Located in the heart of the vibrant Santo Spirito district, you’ll be just a few steps from the square and the Boboli Gardens, while Florence Cathedral is within walking distance.

In the afternoon, you might like to stroll to Boboli Gardens. The world-famous gardens are a sixteen-minute walk away and are an oasis in the bustling city. Cross over Ponte Vecchio on your way back, browsing the jewellery shops and soaking up the history. In an enviable location directly on the River Arno, this home offers ample space and stunning views. We think it’d be very well suited to groups of friends or families, as it has a great social space but individual guests can still have their privacy. You can imagine the main area being used for hosting dinner parties, or just for relaxing on the sofa after a day of exploring. We thought the bathrooms were a little on the small side, but in a home this beautiful in this location, we can look past that. 


River Elegance

Delivering knockout vistas of Florence's rooftops and the mighty Duomo from nearly every room, we've fallen hard for this central bolthole. Each light-filled bedroom is as elegant as the next, though they are short on floor and storage space, so we recommend packing lightly. It's also worth noting at full occupancy, it could be a squeeze to all kick back on the sofa, and while the kitchen is well-equipped, it's short on prepping space. It's the perfect excuse to eat out instead, and luckily, you're an olive stone's throw from countless traditional trattorias for all the Tuscan classics.

Monumental Views

Florence's most famous landmarks are mere steps from this apartment. Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Signoria, Florence Cathedral, and plenty more are less than ten minutes away on foot. Of course, being in the heart of the city has its quirks. Noise is likely here, and a climb to the third floor is required as the building doesn't have a lift. But once inside, we reckon you'll appreciate the traditional features on offer. The open-plan living area has just enough room to decompress after sightseeing as well as a compact (yet well-appointed) kitchen to rustle up Italian dishes. Two guests will sleep on a sofa bed, though – fine for short stays, but may not suit everyone.

The design here is clean, modern, and comfortable, but because it’s run by a management company it does lack a bit of character. We won’t hold that against Blue Heron though, because you’ll find it in the very heart of Florence, just a few minutes’ walk from the Duomo. Better yet, this street is quiet and surprisingly uncrowded given its proximity to Florence’s biggest tourist attraction. There’s even a charming balcony that looks the courtyard – a perfect spot for an espresso or a glass of wine.

Blue Heron

Bright and homely, this charming Florentine apartment is perfect for couples or a small family on a getaway in the city. There’s no lift here, as expected in a beautiful Liberty-style building, so you’ll need to climb stairs to reach the home. Still, it’s a small price to pay for the location. We love the second bedroom, accessed via a spiral staircase and oozing tranquillity – just watch your head on those sloping ceilings and beams. And when you’re ready to explore, many major sightseeing spots are within walking distance, while the Belfiore tram stop is nearby for jaunts further afield.
