We don’t believe in waking up early on holiday - give us a lie in and breakfast in bed any day. But we might just make an exception at The Ocean Fern. The sight of the sun rising over the glittering blue seas of the Italian coastline is something everyone should experience at least once, and it’s even better if you’re close enough to hear the gentle lapping of the waves on the pebble beach below you. This home couldn’t be closer to the sea, with an infinity pool directly overlooking the beach and staggering views from every window (not to mention the spacious terrace). You’ll find restaurants nearby too, while the town of Nerano is 1 kilometre from this home. A little further afield, Sorrento is 9 kilometres and Amalfi is 38 kilometres away. Or spend your days relaxing in the private swimming pool with its hydro massage jets – we love the sea views from here. You can enjoy the Mediterranean Sea vistas from the upstairs bedrooms too. There’s a pizza oven as well, for authentic pizzas, if you don’t feel like eating out.

Inside, you can enjoy the view from the living rooms and kitchens too. Windows are a big part of the traditional decor here, so if you need to take a break from the sun you won’t miss out. A stone’s throw from rows of authentic seafood restaurants and a pretty pebble beach, a great time can be had close to home, but we recommend renting a car so you can enjoy day drips to Massa Lubrenese and Sorrento. The villa itself boasts several terraces and balconies, so you can take in the mountainscapes from several spots, from the balcony to the luxurious Jacuzzi. There’s even an outdoor gym if you’re keen on keeping up the fitness routine, and a kidney-shaped pool in the garden.

Location-wise, you're in the heart of Sorrento, just a short walk from the beach. You'll also be within easy reach of the port, with restaurants and bars on your doorstep – handy, as this pad doesn't come with a kitchen. The interiors are a little basic for our liking, but it's modern and there's a dedicated workspace. Plus, the freestanding tub is the perfect place to relax after busy days spent travelling.

With all of Sorrento’s attractions within walking distance, this apartment has a great location. You'll be just moments away from shops, cafes, restaurants and bars too. From here, you can easily explore the Amalfi Coast, the island of Capri, and the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Ercolano as well. The apartment itself is cosy and the open-plan living space sleeps two guests on a sofa bed at full occupancy. There’s a small balcony which overlooks the communal gardens and courtyard as well. You’ll also have access to one of the host’s resorts, which has a pool, but this is 10 kilometres away. This apartment offers a comfortable base for exploring this beautiful town.

From here, you can spend days on Leonelli’s Beach, dine in the waterfront trattorias and explore the Piazza Tasso.

And when you want to stay closer to home, you'll find plenty of eateries within walking distance.

Compact yet bright and modern, this apartment suits a solo traveller, couple or small family seeking a peaceful stay a twenty-minute drive from Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. While the home is equipped with a kitchen, you won’t find an oven, only a hob. Fortunately, eateries are within walking distance if you fancy a feast. As the mezzanine bedroom is semi-open to the space below, we think the sofa bed is better suited for children if you stay as a group of four.
