Set in a historic building, we love this apartment’s view of the River Arno and Florentine architecture from the elegant living room. If you want to do some Italian cooking while you are here, the kitchen, though quite compact, has everything you probably need. Or, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby to enjoy. This address, in the heart of Florence, means many of the city’s attractions are a short walk. The Museo Bardini is 20 metres away, while the Ponte Vecchio and the Fortezza di Belvedere are both around 600 metres from this home.

In an enviable location directly on the River Arno, this home offers ample space and stunning views. We think it’d be very well suited to groups of friends or families, as it has a great social space but individual guests can still have their privacy. You can imagine the main area being used for hosting dinner parties, or just for relaxing on the sofa after a day of exploring. We thought the bathrooms were a little on the small side, but in a home this beautiful in this location, we can look past that.

This place is great for families or friends as there are two living rooms, as well as a mezzanine seating area which sleeps two guests on a sofa bed at full capacity. This home is perfect for those seeking history, elegance and comfort in the beating heart of Florence.

Wow, were the words we uttered when we walked into the living room of this home and saw the stunning views of the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery and River Arno. Housed in a beautiful building, this recently renovated, elegant apartment is a lovely place to spend time in with its designer sofa, marble fireplace and gorgeous herringbone patterned wood floors.

If you want to explore what you can see from this home, it's around a thirty-second stroll to Ponte Vecchio, while the Uffizi Gallery is a four-minute walk. It's the same walking distance to Palazzo Pitti, one of Florence's largest architectural monuments. Other attractions nearby include the Strozzi Palace, which is eight minutes on foot. This home is ideal for two couples, a group of friends or a family wanting to be within walking distance of this glorious city's treasures.

You couldn't ask for a better location, less than a twenty-minute stroll from the Duomo and the famous Piazzale Michelangelo viewpoint and even closer to the Pitti Palace's museums and gardens. 

The interior is warm and inviting, striking the perfect balance between authentic charm and contemporary comfort. We especially love the open-plan living space, primed for relaxation with a compact yet equipped kitchen, a large dining table, a cosy lounge and a majestic fireplace. Perched on the second floor, it feels delightfully peaceful despite its central location and offers beautiful views from its large shuttered windows. After a day of adventure, enjoy a glass of wine while admiring your scenic surroundings before slipping out for your reservation at one of the many eateries nearby.

Unsurprisingly, we’re going to start by talking about the view. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the living space look directly out onto the River Arno and the famous Ponte Vecchio – an outstanding feat of engineering from Europe’s Middle Ages. You’re that close, you can hear the water rushing underneath the stone from your private balcony. The interiors are modest but comfortable and do well not to distract you from the fantastic vistas. Set up a traditional Italian breakfast at the dining table and watch daybreak over the water, then finish your coffee on the comfy couch as you put the finishing touches to your Florentine checklist. Take the short, ten-minute stroll across the bridge to the heart of the city where the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Bargello National Museum are an afternoon well spent. Enjoy a pit stop in the bustling Piazza della Repubblica before continuing on to the Accademia Gallery, the proud home of Michelangelo’s David.

There's plenty of space, even with four guests sleeping on sofa beds. And the courtyard seating with a vertical garden is a really nice added bonus, especially for sunset drinks.

But, it's worth noting you'll have to earn those views by climbing five flights of stairs up to the apartment. Still, it's cosy and the building peaks and spires across the river are still visible even from inside the living room. Though the traditional style here might not appeal to everyone, the location is hard to resist. Walk to the Uffizi Gallery to start your love affair with Renaissance art and make a scenic crossing over the Ponte alle Grazie - both are minutes away.
