows for it, take a trip over to charming Montepertuso and embark on one of many hiking routes. Return home in the early evening to watch dusk fall over the shambling rooftops with a tot of limoncello in hand. And when it’s time to get some sleep, the comfortable double bed tempts an early night.

Your host is also on hand to help organise extras like private transfers and organised tours. Wherever the day takes you, this apartment provides a cosy spot to relax and unwind. There’s a private balcony and a welcoming living room for laidback gatherings. The second bedroom also features a small kitchen – perfect for preparing your morning coffee or tea. 

Sorrento Love

There's something rather magical about the view from this apartment nestled within a private park in Positano – ruggedly beautiful cliffsides peppered with dwellings part to reveal a burst of gloriously blue Tyrrhenian Sea and the uninterrupted skyline beyond. It makes for a charming backdrop while you soak up the sunshine or enjoy alfresco meals on the terrace.

Although the apartment itself lies on the smaller side of things, we're quite fond of the bright and contemporary design, particularly the sleek white galley kitchen and the fetching patterned tiling underfoot in the bedrooms. It's a home that's been owned by the same family for more than three decades, but you can certainly tell that it's received plenty of attention in recent years.

The local town of Positano itself isn't large, so most of the attractions are easily reachable on foot, including the golden sands of Spiaggia Grande Positano only 400 metres from the front door. In the wider area, those fond of a hike will appreciate the hilly terrain and walking routes found throughout the Amalfi Coast.

Simply Unforgettable

In charming Sant’Agnello, this apartment makes a great base for those keen to experience the quieter side of Sorrento. The atmosphere here is more laid-back, yet you'll still find plenty of restaurants within easy reach. Sorrento's beaches and town square are also just a twenty-minute stroll away. Back home, rest your feet in the breezy living area or snuggle up in the two comfortable bedrooms. We're also big fans of the private balcony. It's small, but it works well for sundowners – and you'll even have a slight view of the sea and Mount Vesuvius.

A shared swimming pool and nearby restaurants, bars and shops mean guests can conveniently balance leisure and exploring the city. Meanwhile, the shared on-site amenities, including a tennis court and garden, will keep you occupied between days out in and around Sorrento. A few meters from the Porta di Parsano, you'll find yourselves on the main promenade, nearby Piazza Tasso and its characteristic bars, restaurants, and shops.

Inside, you’ll find dramatic vaulted ceilings and more sea vistas from the bedrooms. The private chef here can also prepare daily seasonal menus featuring the best ingredients from the locale. Another highlight of this home is the private pathway that leads directly from the villa's grounds to a rocky cove. Or for sandy beaches explore the Amalfi Coast, including the nearby Erchie Beach.

Nestled within a lemon orchard, this stunning villa is practically hanging off the side of the Amalfi Coast. On the villa’s stepped terraces, the citrus scent of fresh lemons combines with sea salt as you enjoy uninterrupted views over the azure Tyrrhenian Sea. Walkways shaded by twisting grapevines, magenta bougainvillaea and wisteria bursting in purple clouds give way to panoramic views. You’ll find endless secluded spots for dining outdoors, or lounging in the sun. Inside, we were really taken by the hand-painted tiles in every room, bursting with blues, yellows and greens, and the hand-painted details like the decal in the shower, that feel distinctly Amalfi. Rather than facing the TV, the living room’s sofa points directly at the French windows and that incredible sea view and both main bedrooms have their own French windows for a view all to yourself. From the villa, it’s a short walk to the beach at the bottom of Maiori. Here, you can join the coastal walking path that links all the quintessentially Amalfi Coast villages. Or, head out in the car to the town of Amalfi, a fifteen-minute drive away.

The wrap-around panoramic terrace at this apartment has stunning views of Marina Grande and the Tyrrhenian Sea. This home is on the third floor with no lift, but your host can help you with your luggage. Inside, the open-plan living space is light and airy, but two people will be sleeping on a sofa bed here at full capacity. The address is fantastic – this apartment is in one of the most exclusive areas on the Sorrento Coast. There are bars and restaurants on your doorstep or explore the city of Sorrento, a short walk or ride away.

Featuring multiple guest suites, it presents more as a boutique hotel than a private villa – as there's a private chef alongside a range of concierge services available. The crème de la crème undoubtedly rests outside on the picturesque terrace. Here you'll find an opulent alfresco dining area, lounge seating and a private swimming pool overlooking the sea. This spot truly is a hidden gem of the Amalfi coast – you'll be located around a twelve-minute walk down to the bay of Positano (and slightly longer to walk back up). 




The Poet's Stone

Central, contemporary, and comfortable – this Sorrento apartment more than fits the bill. It's situated in the heart of the city, just a stone's throw from the coast, Piazza Tasso, and the city's bustling shops and eateries. Exploring on foot is a breeze here – a good thing, too, as parking isn't provided. As for the design back home, it has everything you'd want for a city break. There's a sleek (albeit somewhat small) kitchen, a modern living area with a sofa bed for the fifth guest, and a duo of bedrooms and bathrooms.

