We don’t believe in waking up early on holiday - give us a lie in and breakfast in bed any day. But we might just make an exception at The Ocean Fern. The sight of the sun rising over the glittering blue seas of the Italian coastline is something everyone should experience at least once, and it’s even better if you’re close enough to hear the gentle lapping of the waves on the pebble beach below you. This home couldn’t be closer to the sea, with an infinity pool directly overlooking the beach and staggering views from every window (not to mention the spacious terrace). We love the outside space here, whether it’s the sunny private swimming pool and the sun loungers alongside it, or the balconies. You can prepare your breakfast and morning coffee and take it outside to enjoy in the sunshine, all the while drinking in those marvellous views. The interiors are a little basic for our liking, but it's modern and there's a dedicated workspace. Plus, the freestanding tub is the perfect place to relax after busy days spent travelling.

If you’re a lover of a sea view, this apartment is ideal for you. We love how each living space is built around its large window, so the views are the star of the show. The decor is minimalistic, to pull all your focus towards those views, with white interiors splashed with touches of muted colour. Wake up each day to glorious ocean views, and head up to the glorious shared terrace to have your cup of coffee while enjoying the stunning setting. There's realistically only one thing we can start with when talking about this home and that's the gorgeous view of the Gulf of Naples that lies out of the main living area's huge window. Thankfully, these French doors open wide and the balcony lets you take in the coastal panorama with the sunlight on your skin. If you're still in need of another vantage point, guests also get access to a communal roof terrace with some seating on which to clink glasses while the sun sets in the background.

Right, enough about the scenery, because the apartment itself deserves some praise. There's an elegant simplicity to the design, with the whitewashed walls working well with the ample amounts of natural light, plus a minimalist kitchen ready and waiting for Italian feasts. We also like the ceramics collection arranged in alcoves in the hallways, which pay homage to the region's culture and heritage in chic fashion.

As you can tell by looking out the window, you don't have to venture far to find the beach – as a matter of fact, Spiaggia di San Montano is only 200 metres away. There are a few bars and restaurants in the local area, but for a wider choice along with some magnificent historic architecture, Sorrento is just a short drive away up the coastline.

Right by the coast, this cosy apartment is perfect for a couple's retreat. The bathtub in the living area takes some getting used to, but you can't deny that its panoramas are fantastic, especially the glimpse of Capri. In fact, the vistas from every room are stunning, though we think the small balcony takes the cake for the best viewpoint. After all, nothing beats a glass of wine, some fresh air, and a seaside sunset. Ready to explore? Make the short drive to Sorrento or venture 200 metres to the nearby rocky beach.

The Marina Piccola harbour is close by, offering hydrofoil services to Capri, Ischia and Procida, so exploring is a breeze.
