Despite its quiet location, the area is surrounded by rolling vineyards, medieval hamlets and breathtaking lakes, such as Lago di Massaciuccoli, a short drive away. There's no living room, and while the kitchenette is small, it's well-equipped for cooking up whatever your heart desires. The highlight here is the private rooftop terrace, accessed via a shared staircase and featuring a hot tub, sun loungers, and shaded seating. You can expect to bump into other residents of the building during your stay and may not have full privacy at all times, but there's room to park or store a bike, and the nearest beaches are easily reached by bike, car, or even public transport.

Peaceful where it sits among olive groves and sequoias, swimming pool, terrace, and sprawling garden included, it also allows for a quick escape to the hustle of cities like Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The house and interior is what you'd expect from an older home, and though it might not be to everyone's taste, it's comfortable and adds plenty of traditional character.