If you’re a lover of a sea view, this apartment is ideal for you. We love how each living space is built around its large window, so the views are the star of the show. The decor is minimalistic, to pull all your focus towards those views, with white interiors splashed with touches of muted colour. The home feels charming and welcoming, while still feeling stylish and modern – the ideal place for a romantic retreat, or a peaceful getaway for one.

Wake up each day to glorious ocean views, and head up to the glorious shared terrace to have your cup of coffee while enjoying the stunning setting. Spend the morning cooking up a delicious Italian breakfast, and tuck in together around your cute dining set. The sofa makes for an excellent place for an afternoon nap when you’ve spent the morning soaking up the sunshine. Then, in the evenings, you’re within easy reach of many restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a great night out.

Back inside, you’ll find a bright and elegant living room, with gorgeous Mediterranean details and a comfy sofa, ideal for snuggly evenings of movies. This boutique apartment boasts stunning panoramic views of the Sorrento coastline and the Mediterranean Sea. It’s a charming, chic base for a coastal escape, with pretty interiors – we especially love the colourful tiled floors. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen space is the heart of the home, though you’ll likely spend most of your time on the terrace – it’s a marvellous spot for soaking up the sun and admiring the views. Two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in bedroom three, so they’ll still have their privacy. 

Sunset Horizon Heights

Located in the heart of Old Town, this apartment puts the best of Sorrento on your doorstep. You can discover the whole town on foot, whether it's the postcard-worthy port, the bustling Piazza Tasso, or the restaurants and shops lining the Corso Italia. Back at the apartment, the small balcony is the perfect spot to enjoy the sunshine. Inside are three comfortable bedrooms – one can be arranged with twins or a queen – as well as a sofa bed for two. It's not the most modern in terms of design, but it's centrally located and cosy to boot – that's how we like our boltholes to be.

Summer Rise

We don't know what we love more – this apartment's colourful design or its spot on the bustling Corso Italia. All the must-haves and must-sees are within easy reach here, from restaurants and landmarks like Piazza Tasso to Sorrento's picturesque port. Inside, the living area features quirky chevron floors and lime and blue tiles inspired by the sea. A sofa bed can accommodate a fifth guest, but we think this pad is best for four. It's also on the second floor, so expect to climb a few stairs – all worth it for the central location.

A Slice of Lime

With the Sorrento seaside mere minutes away by foot, this home is ideal for those with an affinity for the Italian coast. While its furnishings are modest, its views are not – look out the living room and bedroom’s windows to spy palm trees, gorgeous buildings and the sparkling sea beyond. Our favourite part, though, is its superb location – when you’re feeling peckish, pick a restaurant right outside your doorstep, or take a short stroll down to the picturesque beach for a refreshing dip.

Amalfi Dreams

With impressive views across Napoli bay, this apartment makes it easy to experience the charm of Sorrento. You can sit back and relax on the private terrace and there’s plenty of space inside to socialise and stretch out. It’s worth noting some of the furnishings are a little dated, but it’s a great option for families and groups in search of simplicity and ease in a fantastic location. Outside, you can stroll to restaurants, cafes and shops. It’s also a great base for exploring nearby Pompeii and the Amalfi coast.

Taking inspiration from Sorrento's nearby harbour and rocky beach, the design of this second-floor apartment is as bright and cheery as the surrounding neighbourhood. There's no doubt it's stylish, but it's also packed with modern amenities that make your stay a dream, from rainfall showers to a kitchen where you'll love rustling up Italian feasts. We adore the quirky touches here, too – our favourite is the stone wall in the shower, which uses the rocky facade of the mountain. 

Did we mention the two sun-kissed balconies? Both offer excellent spots to breathe in the coastal breezes and bask in Sorrento's good weather. Whether you're dining alfresco under the shady parasol or sharing a bottle of Italian wine on the outdoor sofas, this is the place to sit back, relax and fall in love with Sorrento.

Location-wise, you can't do much better. Beaches, eateries and shops are all just steps away. Take a stroll along the postcard-pretty marina in the mornings, followed by lunch at a waterfront restaurant. Do some sightseeing in the historic centre in the afternoons, including a wander around Piazza Tasso and a stop off at the Cattedrale dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo. You're also about an hour or so drive from Naples and Pompeii – perfect for day trips.

Capri Town is only accessible on foot, with plenty of upmarket boutiques and mouthwatering restaurants within a short stroll. For an entirely different perspective on island life, we'd recommend taking to the water for a gentle cruise along its coast, passing secluded coves and the yawning mouths of sea caves.

It’s a short drive from Sorrento, with a path that leads directly from the villa to the village of Sant’Elia, through a beautiful valley. You’ll have everything you might need for a relaxing stay here, with a hot tub, private outdoor heated pool, and an alfresco dining space – your host can arrange for a chef to prepare Italian feasts. There’s also exercise equipment, should you fancy a work out – I think we'd prefer to unwind on a sun lounger, though.
