With far-reaching views of the Bay of Nerano and the Amalfi Coast, it’s not hard to see why this home made it into our collection. Spread across three levels, there’s plenty of space for a large family or group of friends to spread out and enjoy some private time here. We don’t believe in waking up early on holiday - give us a lie in and breakfast in bed any day. But we might just make an exception at The Ocean Fern. The sight of the sun rising over the glittering blue seas of the Italian coastline is something everyone should experience at least once, and it’s even better if you’re close enough to hear the gentle lapping of the waves on the pebble beach below you. This home couldn’t be closer to the sea, with an infinity pool directly overlooking the beach and staggering views from every window (not to mention the spacious terrace). This villa is situated 850 metres from the pebbly beach of Marina del Cantone on the beautiful Amalfi Coast. You’ll find restaurants nearby too, while the town of Nerano is 1 kilometre from this home. A little further afield, Sorrento is 9 kilometres and Amalfi is 38 kilometres away. Or spend your days relaxing in the private swimming pool with its hydro massage jets – we love the sea views from here. You can enjoy the Mediterranean Sea vistas from the upstairs bedrooms too. There’s a pizza oven as well, for authentic pizzas, if you don’t feel like eating out.

The villa itself boasts several terraces and balconies, so you can take in the mountainscapes from several spots, from the balcony to the luxurious Jacuzzi. There’s even an outdoor gym if you’re keen on keeping up the fitness routine, and a kidney-shaped pool in the garden.

You can enjoy the hillside vistas from inside this stylish apartment, too. Just take a look at the outlook from the dining table – meals here will be very special. What about the location? There's plenty to explore around the Amalfi Coast. Also, there are eateries within walking distance.

There's realistically only one thing we can start with when talking about this home and that's the gorgeous view of the Gulf of Naples that lies out of the main living area's huge window. Thankfully, these French doors open wide and the balcony lets you take in the coastal panorama with the sunlight on your skin. If you're still in need of another vantage point, guests also get access to a communal roof terrace with some seating on which to clink glasses while the sun sets in the background.

Right, enough about the scenery, because the apartment itself deserves some praise. There's an elegant simplicity to the design, with the whitewashed walls working well with the ample amounts of natural light, plus a minimalist kitchen ready and waiting for Italian feasts. We also like the ceramics collection arranged in alcoves in the hallways, which pay homage to the region's culture and heritage in chic fashion.

As you can tell by looking out the window, you don't have to venture far to find the beach – as a matter of fact, Spiaggia di San Montano is only 200 metres away. There are a few bars and restaurants in the local area, but for a wider choice along with some magnificent historic architecture, Sorrento is just a short drive away up the coastline.

Taking inspiration from Sorrento's nearby harbour and rocky beach, the design of this second-floor apartment is as bright and cheery as the surrounding neighbourhood. There's no doubt it's stylish, but it's also packed with modern amenities that make your stay a dream, from rainfall showers to a kitchen where you'll love rustling up Italian feasts. We adore the quirky touches here, too – our favourite is the stone wall in the shower, which uses the rocky facade of the mountain. 

Did we mention the two sun-kissed balconies? Both offer excellent spots to breathe in the coastal breezes and bask in Sorrento's good weather. Whether you're dining alfresco under the shady parasol or sharing a bottle of Italian wine on the outdoor sofas, this is the place to sit back, relax and fall in love with Sorrento.

Location-wise, you can't do much better. Beaches, eateries and shops are all just steps away. Take a stroll along the postcard-pretty marina in the mornings, followed by lunch at a waterfront restaurant. Do some sightseeing in the historic centre in the afternoons, including a wander around Piazza Tasso and a stop off at the Cattedrale dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo. You're also about an hour or so drive from Naples and Pompeii – perfect for day trips.

It's situated in the heart of the city, just a stone's throw from the coast, Piazza Tasso, and the city's bustling shops and eateries. Exploring on foot is a breeze here – a good thing, too, as parking isn't provided. As for the design back home, it has everything you'd want for a city break. There's a sleek (albeit somewhat small) kitchen, a modern living area with a sofa bed for the fifth guest, and a duo of bedrooms and bathrooms.

It’s 3 kilometres from Massa Lubrense and its shops and restaurants, in a glorious spot for hiking. The villa – perfect for large groups – has a private pool and terraces, where you can admire the views and enjoy the sunshine. There’s a children’s play area in the garden, and a grand piano in the living room. It’s a beautiful home, with bedrooms looking out to sea. You’ll never want to leave.

This charming two-storey apartment makes the most of its seaside spot with an upside-down layout – bedrooms on the entrance level, and an open kitchen and living area on the first floor, leading out onto that show-stealing terrace. Floor-to-ceiling doors fold back to allow easy access to the outdoors, where you can soak up the sun on the rattan-style seating, pop the umbrella up for some respite from the midday sun, or barbecue a banquet for the whole party on the grill. 

White and blue dominate the decor throughout, reflecting the azure hues of the sea and sky, plus the occasional passing cloud. The main bedroom also boasts its own private balcony that opens out onto fragrant lemon and olive trees that are used to create all manner of sumptuous local products.
